Ed Batista, in my humble opinion, really deserves 11 stars out of 10.

If I could only use 4 words to describe Ed they would be:

"Master Drywaller and Taper"

In my 35 plus years experience in the construction and engineering industry I have never met a better individual who is dedicated to providing excellent drywall installation and taping service coupled with excellent customer service skills - I believe Ed to be one of the best in the Drywall and Taping Industry.

From the initial visit with Ed I knew I found the right man for the job.

My basement was very intricate in layout & had various geometric shapes requiring precise drywalling techniques coupled with a mastery of taping which Ed easily provided and even surpassed my expectations which are at a very high standard - Ed can attest to this fact.

Ed is very meticulous with the final surface preparation which includes fine hand sanding with a light source to help zero in on any shadows created by uneven surface areas - a true "Master Craftsman" which is very difficult to find nowadays.

The best way to describe my dealings with Ed is as follows:

Ed was great! He recommended what drywall boards needed to be replaced (and replaced them), installed cornerbeads and did an amazing mudding/sanding job in my basement (about 2100 sq. ft of coverage - walls and ceiling). He also finished my windows boxes very nicely

His work was clean, he was on-time and what he said he was going to do, he did.

We needed drywall replaced in our Master bedroom closet. We also needed repairs to the ceiling and walls in 3 separate locations in our home due to water damage from roof leaks. Ed was very precise in his inspection, quote and completion of the work that we wanted.
Ed always showed up on time and was so professional that my husband and me simply relaxed and allowed him to complete our work in an extremely clean and organized manner.
The results in multiple locations in our home are incredible.

"Highly Recommended". Reliable, dependable, professional! Ed, did a fantastic Job, showed up when he said he would and did more than I expected. I had approx 350 sq feet of recently scraped popcorn 9ft ceiling with installed crown moulding to deal with. There was some damaged areas that needed some fixing as well as some work that had to be done on a "warped" living room wall. Ed walked in, covered the floor, hung plastic sheeting, Several skim coats later with a bit of sanding, its never looked better. What a difference to look up to the ceiling and across the wall and everything is perfectly flat. I will have Ed back again to address some issues in my basement. Don't waste your time looking around for a "Drywall Guy", call Ed. Really nice guy, very reasonable. He comes prepared and keeps the workspace clean and tidy. Job Well Done!

Amazing Job. Ed is super nice guy, incredible hard worker. He's flexible with his schedule and completed the work very fast.

We decided to rip our ceiling down on the main floor and replace all the drywall. Ed ripped it all down, cleaned it and replaced the drywall, taped it within our time schedule and for a great price. He kept our house clean and covered areas that required it. The job looks amazing.

Ed did a fantastic job drywalling, taping and sanding the walls in my basement. He came on short notice to provide an accurate estimate and was very timely in completing the work. He was very patient and helpful in providing framing tips for some of the more challenging corners and bulkheads. Ed was very clear in his communications and respectful of the agreed upon work schedule and start times. I would have no reservations referring Ed to colleagues, neighbours, friends or family.

I bought a house which had a basement family room that was drywalled by the previous owner but not taped. I got three quotes to do the job. Ed from DB taping was the only one to tell me that the drywall was installed incorrectly. He recommended and estimated removal of 75% of it and install ceiling straps and wall supports and correct the soffit box frames.
If I had gone with one of the other tapers I am sure I would have had problems down the road.

I was in the process of renovating my basement alone - I quickly realized that the taping/mudding process had to be done by a professional. Ed was punctual, polite, and completed the job on-time. Great communication and absolutely no hassles, I would absolutely use Ed in the future.

The work was done expertly. Ed went out of his way to explain everything to me and to make sure the job was up to my expectations. He worked around my busy schedule and even came on Sunday! I would recommend him without reservation to anyone doing a drywall project. I had hoped to add a few before and after pictures to this review but see no spot on the review page where I can do so. Perhaps I can add them later on the Homestar home page. I was so impressed by the work performed by DB Taping that I took the time to write this review, which is the first review I have ever written. I couldn’t be happier with the stipple / popcorn removal and ceiling finishing Ed completed for us.

When we originally contacted Ed we had just finalized the purchase agreement for our new home and were lining up trades to start work once we closed on the house. We only had so many visits to the house before closing so it was critical that trades showed up to quote right on time. Ed showed on time, down to the minute as he said he would and after providing a reasonable and well explained quote we booked him for a specific start date a month in advance.

Ed showed up as promised on the start date and worked diligently and in a very organized fashion throughout our house removing the popcorn ceilings and doing several cycles of skim coat and sanding.

The results were incredible. As Ed finished room by room I followed him applying two coats of primer and then ceiling paint to all the ceilings. In the +1500 sq feet of ceilings Ed finished for us, there was literally not a single imperfection. I really notice details, and was expecting there to be some touchups required, but there was not a single one.

Additionally, worth mentioning is Ed’s attitude. It’s amazing. We had trades coming and going and Ed proactively worked with me to plan his schedule around the other trades while taking into account what our priorities for completion were.

I really cannot overstate how happy we were with Ed, his work and his attitude.
