We live in a two story walkout and wanted someone to paint the main floor, dining, kitchen, office, 2 bathrooms, ensuite bath, master bedroom and hallways. From the beginning it was easy to connect with Jamie and he was very personable and friendly. He came by the day after our first conversation to take a look at the potential job. I felt he was the right fit for the job so we hired him. In June his crew painted taking five days to complete the job. On the fourth day I noticed that the walls were looking a bit streaky so they fixed it. After a couple weeks of drying I contacted Jamie to let him know the paint finish didn't look right. It was absorbing every single touch even with clean hands. He thought it would take time to cure so I should give it a month or so. At that point it looked horrible. I gave it 3 months and I felt terrible contacting Jamie but thought how long I waited to have my house painted and how disappointed I was at having to clean it weekly. But there were many permanent stains as well that I could not even clean. Family members came for Thanksgiving and commented on how it didn't look professionally painted. So I wrote Jamie an email explaining my situation and within 2 hours I received a phone call from him. He was very kind and empathetic saying that he absolutely wanted to have the job done right. At that time he had heard a few concerns about the paint they were using (Sherwin Williams low sheen) and decided to switch to Benjamin Moore Regal. I was able to select my sheen - eggshell and he then allowed me to pick new dates and colours. His crew finished up here last Friday (Jordan and Les are great), leaving the house very clean and organized. The paint is already noticeably better! I haven't wiped a single hand print away! Jamie came by to ensure I was satisfied with the work. And we are absolutely are! Thank you Jamie! We have already recommended your company to others. Mistakes/ unusual situations happen but it takes a great owner to honour their work by fixing it.

We had the unfortunate experience of having our main sewer line back-up (no thanks to the City of Calgary) resulting in some water damage in our basement bulkhead and guest room walls. Originally we had scheduled Jamie to complete the insulation, vapor barrier, drywall patching, and painting repairs but unfortunately one of his trades had quit on him during the week we were scheduled to complete our repairs. Jamie did call me personally to apologize and indicated he was trying to find a replacement but did not want to compromise his quality for the sake of fulfilling our schedule; so we had to source another contractor to complete our repairs. After 2 FAILED attempts to do so; and 2 months of delay, we went back to Jamie again in hopes that he would be able to finish the incomplete/shoddy work that our original contractors had done. Thank goodness he was available this time and finished the work in 3 days time. Jamie was on-time, professional, and clean with our repairs as compared to the other contractors that we had dealt with he was AWESOME. Should we ever require any further drywall and painting repairs in the foreseeable future, Jamie would be our first and only call.

Fantastic Team. Excellent communication. No hidden surprises in quote. All work VERY professional (drywall, taped, mudded, sanded, primed and painted, made ceiling flat, added wall etc). Everyone took pride in work. They even had a cleaning service come in as part of the job. A really nice surprise. Would highly recommend this company, and will definitely be using them again.

My wife and I bought an older house and didn't like the popcorn ceilings. I tried doing it myself, but after 1 room, I decided I would hire a company. After reading many reviews about Call Jamie Painting & Drywall Services, I decided to get them over for an estimate. The price given was very reasonable. Because of that, I just decided to get them to do it. Jamie was easy to reach at all times and I was fast booked in for the work.

The work done was excellent. But what impressed me the most was how well the house was prepared for the work. When they were done, I had little cleaning to do. All of Jamie's team were excellent.

If I ever need more drywall work to be done, I will Call Jamie Painting & Drywall Services for sure.

Phenomenal job done with expertise! Jamie completed rough removal of popcorn, two coats of mud, prime and two coats of paint to a large area of ceilings quickly and efficiently. I was amazed at how little sanding was done because of his skill. This is the second area of our home which has been restored/renovated to a modern look. Look forward to having him back for the last area of our home next year.

Jamie and his crew were excellent and the quality of work and his wiliness to get the job done around our schedule. This included working over the weekend to complete the never ending 2 year mudding project in just 4 days (included priming and painting). Before I get into the review I wanted to make a note that Jamie has been having some trouble returning inquires via HomeStars so when you contact him make sure you either contact him directly via the phone number in his profile or include your contact info in the inquiry so he can call you back. I can even tell you he responds to inquires/notes left on his van as was the case while it was parked outside my house. This resulted in him picking up a job to repair water damaged ceilings across the street at my neighbour’s house.

