I was recommended Maritime West Construction (Rob) by a local deck material supplier with a showroom and samples. Rob stopped by the next evening to discuss the project and I was impressed by his knowledge and advice. A detailed quote with the options discussed was provided same day.

A brand new deck in one day. Didn't think it was possible - a full demolition of the existing deck, screw piles, new joists, composite decking and railing. I can’t believe how fast the crew worked and their teamwork was impressive! Some details included hidden fasteners, dark border edges, new steps, fascia attached with accents. Wow!

The work was completed within 3 days.
I had an 8x20 deck built with aluminum railing. Screw piles were done. Also a deck/ landing for my side door with 10 steps.

Robert Clerk and team did a great job over the Xmas holidays completing a gut and rebuild. We had used his firm to build a deck previously and his services continue to be outstanding.

I contacted this company through a local building supplier, who highly recommended it, to do a deck extension (7ft. x 14ft.) to an existing balcony. That was a mistake. I met with his estimator March 26th 2018, for a preview and pricing on the project. I did not feel that his estimator (Blythe) had a good understanding of construction at that time but went along with some of what he proposed as far as the details of the project went. I made a few minor changes to my plan along the way. I met with Robert (the company owner) once, prior to start up, and never saw him again. The project was to start before the end of May 2018. Part of the job and pricing was to include a detailed plan and building permit as required by the City. I have never seen either. To date I don't know if my project will pass town inspection. The only drawings made up were sketches, not to scale, that I drew up. The job was to be finished before June 16th, 2018, according to the estimator, when we were going on holidays, but didn't get underway until July 10th. The job wasn't completed until almost mid October, with lots of unexplained delays. We had lots of emails, texts, and calls between the estimator and myself but only heard from Robert by phone a couple of times and never saw him on site except that first visit before it all started. I don't believe he had any interest in the project except to get his money. I paid by two postdated cheques, 50% up front to be cashed on startup, and the balance on completion, which he cashed when he felt he was done. However, he hasn't really completed the job as I still have no copy of the plan and permit, which I again asked for in a phone call from Robert November 16th, 2018. I have records of all texts and phone calls with Robert and Blythe. I could go on but for what purpose?

We had Rob and his team come out to complete 2 tiled showers on our acreage. They were on time and prompt, had great communication throughout the project and very clean considering how messy renovations can be. They even completed other parts of our project that we didn’t even think of free of charge! I would highly recommend Rob and the team at Maritime West Construction.

Wow! This reno was worth every penny. They were able to tear down my old surround and drywall, do the plumbing to add pipe, re-drywall, tile, and add new shower/tub fixtures all in one day. Second day was a quick grout and silicone job and it was done! I'll be using them again to do the flooring for sure!

We had a thirty year old elaborate deck with huge timbers for an elaborate pergola. Demolition of the old deck and pergola was complicated enough in terms of how deeply integrated it was with the side of the house, and building a new deck to look good given all the old connection points was artistry. Rob (the owner) was onsite almost all of the time leading and participating in all of the work. Rob and his crew are all super friendly and they take great pride in their work. I definitely recommend Maritime.
