We smelt gas in our newly purchased home. We called Enbridge who found the leak was originating at the shutoff valve to our furnace. Enbridge left a warning tag and turned off the valve. I looked for a few quotes to repair the valve and Dan replied within hours of me sending the request (on a Sunday) and he arranged for Ramin to be onsite the next day at 11am. Ramin was very helpful and changed out the valve that he said was very old. He noticed a similar valve to our hot water heater and asked if he should change it at the same time. Since it wasn't much more because he was already there I said yes. We haven't noticed any gas smell in the 10 days after the repair.

Fast turnaround time from date of contract to installation was 5 days. Attention to detail first class. Dan the owner, handles quotes and sales. He understood our requirements and took the time to outline the various models and options. Loved the fact that he had a permanent team(s) of install technicians that had many years of experience and training.

Choosing Air Leaders:

Air Leaders replaced an aging furnace, air conditioning condenser unit and hot water tank with a new 2-stage furnace, a/c unit, and tankless hot water heater. Before commissioning this work, we obtained several quotations. There are three main reasons why we chose Air Leaders over the others:

#1 Dan came to our home in person to look at our house and talk through our challenges and options before providing a quotation. None of the others did this, but relied on photos that they asked us to send to them. (Based on the communications and quotations, I dont think the others really gave our specific needs much thought, and instead provided more generic quotations). Our older townhouse in downtown Toronto posed some unique challenges, so the attention to detail that Dan provided was appreciated. Dan was generous with his time and provided candid information and guidance about the installation arrangement, equipment options, pros/cons and price/benefit, with zero sales pressure. Although Dan did not do the installation work (one of his crews did), he clearly has extensive technical experience and knowledge and is not just a sales-person or customer-relations person.

#2 Many favourable reviews on HomeStars gave us some confidence that we might be able to have an experience and installation similar to what others have described here.

#3 Air Leaders price was competitive with the other quotations, for comparable equipment.

Preparation:

In advance of the work, Dan told us what he needed us to do to prepare for their arrival, and we did our best to do what he asked. This is an important part of the success of any installation and I would recommend that any homeowner do a good job of preparation for any similar project.

Installation Day:

Amir and his assistant arrived at 9:30am as scheduled and quickly got to work. We briefly reviewed the plan with him, and made ourselves available to discuss any matters that arose during the installation that might need homeowner input (several did). We were impressed with the amount of hustle and after a solid 11-hour workday of constant activity they were done. The equipment is neatly laid out and makes the most of the limited available space for our unique situation. As for our equipment choices, its been less than two weeks since the installation so I cant comment on the long term aspects of the equipment, but our initial impression is positive.

Final Thoughts:

I highly recommend Air Leaders based on the experience we had. As noted we were pleased with the process from quotation and initial advice through to completion of the installation, and with the clear and prompt communication throughout. On the homeowner side, I recommend asking any questions you may have early in the process, and being sure to look after any preparation details that are your responsibility, before the installation. Doing so will make it easier for the contractor to do a good job for you.

Air leaders replaced my 20 year old 120 volts through the wall, single head AC unit. The installation service and sales information was excellent. Dan arrived at my house the day after I sent a request for a quote to review my current AC and to explain options (multiple heads, heat pump ect.) Dan explained to me what they needed in terms of electrical to upgrade my AC to a 240 volt higher efficiency unit. Their price was competitive and the installers arrived on-time and installed the AC in 2-3 hours. I have been running the AC for 3 weeks and so far so good. The installation looks solid but I cannot comment on the long term reliability of the installation or unit. I would recommend Air Leaders to family and friends.

We had a great experience working with Dan and his team. Dan was friendly and easy to communicate with. His team arrived early in the morning and installed our two wall AC units without any issues. Both units are working great and have made such a difference in our bedroom temperatures especially during the most recent heat wave. Would definitely work with Air Leaders again!

Had an error code come up on our tankless water heater on friday night of the long weekend. Dan responded to our call, showed up and resolved the issue within a couple of hours. Great communication and great service!

Great experience with Dan his team. Dan came out himself to look at our property and figure out our needs. He has a no-pressure, practical approach and did not try to push anything on us. Once we settled on a plan he moved very quickly to get the necessary equipment and arrange the logistics for the install - project went from quote to completion in under a week.

His installation team were efficient and professional. The workmanship is of high quality. They worked well to integrate the compressor into our property in a way that it was unobtrusively placed while still being convenient to service. Dan checked in regularly and also followed up after the install to make sure that all was well. All in all a great experience. Would recommend.

We were delighted with the work done by Dan and his team in the installation of our new furnace and tankless water heater. Dan was very thorough in describing the pros and cons of the various options. Our installation proved to be very challenging but the team worked solidly for around 12 hours to get the job.
