As part of our condos outdoor space, we had a triangular area jutting out. We wanted to use it as a small dining area, but the interlock was completely uneven and sloping so it couldnt support a table and chairs. (Changing the interlock wasnt an option) Enter Custom Deck! Dany was quick to come by and check the area out and give us a quote. He was good over email to communicate with. It took a few weeks to get it done, but totally understandable given weather, etc. The team did the whole install in one day and did a great job! Its a custom space with a lot of angles but the new deck fits perfectly. Theres even space for water to drain off and the ensured animals couldnt get under it. Im looking forward to a summer of outdoor dining!

Very happy with Dany and his team from start to finish. I was told the project would take a week and they were bang on! My backyard space has been optimally utilised---cant believe the transformation!

A great experience from start to finish for our rear deck project. Dany took the time to understand my project sharing his 30+ years of experience. We had an unusual step-out, but he had great idea that we can easily swap in-or-out anytime. He did not just oversee his team from afar but, most importantly, was on-site a lot to ensure the foundation was properly dug and concrete poured (15 of them!). While we had challenges with the inspector and weather, Dany was on top of them and available on short notice to ensure the few issues were dealt with in a very timely manner. His crew was industrious throughout the build, explaining what they were doing, and always courteous to my wife and me. I highly recommend Dany and his crew at Custom Decks to build your deck!

Dany was contracted to replace my deck and do fence and gate repairs on both sides of my home. The deck was demolished and replaced with the work being well done. There were delays in the process however. Anticipating Dany’s response, ( based on other reviews), he would say “but I built you a beautiful deck” and that the delays were “out of his control”. Within his control or not, the continued “I’ll be there on such and such a day or week followed by repeated no shows with minimal, if any communications until I followed up, often multiple times, far outweighs the positives of the deck build and money spent. The fence work is another story altogether.
The fence and one of the gates were and are a nightmare. I have a twisted main post on the one fence and a gate that closes but latches into a fence board rather than a post as it should. The main post can be described as cosmetic, but for a contractor to accept such visibly diminished product speaks to a lack of pride in a finished product, at best. The latter is due to the two gate posts being misaligned by an inch. Dany’s response was that gate closes so there isn’t a problem. This gate is not professionally installed. I paid for and expected professional quality work as anyone would when such services are advertised on a contractor’s website, I received much less.
Despite repeated requests to have the gate closure fixed and promises to come out to do so and numerous “no shows” I have a gate that looks like it was installed by a sub-rate contractor. He has not honoured his warranty.
My experience with Dany leaves much to be desired. All the excuses I heard are already documented by other clients on the Homestars site. I experienced most of them and have string of emails to support me along with a phone log I kept. Dany even suggested that he really was a deck company and did my fence as a favour. His website clearly indicates that he does fences along with other outdoor structures in addition to decks. In addition he said he didn’t make any money on my fence – that reflects his quoting.
I should have held back a portion of my final payment and maybe my fence would have been “fixed before winter” as he promised. My late husband would have held back a portion of this payment and I simply trusted given the reviews I read on the Homestars site. Be really careful to read all the ratings before making a final decision. I certainly will going forward.

I hired Dany to build a fence and a garden box for a client and was so pleased with the work that I asked him to work on my own home.
He lovingly and expertly restored my Edwardian porch with great attention to detail and superior construction.
Dany and his team re-created an open screen fence without destroying the existing mature garden. He improved on the existing design so that it’s sleeker and more impervious to the elements.
Dany has polite, hard working crew. All were a pleasure to work with.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Dany, Dino and the whole crew are amazing - so fast, detail-oriented, professional and with a keen eye for design. They always recommended where to save money and where to spend a bit more for sustainability and made the whole process very easy. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and they are very down to earth. They have 30 years experience and it shows. We couldn't be happier with our new backyard, all thanks to Custom Deck Company!

For years we had bricks in our small backyard but time and tree roots wrecked havoc, so we put a deck over the entire backyard (except for building around two trees and a window well).

We splurged on Ipe and are glad we did. It is beautiful and durable. Also Danny's crew made it look like furniture. They installed borders with skill.

The job came in on budget for money and was only slightly delayed for time.

Honestly, I would have given this company a 10/10, but they opened the backyard fence to bring in materials and didn't re-link the fence once they were done building the deck. We have contacted D*** and other staff dozens of times, and we continue to be ignored or told "I'll come by this week". Extremely frustrating, because otherwise I would have recommended them to anyone looking to get this type of work done.

We are happy with our new composite deck that the Custom deck company built us earlier this year. Dino was onsite leading the crew and has great work ethic, as well as good workmanship. The actual time it took to build the deck was quick, however there were some delays due to complications related to the pandemic. I would recommend this company if you're looking for a professional specializing in decks and fences.

Dany and his team are the best in the city. They put together a beautiful gate to close off our yard last summer and were a pleasure to work with.

This year, when we had to remove a 15-foot section of the fence to do an unexpected repair to our foundation, Dany was our first call. He was able to squeeze us in literally the day after we reached out and did an amazing job blending the new section in with the old. Our neighbours were so pleased with Dany and Jake's work that they asked us for his contact information to see if he can help with some projects of their own.
