Paul, the English Carpenter - did a fantastic job in constructing our new deck. The timeline was precise and the quality of the workmanship was outstanding. We love our new deck and the smell of the cedar makes us think of cottage country everytime we open the back door!

Frist rate guy. Honest, articulate, courteous...takes care around the house, shows up on time, and is realistic with his time and cost estimates. He did exactly what we asked him to, and would hire him back in a heartbeat. Great no-nonsense guy.

While working through this project Paul had great recommendations and advice on best practices which were greatly appreciated. Paul was very accommodating in creating a schedule that met both our needs. Paul the English Carpenter is a reliable and trustworthy tradesperson. He shows up when he says, does what he tells you he will do and is reasonably priced. From my limited experience with tradespeople this seems to be out of the ordinary.

I had some stairs at the back of my home that were in desperate need of repair and Paul came and built it as we discussed within a day. It was certainly a tricky job that other contractors or tradespeople didn't want to tackle.

I will have Paul come in again to work on other projects around the house.

Having recently moved into an older Toronto home, we have numerous projects with which we need the help of a talented and reliable carpenter. I truly believe we have found such an individual in Paul, the English Carpenter.

The first project involved making and installing a staircase to the basement, which was previously inaccessible. From our first interaction on the phone, Paul was always highly professional, keeping to his promise with appointment dates and times. His quote was highly competitive and provided in a timely fashion.

The staircase Paul built is beautiful - it is a shame it does not take a more prominent position in the house for all to see ! Paul consulted with us at every step of the process, informing us of our options and giving us guidance. His knowledge of codes is excellent and techinical expertise brilliant.

We are delighted with the final product and have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the English Carpenter. Indeed, he is coming back for many more projects in our home.

Paul installed new baseboards in my foyer and kitchen. It was a tricky job because of my uneven walls, but the end result is fantastic. I'd absolutely recommend Paul because his work is terrific, and he's very professional. I'm completely satisfied with his work, so I'd certainly hire him again.

I have been using Paul for a major renovation for many months now. He has been very accomodating to my needs and always proffessional. What started out as a simple framing job has turned into a full on addition to the rear of the house and a third floor addition. Paul has followed through on anything asked of him and his quotes are always reasonable. Most importantly, Paul answers his phone and shows up when he says he will. I have been dealing with a lot of trades people, and to find this quality in someone is absolutely key to not losing your mind in a renovation or new construction. I will post more upon completion, but so far I would no qualms whatsoever in recommending Paul the English Carpenter to anyone, including some friends who have also posted positive reviews here. That does say something. Call him, you will not be disappointed.

We moved into an older balloon frame home that needed to be supported in many spots on the main floor and basement. Paul completed every part of this projection beyond our satisfaction. Even the highly compromised areas were tackled with skill and precision. There was much discussion regarding all aspects of the work so we felt involved every step of the way.

We feel much better about what's behind the drywall.

Paul was recommeneded to us by a friend and was punctual and informative from the start.
We already had plans drawn up by an architect and Paul worked to them in order to finish our empty basement.
The Majority of the work was done by Paul apart from the electrical and plumbing which he introduced us to his preferred sub contractors who worked well alongside Paul and gave good practical advice and got the job done well.
The renovation process went as smoothly as possible and we were kept up to date on the progress and changes as they happened.
I would definately recommend this contractor and would use him again anytime due to his skills, attitude and knowlegde.
