Green Side Up Contracting

We recently had our fence completed by Green Side Up. My parent’s place was one of ten homes that had their fence replaced. We began looking for a contractor last year – admittedly, Green Side Up was one of our top choices last year, but not the contractor we initially selected - an outcome when 10 neighbours are voting on the selection.
Circumstances this year led us to contacting Jay at Green Side Up. From the initial meeting and consultation, I felt vey comfortable in proceeding with proceeding with the job. Jay was very professional and took his time to explain everything before, during and after the job was completed. He was diligent in keeping us up to date if there were delays in the start date.

Because I wasn’t onsite everyday, my interaction with Jay’s team was limited. However, the couple of times we did speak the team was very professional and assisted in ‘clarifying’ any misunderstandings that may have occurred during the job.

They say that everything happens for a reason. I'd like to thank the initial contractor for going 'awol'. We got another chance with Green Side Up and result was a great looking, high-quality fence! I’d would highly recommend the Green Side Up team!

I’d like to thank Jay and his amazing crew, Daniel, Travis and Corey as well as Brett who came to lend a hand, for building beautiful, solid fences for me and 12 of my neighbours! Coordinating that many folks was no easy feat, but they handled it like the pros they are.

We used HomeStars (great site), and originally selected another fence contractor in 2020, based purely on a slight difference in cost. Wrong! In my experience, whenever possible, pick quality over cost. You’ll be much better off in the long run. I thought Jay was the better choice then, but majority rules. Well, that contractor didn’t have a steady supply of lumber like Jay and kept pushing the job later and later until it was too late to get it done in 2020. That was a blessing in disguise! In April 2021, I rallied the neighbours, and we called Green Side Up instead. We learned that Jay never stopped building fences all through 2020 because he had a steady supply of lumber, straight from the mill. After a couple of calls and meetings, with Jay answering all of our questions, we were ready to go.

The crew was friendly, accommodating, and the workmanship was outstanding. Except for a little inclement weather, the job stayed on track, and was completed in a timely fashion. Also Green Side Up has a 10 year warranty which is unheard of!

If you want a fence that will stand the test of time, quality workmanship and look gorgeous, Green Side Up Inc is the only contractor you should consider. You will not be disappointed. Now, I’m off to admire my new fence. Stay safe! Connie

We along with our neighbors got installed new fence. Jay and his team did a great, marvelous and professional work. we are really happy and satisfied with their installation and final product that looks great. we strongly recommend others also who want to install their fence.

Our driveway, concrete front porch, walkways, and backyard patio were in a bad need of repair. We were glad to be recommended Green Side Up. Jay was very thorough in explaining our options for pavers, stone steps and flagstone slabs for the porch while Rob ran the whole project as a real professional. We asked for and had some changes added in-flight. There were challenges with the availability of the materials that we preferred and Green Side Up made huge efforts to procure the pavers from a supplier that was at least an hour and a half away from our house.
If we had another house, we wouldn't have hesitated to turn to Green Side Up again.

Just have my new fence installed. It looks great! my old fence fell a few years ago due to the strong wind. I think that I have made right decision to select Green Side Up for the project. They did a fantastic job from beginning to the end. Throughout the project, the crews were patient to answer our questions and addressed promptly issues & concerns brought to their attention. Green Side Up replaced our backyard fence along with several other neighbours. Jay coordinated two site meetings and walkthrough, explained and answered all questions. The crew did a great job, worked around all gardens, sheds and patios with very minimal damage to plants etc, answered all question and resolved all concerns. We recently contracted Green Side Up to replace the fence surrounding our backyard. This required coordinating with several neighbors as we had shared fencing. Jay organized a walk through with all the neighbors, explaining the services they provide, materials and processes, as well as timelines. Shortly afterwards he followed up with individual quotes as well as a start date. Two weeks prior to start, a second walkthrough was performed with the project manager and locations for posts marked. The first day the crew showed up early to dismantle and remove the existing fence. On day two the Bobcat auger arrived. Despite the fact that the equipment was substantial, our soil conditions were terrible: heavy clay, filled with bricks, cement blocks, and boulders. After hours of attempting the dig at several different locations along the fence line, work was stopped. The crew had already contacted the office early in the dig to advise on the soil conditions and develop a backup plan. The team reached out to all the property owners to review the situation and advise that an excavator was scheduled for the next business day. The work was grueling and temperatures soared, but the crew dug-in (literally) working long hard days, and somehow managing to maintain pleasant dispositions. They provided regular updates as work progressed and took time at the end of each day to clean and organize the site. We are extremely pleased with the quality as well as the aesthetics of the fence. The crew were polite, and highly professional under a difficult situation. We’re very appreciative that the team could pivot so quickly and keep the build on schedule. We’re also delighted that despite the need for additional equipment and time, the budget was not impacted. We would highly recommend Green Side Up, we are delighted with the quality and workmanship of the final product.

Its never a good time to tear down and rebuild a fence, especially when you have a dog to deal with but as promised, I was not without a fence for too long.

After Summer 2020 during the pandemic, we knew we needed a total backyard revamp in order to enjoy our space at home with our kids. We decided to install a pool, but we needed new deck, patio, and fencing. We wanted a trustworthy, experienced, and organized contractor for the job with good reviews. I'm so happy we found Jay and Green Side Up! Jay started working with us on a plan last Fall, and construction began in the Spring of 2021 as promised. We knew Jay was knowledgeable, professional, and also so friendly and personable. His reviews were excellent and we got everything we wanted. The quotes were fair, timing was reasonable, and his team was awesome to have working for us. Clean, attention to detail, friendly, fast, and a real pleasure to have in our yard. Our job was a big one, and lots of moving parts. Jay was constantly popping over, calling, checking in, to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the ongoing work. I highly recommend Jay and Green Side Up for all outdoor reno work, customer service was 100% and the work speaks for itself, it's high quality and perfectly constructed.
