...we had always had an issue on the side of our house with weeds coming through the makeshift walkway that we had made of potato stones. In trying to address the issue again this year my wife was determined to remove the stones and then lay down new landscaping tarp to try and combat the problem. Since Absolute had done some work for us in the past we reached out to them to quote doing the side yard with some pavers and clean it up permanently instead.
Eric was instrumental at providing recommendations for material so we agreed to the a quote with Absolute. We were very fortunate to have Bryan assigned to work on the job. He took great care to help us optimize the layout of the stones and even made some suggestions on material that he had used in the past for where the downspouts drain. Bryan ended up doing a super job laying the pavers while ensuring a specific grade and ensuring maximum coverage to ensure that the weeds didn't return. We'll definitely be going with Absolute again in the Spring to do the back yard patio as well as the steps and landing out front.

We hired Absolute Home Services this Summer to paint the exterior of our window frames and seal our brand new cedar deck. The Absolute Home Services’ staff was courteous, responsive, punctual, and the crew on site was also accommodating to our requests on the job. We can say that Absolute Home Services has good customer service. Unfortunately, the quality of their work was poor.
Although their quote clearly included preparation of surfaces, such as: scraping and sanding loose paint, priming bare wood, caulking, power washing deck and light sanding of cedar boards, none of these tasks was done. There was no preparation of surfaces whatsoever, not even dusting them off before applying paint/sealant.
On the morning the crew would start working on our deck, Ali indicated that they were not prepared to do sanding. We were under timing pressure due to weather conditions, since the forecast had called for rain the following evening and the sealant required 48-72 hours to properly dry. We did not insist on having the sanding done so the sealant could have the most possible of drying time. Mid afternoon that day Ali got a call and was instructed to go to a different job site to finish painting something. We objected to her boss pulling her out of our job since we had a fully exposed surface with tight timing for application and drying, knowing that her other job (painting) would not be impacted by the coming rain like ours would. After some back-and-forth we arranged to have Ali seal as much as possible of our deck before heading out to the other job site, and that we would finish the job ourselves. We agreed with Jeff to have a billing adjustment to deduct the cost of the surfaces of the deck that were not sealed, as well as having a deduction for the power wash and light sanding that were not done. Ali did her best to complete as much of our deck sealing as she could, working fast and staying on our job as long as her other appointment allowed that afternoon; she really tried hard (thanks Ali)… unfortunately, as it typically happens in a rushed job, she missed a number of surfaces in the railings and stairs, and looked like she did not applied enough material in some areas (single layer instead of double). Just a few weeks later, our deck has already silvering, which we had understood, should not happen for a year or two after sealing.
The paint on the windows has also started to crack.
We got a billing adjustment of 25% for the work not done. Our calculations had given us 30-35% to be deducted. We are busy people and we are selective in how we spend our time. We did not contest the incomplete deduction, but it became also part of our overall experience working with Absolute Home Services.
The pictures we attach show 1) the ‘drippings’ left behind (about half a dozen throughout the railings) 2) Transition lines on columns caused by not keeping a wet edge when applying sealant (two of the columns) 3) Silvering of deck boards at barely 8 weeks of sealing 4) Finishing quality of window frames.
We will not consider working with Absolute Home Services again.

These guys have been true professionals and done a fine job with the exterior and interior painting contract. They are always on time and very thorough in getting the job done.

I have now hired them for lawn maintenance on a regular basis.

Ryan always responds to my emails and questions promptly and the husband and wife painting team who came in to do the work were very courteous.

I would recommend them for any and all home servicing needs.

We looked at 4 different companies and Absolute Home Services was the only one that came out to the house, measured, sketched and reviewed everything when quoting.

They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. When I vetted their quote by a few friends in the industry they said it was very fair given the detailed line items.

Their communication was stellar throughout the process and even after it was done, they continue to check-in about watering schedules and other tips and tricks.

Very satisfied with the work and would highly recommend to all my friends.

We were really pleased at how promptly Absolute responded to our request for someone to come and assess the repair needed. Ilse was very knowledgeable and knew how to go about fixing the problem. Absolute was great. They were entirely flexible though bad weather, allowing us to work with our roofer. When roofing was done they showed up on time, and completed expeditiously. They're young painters, foreperson and project manager were exceptionally polite and neat. We'll definitely get a quote for our interior painting this winter.

Our experience with Absolute was fantastic from beginning to end. When we set out to get an estimate for landscape planning and services several months ago, we contacted several companies. Absolute's owner, Liz, replied promptly (on a Sunday if I recall correctly) while other companies either didn't respond or took their time getting back to us.

We booked an appointment with Ilse the landscape designer and she was great: she made herself available in the evening for a visit and listened attentively to our needs and wants. She got back to us with a plan and made changes based on our feedback. She was always responsive and respectful even when we needed to make some last minute changes. She kept us informed on the timing for delivery and start dates.

When the work started, the two primary landscapers, Brian and Justin, really shone. They understood that we had some neighbour issues and they were consistently polite and unperturbed by the neighbour's sideshow. They kept a tidy work site and explained what was being done and when tasks were scheduled and then stuck to their schedule. On the final day of the project, they did a super job of cleaning up. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Our yard and retaining wall look wonderful and it's reassuring to know that the work was done right, on plan and on budget. We highly recommend Absolute's landscaping services and would not hesitate to use them again.

Walked the property with Anna to explain what I wanted done; basically trimming up the shrubs, perennials and laying mulch. Anna was clearly well versed in the plant material, worked very efficiently, job well done! Julie

it is now about 10 month my house siding and garage doors were painted by Absolute Home Services and i have to report, I am not at all happy.
initially i gave a good review, however, since the job was completed, i now note areas on both the siding and the garage doors where they have not been painted properly, with the original colours clearly visible.
i also the paint lifting off on spots of the siding as not adhering to the original paint.
A full inspection was supposed to take place on completion of the project (scaffold or ladder needed) this was not done, i have to admit, to me it initially looked from the ground on quick inspect, however, could not see higher up until later when getting other work done.
There is a lot more i could write, suffice to say, I am not happy with the
or the after service i.e., lack of follow up, therefore, would not use or recommend Absolute Home Services based the project results at my home.