As for my project, I originally contacted Jamie when I finally gave up (or was told depending on who you talk to) on mudding my basement which included walls and ceilings. The provided quote included cleaning up and finishing my mudding project as well as priming and painting. Given that some of the walls were in some state of progress already I was not sure what to expect, but once we got the quote which was very reasonable we agreed on having him complete the entire project. They were able to start two weeks after I confirmed, after just 4 days the basement was completed and painted. Thank you Jamie, you made it look way to easy and still leave me wondering why I waited 2 years to get it finished by a professional. The project was made complicated by two large curved walls, but he took the time and effort to make sure they were perfect and was willing to touch up places where I saw some minor defects or in the case of the yellow paint not covering the walls completely he applied a third coat. He even went the extra bit to help me box in the last support post I have left due to indecision so the entire basement had a completed look (refer to red posts in attached pictures)

While he was working on the basement my wife and I decided to have him provide a quote on painting the entire house for curiosity sake. And for the last week Jamie’s painter (Tom) has been working through our house room by room. After 9 years and some bad paint matching the house is finally starting to return to look new again.

You have to meet Jamie and talk to him to understand why people give him such good reviews and why it was so easy for us to extend the original job since it is hard to find a someone that takes such pride in the work they do that he is willing to travel back to Ottawa from Calgary so he can continue to support the warranties of his past and returning customers.

As I type this review the painting of the house is almost complete and I have already scheduled more of Jamie’s time when he comes back in Mid-December to mud the final storage rooms in the basement that were full of everything I packed in them for the first mudding job. Jamie does split his time between Calgary and Ottawa but he has great crews in both cities so just contact him and he can give you dates when he can fit you in. I may be over selling but I need him back in December to complete my basement project and he usually makes the trip to Ottawa when his dance card is looking full?

Jamie was excellent to deal with. Very easy to communicate with either via phone or email. His wife very prompt in getting out to our house in order to review the project and to provide a quote the very next day. He was very accommodating with his schedule when coordinating during our renovation process. His crew was very friendly and considerate and did a fantastic job. They were quick to correct any concerns and made sure to return after everything was finished in order to complete touchups and any other issues. All in all was very satisfied with the level of service and the workmanship which was provided at a very competitive price and would definitely recommend to anyone.

I selected Jamie based on the reviews on HomeStars for the drywall and painting services for our main floor addition and renovation.

Jamie was very timely and consistent with quality communication. I cant stress this enough. I appreciate the fact that for simple matters a quick text would work but for more detailed correspondence he would use email and/or the phone.

From the very start at the estimate stage, Jamie or one of his guys responded in person or via phone immediately. From the time I called Jamie and gave him my estimated timeline and requested a quote it was less than 2 days before I had it in my hands. I was given a clear timeline for start date and how long each of the stages would take.

Jamie was running ahead of schedule on another job so offered to come a couple of days early. I pushed pretty hard to get done in time but was not able to. Jamie did not have any problem with that and showed as per the original schedule with no issues. Some guys may start another job then come back when they get a chance, but that was not the case with Jamie.

At the start of the first day of each stage (boarding, mudding and paint), Jamie would show up with his guys, introduce them to me and go over their timeline and let me know what to expect. Each stage was completed on time or earlier. The crews were professional and respectful of our situation (living through the reno) and took extra steps to have less impact on us.

I have 2 young children and never had to worry about language and they would leave my property and go up the street for smoke breaks. Very appreciated.

The quality of workmanship was good as well. I had constructed an addition and tied it into the new house as well as removed walls. They did a great job of doing things properly rather than just hiding with extra mud. As an example, I installed a couple of steel beams in my ceiling where I had removed walls. They took the extra step of starting the boards so that when they spanned the beam it would be in the middle of a sheet rather than near an edge.

The quality of the finishing and paint is top notch.

So, to summarize, Jamie and his guys were professional, on time, on budget and did a great job. They'll be back in couple of months to do the drywall work on my new addition.

Just to let you know that we are very happy with the job you did for us, the fixed gaps and transitions between old and new are absolutely undetectable, the knock-down ceiling looks fabulous.
We had a bit of delay at the start but once you took on the job yourself everything got done in no time, even worked through the weekend and lined up your painters right away so we could move forward swiftly. We would definitely recommend you for other jobs.
