Stone Landscape and Pools

Jovian was a pleasure to deal with. Everything was as agreed. We were happy with the final product and would recommend his landscaping company to anyone. We will have him back next season to do further work for us.

From the get-go we felt we could trust Jovian, and he did a great job. He has great workers on his team, and was on site through the entire process, and make sure everything was done right. We highly recommend Jovian and his team. We would hire them again without hesitation.

We hired Jovian Miller (Stone Landscaping) to clear our weed-choked back yard, and build a stone patio, lay out gravel paths, handle the planting of eight trees and an extensive perennial garden, re-sod the lawn, and upgrade, repair and extend the existing irrigation system. Our experience was very positive. Jovian quickly answered my initial request for a quote. The job started on time and was finished in the time scheduled. Jovian was flexible in handling small additions to our project (examples: a gate, posts for a trellis). Jovian and his crew are professional, courteous, and respectful. I appreciated that Jovian was at the site working along with his employees each day. If I had any questions in the evening, Jovian was easy to reach by e-mail. Each evening our property was left very clean. Our back yard has been transformed into a beautiful space faster than I would have thought possible.

I was in a bit of a hurry to get rid of the deck in my backyard due to wildlife issues. I had decided on an interlock alternative over concrete. So I started from the top on Homestars calling landscaping companies that service my area. Jovian Miller (owner) was the only one who returned my call within an hour or so. Some didn't respond for days, a couple I have never heard back from! And Jovian answered the call in a way that I knew I dialed the right number.

Jovian was able to come out the very next day to see what needed to be done and to give me a quote. I found him to be very friendly, professional, honest, and forthright. He clearly knows his trade, and I had full confidence in his advice and work. He charged a fair price. Not the cheapest, and I would think not the most expensive (I can't say for sure about expensive though, as no one else responded to my calls!). He understood my circumstances, and I believe he moved some schedules around and stuck to his committment once we agreed to the work.

He worked most of the time with his crew. I have to say, they worked tirelessly. Having ripped out the deck myself in the hot sun, I can tell you Jovian and his crew earned every penny for those three days.

The work was done in three days, and it looks fantastic. I didn't really go out to enjoy the sun on my deck, partly because of the wildlife fears. I find I'm going out much more, enjoying my beautiful patio and walkway. Jovian also did some repairs to existing stonework that had settled over the years, and moved existing concrete slabs over to the other side of the house. The repairs he included in the quote, and moving the slabs was done for a very reasonable extra fee.

The crew cleaned up after they left, and you would never know that they were there working away. I liked that they respected my existing lawn.

Overall, a great experience. I was nervous getting this done, as this was my first time getting interlocking done. I've read about proper grading and making sure water flows away from the house. Stone Landscaping definitely knows what they are doing, and I'm very happy that they did the work I asked them to!

BOTTOM LINE: Jovian and his crew were awesome. They were extremely professional, personable, hard-working, and the final job was amazing. These pictures here are an honest representation of his work. If you're serious about having work done, get these guys in.

OUR STORY: My wife and I decided to do all of the rough work ourselves for a patio (approx 1000 sq ft) after calling local landscapers and receiving insanely high quotes. I wouldn't recommend doing the work yourself unless you have a serious plan, but it worked out really well for us.

We decided to have a company come in, to finish the leveling of the screening and lay the pavers, as well as do a few stone steps from scratch. I hopped on Home Stars and started phoning the companies that were ranked the highest.

Jovian from the start stood out to me. He answered the phone professionally (perhaps a small thing, but a huge difference from the 'Yup' I usually heard when calling). I explained the work we had done and what we were hoping to have someone in for. Jovian gave me a rough idea over the phone of how much it would cost (which was highly unusual, and extremely refreshing). He came out to our place that afternoon to see the work and was able to give us a precise quote on the spot (which wasn't far off what he quoted on the phone). We added another section of our property for him to do, a few days later, and between the two jobs the final total wasn't a penny over his initial quotes. It took him less than three days and we couldn't be happier.

After receiving many quotes for stonework in our backyard, we selected Jovian to do the job. His quote was at the low end of the range we had received. Jovian and his crew arrived at about 7:00am and worked tirelessly throughout the entire day. Their work was top quality and we are thrilled with the result. We were amazed at the efficiency of the crew. They definitely don't sit down on the job. They finished at 6:00pm and left only after hosing down the road, sidewalk our entire driveway and the new patio. There was almost no evidence that they had been there, except for the fabulous new stone patio!

We have seen other jobs in our neighbourhood (Leaside) and feel that Jovian's quality is a step above the rest.

I give this company a strong recommendation, we would use them again in a heartbeat. Jovian and crew, thank you very much!

"Stone Landscaping" was correct... from the dealing to the coming back as promised & his work was all my request.

In short these guys are great. Jovian, the owner, was involved from start to finish. He and his company took my drab and boring backyard and made it into an area I am proud to have people see and entertain in. The patio furniture was purchased while they were doing the patio so I could have people over the same night they finished. I have gotten nothing but rave reviews. I am the envy of my neighbours and friends

Jovian was filled with suggestions from the minute he saw the space in the fall. He didn't just order grey stone. We actually discussed colours, size etc.. In the spring he remembered what was discussed we revisited everything. He handled my pickiness and changes, without issue. His design was flawless and I consider myself excellent with design, the patio fits my modern, straight line type of design.

These guys work hard, are polite, punctual, personable, and take the time to do it right. They are VERY critical of their own work. I watched them lay stone, remove stone, re-level so many times I lost count. They even saw an issue with interlocking done by the previous owner and fixed it for me. They saw the issue and offered to fix it, I never asked. This attention to detail is what gives the perfection to the finished product.

Patios are not cheap and you need the right guys for the job. These guys are it. I will be a repeat customer.

Stone Landscaping recently redid our driveway and a walkway in the backyard and built a small patio. The driveway was a bit of a tricky job: it required building stone walls on both sides, it sloped down 6 feet or so, and required working around an old tree and a few other obstacles. The finished work looks fantastic. We are completely satisfied with the work and have received many compliments from our neighbours.
It was a pleasure to interact with Joe and his team throughout this work. From our first meeting, I felt very comfortable working with Joe. He is knowledgeable and presented options (complete with a brochure) without being pushy. He provided a written quote by email and it was easy to communicate with him via Blackberry throughout the project for small clarifications. They worked solidly from beginning to end of the project with no delays. When a small adjustment was required for one of the stone walls after the project was completed, Joe returned quickly and cheerfully to address it. I will definitely recommend Stone Landscaping to my friends and neighbours for their projects.
