Heeley Home Inspections

We used Mike in October for our home inspection in Hamilton area. We could not have been happier with the amount of time and attention to detail Mike gave us. He took the time to not only thoroughly inspect the house but also explained each issue to us in great detail. We truly appreciated this since this is our first home.

Mike was personable, friendly and very knowledgeable. I brought along my father who has built many houses and is an electrician by trade. Mike went through the house with not only my husband and me but also my father. We all were so content about the inspection even my dad gave him two thumbs up!

Mike was able to give us tips on immediate projects and ones that could be projects come the following year. He also found major issues that if hadn’t been detected would have cost thousands of dollars in the future. Mike was worth every penny spent! I would not only refer Mike to friends and family, but we would definitely use Mike again in the future. It can be hard to find honest and knowledgeable contractors but with Mike it was an easy choice!

Mike came highly recommended to us, and since we buying in a new city, Guelph, we decided to use his company to complete the home inspection for us. He was extremely thorough with his inspection and made sure to point out a few things that needed some work. His written report was thorough and easy to understand and we spoke on the phone to go over the results that he found. Even though we purchased our house in September, Mike checked both the furnace and the gas fireplace. As it happened, the furnace would not turn on. This was a concern for Mike and he made sure that we were aware of this issue. It turned out that there was a blockage in some of the interior piping and the seller paid for the work to correct the problem. This saved us both money and time. We are very glad that we used Heeley Home Inspections and would use Mike again and recommend him to both friends and family who were moving.

We hired Mike to perform the home inspection on an older house in Rockwood ON. House was marketed as 'All the work has been done' and due to it's current cosmetic renos my husband and I felt the home must be well-maintained when we put our offer. Within minutes of speaking to Mike, he brought some serious grading and water issues to our attention and throughout the inspection the list became extremely long with problems adding up including mold and a big issue with a backyard retaining wall. Mike even uncovered the fact that the basement was flooded previously which was never disclosed to us and seemed to be covered up by a recent basement renovation. In the end it became clear that we walked into a very bad deal and had no option but to walk away from it. We're very grateful for Mike's honesty and for keeping OUR interests in mind throughout the inspection. We were also so impressed with MIke's patience, knowledge, honesty, and how easy he is to communicate with/how well he explains things. He really took his time even drawing us sketches in some cases. We will be using Mike again in the future!

Mike was able to schedule our home inspection on short noticed. He was even early on the day of inspection. Mike was/is very through. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. I would and will recommend his services to anyone .

Mike was very detailed, professional, and even arrived at the house before we did. He made sure that we were aware about existing problems, potential problems, how to maintain or improve certain aspects of the house, and even discussed potential problems that a home inspection would be unlikely to detect. As a first-time homeowner, I really appreciate the time he spent explaining things that I would never have thought to ask. Although it was a weekend, he did not appear to be rushing through anything and I got the sense that he genuinely cares about doing a good job. Overall I would recommend.

Mike Heeley inspected our newly purchased home on September 10, 2013. I must say that I was extremely impressed with the way Mike conducted himself and how friendly and thorough his inspection was conducted. He was a true professional and Mike gave me good advice on all aspects of our new condo. Firstly, I must say I am one of those people that struggles to trust anyone, and am suspicious of everyone..... however, Mike's transparency and great work ethic were evident within the first few minutes of meeting him. Excellent detailed inspection and report, well worth it. A star service.

Can't say anything about Mike that hasn't already been said...very glad we went with him!! He is obviously knowledgeable and his professional service instills confidence. Felt good about the inspection and his approach...like a friend who knows his stuff and has your bests interests at the forefront.

I found Mike to be very easy to talk to. He has lots of knowledge and made me feel at ease with my purchase. He gave me lots of good advise and the report he sent me was nicely detailed and reminded me of all we discussed. He is not the 1st inspector i have used, but he will be the 1st inspector i use again and recommend.

I have had home inspections before, and felt they were never really thorough or useful. But Mike's inspection was great- thorough, detailed, and best of all, he very patiently explained everything during and after the inspection. I felt like I had a good understanding of the problems, exactly where they were, and steps to correct them.
I received the final report later the same day, and now have a detailed list of items to work through, complete with pictures and details for correcting the problems.
Best of all, we went back to the sellers with his findings and got a substantial reduction off the price!
