Lemon Tree Landscapes

Used Lemon Tree for my sod install and planting design that I had thought up of. Lemon tree worked with me on the design. Thankful tips on what would work from my design and what would not. Love my backyard now. The sod and planting service completed fall 2018. Clean precise process which I like. Thanks Shawn, Ian & crew.

I hired Lemon Tree based on a referral. I did my research to back the referral, as well. I’m very happy with the results. I received their services in June 2019. The crew were so polite and did a fantastic job of cleaning up. Ian, one of the owners of Lemon Tree, sent me Instructions soon after the work was complete. My lawn looks great!!
Couldn’t be happier. Will recommend to others.

Project was to redo the lawn... uproot some tree prepare kitchen garden and have a pathway...
Was promised moon but was not really happy with work and responsiveness ..
1. Lawn leveling could have been better, I believe lot of corners were cut (not sure if enough fresh soil was laid) in raising the lawn level. The lawn is sunk at so many places ..... not as promised
2. Grass sod layout was relatively ok.. however there are gaps in the SOD and I can feel the gaps when I walk bare feet on my lawn.. also mid project was advised that the initial estimate and measurement were done in error and I have to cover further additional cost for about 800 sq ft..
3. Avoid doing pathway by all means... they are exceptionally poor at that and expensive.. if you do engage ask for pictures of the job they will do.. I was fooled into believing a touch stone2stone pathway will be done but ended up getting a pebble pathway with few stones laid on top. When I raised the concern, was told by Sean that they would put a garden edge on lawn side and a timber retainer on the garden side so the pebbles would fly off either way... still awaiting after two months for the GARDEN EDGE... and to top it Sean won’t even respond to my requests anymore... I really feel like a fool to have made full payment to him in good faith..... Garden retainer is another classic .. half way through they simply placed the timber on the garden with zero harnessing... even a kid would not do such a job..... the work is really a regret for people with some consciousness... It’s a shame that after paying 12k for the job to Sean and team I have to will have to redo the job on my own..

4. Garden bed preparation was another disappointment . My hard bed clay soil remains as is. Apparently only a thin layer of triple mix was laid on top. The water just stand on the garden bed..

Overall I would say a very ordinary professionalism. Would not recommend.
Sean’s promise that he would not leave before he makes you happy are really hollow... do not fall for them...

I recently contracted Lemon Tree to remove my old front lawn and install
fresh sod on parts of my side lawn as well. Some of the sod that was installed was not fresh but already a dried up yellow which contrasted badly with the green sections. In addition some of the rolls of sod were not laid close together so now you can see lines separating sections of sod. With a largr group of eight people to do about 1K sq ft. you would think a better job. paying closer attention to detail would have been done.

Great work!! They completed my front and backyard. The crew levelled the area well. We needed proper drainage as we had water pooling in the backyard specifically. The lawn turned out so nice. Thank you Sean, Ian and team.

Very professional crew. This was the 2nd visit because I had miscalculated my lawn area and they did not have enough sod to install, so we had to set up another appointment. For our 2nd appointment, I had prepared a handful of questions to ask, and the gentleman (Nick) addressed every single one. So far the new sod looks good. I was told the installation will take about 5hrs, but they were done in 3.5. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

We found lemon tree Landscapes on google and homestars. The quote and invoicing process was sent through their online system. Easy, concise. The guys were on time and polite. They cleaned up my property after they finished which I was a huge fan of. Lots of other trades I’ve dealt with have left garbage and work waste behind which I never understood. Cheers guys, my place looks great!

I used lemon tree for my backyard landscape project. Sod and small patio. They both look great. I am pleased with the results. This project was completed in May. My neighbors are now having their property completed by Lemon Tree as well. Thank you, thank you!

Contacted Lemon Tree through another site. Saw that they were on homestars as well. Great service. Realistic price for the work to be completed. Love the results. Sean, Ian and crew were efficient and clean. Thanks guys. This was for work done in Etobicoke Ontario 2017. Gave instructions for taken care of the lawn going forward.

We had LTL come by in Oct 2018 to install new sod, river rock bed and some plants. They ensured that sod will be leveled with the interlock and graded away from home.

So where do I start....after stressing my concerns that the sod was poorly installed (gaps between pieces of sod & higher than interlock), they said the gaps will disappear and grass will level after winter. I’m not a professional landscaper but I’m told by others that have had new sod installed that this job was not done properly. So we continued to follow the post-install instructions and waited for winter to pass.

After the snow had melted and it was time for early spring fertilizing I knew that what they ensured us will not happen. Gaps between sod got worst and entire lawn had yellow/brown bald spots. We had grass there previously and I’ve had my fair share of maintaining it so it’s not my first rodeo, but when we sent them pics of the effected areas they told me to buy EZ Seed to fix it. I understand that lawns need maintenance over time but really??? I’ve attached photos below. On grass that was just installed I find that hard to believe that it came down to the owners “poor” maintenance or winter damage. Even after mowing and EZ seeding bald areas the grass still isn’t worth looking at. Yellow and brown in some areas and green in others. Btw...I’m mowing the lawn at the second highest setting and clearly the grass isn’t leveled properly. Also older plants that were there are coming out under the newly laid sod. So clearly the dirt wasn’t prepped prior to install.

After giving the grass more grass food, fertilizer, Lawn Rescue 911, EZ Seed, we let a few more weeks go by. No real improvements to say the least. I sent a message to LTL, and got back a generic reply that I found very condescending (attached below). I’m sure this is a reply that has been cut and pasted to a few clients already.

Amongst other things, like high markups on plants and river rock, and less then helpful response I would strongly NOT recommend these guys to anyone. But if you want a lawn like the ones in the pics below, feel free and call them.

To LTL: please don’t reply back to this review, like you’ve done with previous ones saying that you were disappointed to read it. You should be disappointed with the poor work you guys charge people for.
