Pro Hanging

Igal expertly hung 5 large canvas prints, an ungodly heavy wall clock, and mounted my TV. He took great care to ensure that the TV and prints were level and spaced properly. I'm also grateful for his assistance in suggesting how to arrange everything. I absolutely would have screwed this up on my own.

The booking experience was simple - Igal gave me a call right away to schedule and appointment and showed up 10 minutes prior to our appointment to start the work.

You can tell Igal has a lot of experience doing what he does - He hung two large mirrors, 1 large painting, 1 50" TV, and numerous pieces of small artwork/ frames, towel racks, etc. in under 2 hours. Value for money! (He charges by the hour).

He has all the tools necessary to get the job done, provided professional opinion on how to hang the objects on hand and was very nice to work with throughout.

He is definitely a pro at what he does! Came to our condo and hung up all our things without an issue. He does request that you arrange his parking for him, which was fine as we had visitor parking. We had 3 large paintings, 1 small painting, one clock, and one body length mirror that needed to be hung. All of these had to go into walls which were not simple drywall (metal sheet/concrete backing). He did it quickly and efficiently within 40 minutes. We paid him for the full hour ($120). Definitely would recommend him!

I own a loft with concrete walls and high ceilings and had no clue what to do with my artwork. A quick internet search connected me with Igal and in less than 24 hours my five pieces of art were on my walls. I appreciated his recommendations on spacing and height, as well as his prompt follow up to my scheduling request. I look forward to working with Igal again in the future.

Igal at ProHanging was excellent. I arranged to have a large picture hung in my mother's condo and a large mirror hung in my house. Both presented challenges: a concrete wall in the condo, old plaster in the house. Igal did an excellent, timely job. I'll definitely call him again when I have hanging jobs I don't feel up to doing myself.

I would definitely recommend Igal for any of your art hanging needs. He was very professional and really knows what he is talking about. We valued not only his work, but also his opinion on placement of our art on the wall. We appreciated the care that he took with handling the art, but also with our home / walls as well. He was at our home for approx. 2 hours and we were able to hang 7 large pieces of art in that time frame. We look forward to using him again in the future!

Igal just left my house and I can't stop staring at my beautiful wall! He did a fantastic job hanging 9 photos, gallery style. He made recommendations on spacing and height and it looks great! I would have never been able to do this myself. He was efficient and tidy and was done in about an hour.

Positives: Igal knows how to proficiently hang pictures, mirrors etc. He is knowledgable regarding hardware, hanging techniques and styles. There is no question he is accomplished in his field of work. He was punctual for each visit and came with all of the necessary tools.

Negatives: Attitudinally, Igal leaves something to be desired. He was a dour and humourless presence in our home. He grumbled about the work, was opinionated in a negative way and kept leaving our house before the job was done, even though the scope of the job was clear from the beginning.

Story: I explained to Igal on our very first phone call that we had many, many pieces of art to hang and that we needed to book him for a full day. Visit 1: I showed him all 45 pieces, with each painting already positioned on the floor exactly below where we wanted it hung. After 5 hours (including a lunch break), he announced he had to leave. The job wasn't done, but we didn't grumble. We did, after all , have a lot of art to hang. We waited 4 days for a second visit. Visit 2: I reviewed, once again, the remaining pieces to be hung. All of the same paintings were still positioned exactly as per Visit 1. After a couple of hours, Igal announced he had to leave. Huh? He knew the scope of the work, so we found this confusing. We waited a full week for him to come again. Visit 3: Igal came for two hours and once again announced he had to leave. We had one painting left to hang and another to adjust by 2" and yet he refused to stay to finish the job. To be clear: we did not ADD any art pieces. The list of 45 paintings (plus one mirror) remained un-changed. We also did not CHANGE where we wanted them hung. We did not even ask for a lot of after-the fact adjustments. We only requested that two pieces be hung slightly higher. Igal altered one and left on Visit 3 without doing the other. We found this behaviour bizarre. We always paid Igal in full at the end of each visit. We were courteous to him. We listened to his opinions and followed his advice. We offered him beverages on each visit. We were not happy with the way we were treated in return. Bottom line: his work is good and his attitude is bad.

Igal did a wonderful job hanging a large, fragile art piece in a difficult-to-reach location. He is calm and competant AND he gently suggested that we should consider hanging it on the opposite wall. He was right!

Igal finished a difficult job in under one hour. We will hire him again. Worth every penny.
