We required movers for an office move that could dismantle and assemble furniture on the other end. AMJ came in with the best quote. They were very professional and quick, they put protective floor coverings down so they did not damage the floors. They did however damage some of the furniture on reassemble.

My insurance company hired this mover to pack my bookstore stock and move it offsite while repairs were made to the building. The man who came to do the estimate said the company had experience moving libraries and understood the importance of keeping the books separated by category and shelved in alphabetical order.

Instead, they mixed up the categories of books, they did not maintain the alphabetical order, and they did not return books to the correct locations. They put books on shelves upside down, sideways, and backwards. They out sorted a selection of paperbacks written by various authors and put them all together on one shelf, apparently because they all had yellow spines.

Worst of all - they damaged my stock. They tore dust jackets, they broke spines, they crammed paperbacks onto the shelves with the covers bent in half, they even bent trade paperbacks to make them fit the short shelves where we display audio books.

This company should never be allowed to handle books, nor should they be engaged by any business that wants their assets treated with care and respect.

Terrible experience with AMJ. They recommended insurance, which we bought. Loaded truck and stored for a month. Valuables missing from truck. AMJ will not honour insurance claim because a) we signed to say that boxes were delivered on moving day (but were not given an option to unpack and verify all contents), and b) some missing items were wedding gifts and we don't have receipts. Unbelievable. Disgusted.

Great, professional movers. We moved from a house to a house. Everything they moved was not broken or dented, they took care with what they carried and ensured my items were not damaged. Appreciated that they confirmed ahead of time when they should arrive.

I called around for a few quotes and found AMJ to be the cheapest. I went with one of their advertised local moving packages (3 movers for 4h). Honestly, I wasn't dissapointed at all. The 3 guys were SO nice, helpful, and went the extra mile. They put runners and carpets down, wrapped anything they needed to very quickly, moved things exactly to where I wanted them to, didn't break anything or mishandle anything... I found them to actually be very thoughtful and respective of my items. Everything was done on time and on budget. There wasn't any nonsense like holding items 'hostage' in the truck for extra money or additional fees...

I would use them again for sure.

Horrible experience. The agent from Barrie Ontario gave me bad advise. I had some items which I asked if they should be crated. He said just bubble wrap them and they'll be fine. They got to my final destination shattered. Many items were damaged - some severely. I had a number of boxes lost. I had specifically paid AMJ Campbell to pack them because of their value (both financial and emotional value as they were passed down from family members who are no longer with us). The boxes were lost and more so, they were never listed on the inventory list. The company was supposed to provide an additional person to pack all of my artwork - which again I was paying extra for. They ended up dropping off the boxes for the two movers to pack. This added an additional 4 hours onto the move because now the two movers who were inventorying and loading approximately 10,000 lbs of goods had to stop and pack all the of art.
When the goods were unloaded at our new house, I contacted our agent in Barrie and he basically washed his hands of our move. He told me that it was not his responsibility and I had to call the claims department in the US. At least the agent I dealt with in Phoenix who was also an Atlas agent and we were using for short term storage of our goods called me a few weeks after we moved in and asked me if I needed any assistance with our insurance claim. Our Canadian agent could have shown some support as he also knew how upset I was with the move.
I would not recommend using this company to anyone. Even the guys that were loading our move had little good to say about this company. What does that say!

Many broken items, missing parts and things taken apart and broken. Only token compensation after many telephone calls. We saw them drop a box marked fragile. They rushed away with many items not put in place.

I hired AMJ for my house move - it went really well. The crew out of the Barrie office did a great job and worked extremely hard on a hot day. I have moved before, and the key is to be well organized and ready for the movers. The quote was exactly as promised. I would recommend them again !
