Re Roofing Ontario

We had shingle damage from the spring storm. Reached out to our insurance and they referred us Steve. Insurance was able to cover the shingle repairs, however the sheathing was found to be detoriating. From out pockets we decided to have them replaced too. Steve and his team did an amazing job and offered great advice. We went with his suggestion to go with the maximum venting and we noticed a significant difference in the house. His pricing was reasonable. Overall, our roof looks good. His team was friendly and they cleaned up all the mess, and respected the propety. Will differently recommend them to friends and family.

We had been needing to do our roof for a few years, but couldn't get anyone to commit. We were having major issues with venting and each year we would have large icicles forming and even ice damming one year My wife finally found Steve's company Re-Roofing Ontario on Homestars. Wow! He knows his venting! He knew what we needed very quickly after viewing the roof area. Our vents were too small and too few. He was able to make some recommendations of better vents and he assessed the roof condition. We needed to replace many boards due to dry rot. We knew we were in good hands after talking about all these issues, since he was confident it would all be fixed. His guys came out soon enough and changed out all the bad boards and re-shingled our roof. That winter we had no icicles! The roof worked great. One issue we did run into however was one of the vents did allow some water in. This happened only when the rain was very heavy, so it could have been bad luck. Regardless we told Steve and he came over as soon as he could. He assessed the situation and quickly decided he would change the vent for another. He said we're his customers and he takes care of his customers. In no time he replaced the problem vent and we have had no issues since. This is another reason we recommend these guys. They come out when you have a problem. No we'll be there and not show up. Steve and his guys get the job done for real! Thanks Steve! We will recommend you to all who need roof work.

Steve and his crew had the difficult task of Re roofing my old trappers log cabin built in the 1940s . Steve had to custom cut every roof plywood board because nothing on that old roof was perfectly square. Even before that was done Steve had to open a part of my roof in order to resecure a critical cross beam that had come loose. Steve and his crew did an outstanding job and built my roof to last. I would highly recommend Steve for his quality workmanship that he takes pride in .

Due to the series of back to back inclement weather events early last summer, our schedule for re-roofing was delayed right to the time we were going to be out of province for a couple of weeks. As Steve had already come highly recommended, I approached him on the idea of sticking to the schedule but to keep in contact with me via email and progress pictures.

We could not have been more pleased with the process! Steve kept us well informed and when a few situations came up requiring a decision, he was clear, concise and informative which made the decision process easy. And despite another crazy weather event right in the middle of the project, Steve and his crew took it in stride.

What a perfect end to our trip to come home to a finished product that actually exceeded our expectations....complete with a 100% cleanup!

When Steve first came to inspect the roof, he went into far more detail than any other roofer. He paid special attention to the flat valley in the roof. Whereas other roofers would have simply re-applied bitumen torch-down roofing to the valley, Steve pointed out that bitumen was not intended for the acute angle of this valley. Instead, he installed a PVC membrane, which has a much longer life expectancy than bitumen. He also built a custom ramp to ensure than water drained out of the valley, and a custom metal flashing to seal in the top edge of the PVC.

Steve paid attention not only to the roof itself, but also to how the house was meant to function as a whole, including attic ventilation and insulation. He installed air intake vents to compensate for the lack of soffits, and high-performance exhaust vents. He also insulated the cathedral ceiling in the addition with closed-cell spray foam, and ensured that the wood still had room to breathe.

Steve and his team were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly, and always took the time to answer all my questions. Steve even gave very detailed answers through email.

Steve is very meticulous about his work, and he truly cared about the job as if he were working on his own house.

We were very impressed with Steve's responsiveness, reliability and professionalism. Steve took the time to explain in detail the work that was recommended to fix our leaking skylights, and when he noticed a deficiency in previous roof work we had done by another company (a ridge vent that was discovered to not be a vent at all), Steve took pictures to show us, and quoted a very reasonable price to fix the work. Steve is a lifesaver. I heard drips on my ceiling last night and he was quick to respond. He dropped by within hours, assessed and fixed the problem immediately. I have had other experiences with roofers on here that were not that great despite having high scores. These other companies had super-high quotes and minimums, plus they missed the issue that Steve noticed right away. I'm so glad I found Steve - he's completely trustworthy, and I will be keeping his info for down the road. He DESERVES a high score. Thank-you Steve & team!

Steve was great to work with, taking the time to explain not only our current issue (minor occasional leaks into upstairs bathroom ceiling), but what to watch for with our existing roof (especially after a recent renovation involving spray phone). Steve and his team arrived when scheduled, did a great job repairing the issue areas (the patches were totally seamless) and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards.
