I inherited a loveseat and 2 beautiful chairs from my grandfather. He remembered these pieces in his grandparents house, and they had been shipped to Canada from England. The leather was old, split, and in places partially repaired. The burlap support pieces inside the pieces were sagging. My grandfather had tried to reupholster one of the pieces and given up as the brass tacks kept breaking off in the wood.

As pieces that were important to my family, I wanted to use these beautiful and comfortable pieces of furniture and restore them to to their former glory.

At Burkcraft, we got special one on one attention to help choose a beautiful piece of leather that accented the wood. We also had help choosing antiqued brass tacks that looked wonderful with the dark leather and older wood. Burkcraft did a beautiful job! They added a bit more cushioning and support to the seats making the pieces even more comfortable for sitting. The leather and brass tacks are fresh, clean and new, but not in a way that fights with the piece of looks glaringly new.

Berkley was enthusiatic about working on this piece, and really made us feel special and personally taken care of. We were told that this is the one place where other people love your favourite furniture even more that you do - that certainly felt true!!! I have no hesitation in personally recommending this company based on my experiences.

Around 10 years ago when we were living in a big spacious lofty apartment we had a very large leather L-shaped couch specially made to fit our living room. It was 10 feet by 8 feet and it fit perfectly into that space. Fast forward 10 years and we are now living in a house with normal sized rooms(!) and this couch that we love is simply too big. It's still in great shape though and we didn't want to get rid of it so we had a look on Homestars and found Burkcraft. Berkeley did an great job reducing the size of our couch to something more manageable (8ft x 7ft). He also cleaned the leather so that it now looks like a brand new couch! He was able to schedule us in quickly and did the job in a couple of days. We are very happy with the results. Thanks Berkeley!

I went to Burkcraft with my grandmother's chair from the 1940s. Together with Berkley and his wife, I picked a beautiful black leather and complementary rivets to repair the seat. I am very happy with the finished product. Timely service, reasonable pricing and lovely people.

Berkley recovered a very old mid-century modern piece exactly to our specifications. One of the foam pieces needed to be cut in a non-standard way, and the seating-base required work to bring the piece back as well.

Berkley's work on all accounts surpassed our expectations; not only was he able to reproduce the unusual piece of foam at a low price, but he also offered us an excellent price on leather and the work he did to the seating-base of the piece was better than the original.

Absolutely delighted with their work! They took 8 original chairs from 1960 and restored them back to their beautiful glory. Chairs are in our front office and have been receiving rave reviews from everyone who sees them. Great price, service and the workmanship is amazing. Highly recommended!

I have nothing but love for Burkcraft furniture. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They assisted me with reupholstering my sofa and chair. I requested a back cushion for added comfort, and nail trim which bought our sofa and chair back to life. The final product left my husband and I speechless. I have to thank Berkley and his lovely wife for being so friendly with us. I had a couch that was showing its age with major cracks and I was pretty much going to write it off even though it wasn't that expensive of a couch...but I became quite attached to it over the two years I had it, and dreaded the thought of throwing it away and finding something new. Berkley matched the material and colour perfectly and did a wonderful job at a most reasonable price and the job was done quite quickly. He laid out all options for me with respect to the repairs and it is obvious he knows his stuff and loves his work. I wish him the best for his business and hope he is able to expand. I definitely highly recommend him and would use his services again in the future!
