We had a leak in the basement right after the big snowstorm.
Read previous reviews and called Chico.
Chico came and had a look. Very professional and polite.
Chico and his team were punctual, they fixed the problem and their rates are very reasonable and affordable.

I have a baby on the way when suddenly there is a leak in the basement. My biggest fear was mold settling in. I got 4-5 quotes on waterproofing that were insanely high. The price I was given didn't include the fact that I would have to remove my deck and air conditioner. Then a friend gives me Chico's number. Man, Chico is an angel...he quoted my close to $8000 lower and I wouldn't have to take apart my deck. Their guys tunnel under. The job was done in less than 3 weeks and evrything was left looking amazing. Chico and the people at Aqua Shield did a great job and I cannot thank them enough. I definitely recommend these guys, get a quote from them you will not be disappointed. Thank you again.

Shortly after we moved into our house I discovered puddles of water in the basement after the first heavy rain. I called Chico based on a recommendation from another contractor I had used for another job. Chico arrived within an hour and told me what he thought needed to be done. He gave me a quote and considering the scope of the work, it seemed totally reasonable so I gave him the go-ahead (even though he encouraged me to get other quotes and opinions). His crew arrived about a week or so later and worked pretty much seven days a week for around four weeks excavating the entire perimeter of the house down to the footing. They parged the concrete, put on a rubberized coating and another protective membrane to send the water to the newly installed weeping tile. There were a few glitches along the way but Chico was very attentive and made sure we were happy with how things were being handled. His brother, Rico, was onsite most days and I was really impressed with his desire to do everything the right way. Rico and the rest of the crew were just amazing.

We've dealt with many contractors since we moved into the house and they've all been really good. With few exceptions we've had no complaints. Aquashield is a step above. If you want your basement waterproofed, want it done right and want it done at a reasonable price, these are the guys you want to call.

Chico was punctual, polite and accommodating as well as having completed he job on time and with minimal disruption.

He also pointed out a rebate that we were eligible for which helped tremendously with the overall cost.

His quote was more than reasonable based on the fact that another well known contractor quoted twice as much. Chico and his company did an excellent job, were very friendly and happy workers. I had this job priced with another company and not only did they price it out of proportion but aggravated both my tenant and me with the 'degree of difficulty' it was going to require. Chico and his team not only were able to handle the job, they never complained, kept me and my tenant aware of delays due to weather conditions AND he did it with a smile. We had some problems with water leaking into our basement and Chico's team did an excellent job of repairing the foundation and doing a complete waterproofing job. We had the work done earlier this summer and haven't had any problems since, even with a couple very heavy rainstorms.

Chico's team was friendly, great with our neighbours and even worked over a long weekend to get the job done. I felt that their prices were very fair as well. I would recommend Aquashield to anyone.

Chico Umengan and his company, Aquashield, won this job after I got several quotes. He and his brother, Rico, were the only people who dug a hole near the foundation to see the footings and nature of the soil. That attitude of going above and beyond to scope out the job and promptly solve every problem carried on to the end. It turned out that we had to replace the old brick, load-bearing columns. They knew exactly what to do and didn't charge extravagantly for this and other 'extras' He has a great crew of slightly looney but nice guys who were unfailingly polite, helpful and quick to clean up. The work is excellent, the price was right and Chico is almost pathologically dedicated to doing the job properly and making the customer, me, happy. Good, 10-star people!
