Scott was great to work with, and made my front lawn look exactly as I envisioned it. Great advice on options as well. Actual work team was professional, on time and fun to work with.

Last fall I started a rather complex landscaping project. After interviewing several companies I decided to go with Merlin Construction. I am so glad that I did. The project was completed on time and on budget. There were a few extras due to site conditions but I felt that these were reasonable. The crew that worked on my project were knowledgeable, personable and hard working. It is a difficult downtown site yet they managed to manoeuvre their equipment and materials while being respectful of the neighbours and my family. The guys were always happy to discuss any issues or questions that I had and they delivered exactly what was promised. Should you be fortunate enough to hire them - you will not regret it.

One half of our front yard’s brick retaining wall was threatening to collapse so we contacted several companies for rebuild quotes. All asked me to send a photo of the job and gave quotes by email, site unseen.

Merlin was the only company to actually come to the property to make an estimate. Good thing too. Owner Scott Munro suggested some excellent options to just rebuilding the wall. We chose his proposal to replace the entire retaining wall with Flamborough stone and to replace the existing concrete steps with Georgian Bay natural stone steps. To our delight the entire rebuild was comparable in cost to just rebuilding half of the old wall !

Allan and his crew were very professional in undertaking the work. They were friendly and patient with our questions about the job, arrived on schedule and left the worksite neat and tidy each day. The workmanship of the wall is excellent as well as the unexpected bonus of a re-sodding of the entire front yard not just the work area. We are very satisfied with the result. Neighbours and passers-by frequently make favourable comments. We highly recommend Merlin.

Alan, Bart and Scott did a terrific job on our project. We needed a company that would repave the driveway, install new front steps and do the landscaping.
They did a terrific job and worked with us to come up with some great ideas. They are great guys and they really care about doing a good job.

We hired Merlin during the summer of 2013 to renovate our backyard which was in need of a facelift. We were very impressed with the high quality of work provided and the level of consultation was fantastic. The Merlin crew keep to the estimated costs and timings. We are very pleased with our new outdoor living space, we will be working with Merlin again in 2014 to update our front yard.

It was a pleasure to hire and work with Scott, Bart, Alan and the rest of the Merlin Construction Ltd. team. My wife and I dreamed of accomplishing a beautiful backyard pool project for our family, and Merlin met...and exceeded our expectations.

These gentlemen are energetic, creative, technically savvy and skilled in their craft. At the same time demonstrating patience and professionalism from concept, design, quote, execution and finish. I truly enjoyed their company and very much appreciated their advice and expertise. The pictures speak for themselves (my apologies - I took these pictures after closing the pool and removing all of the patio furniture as the summer has come to an end, but at least you can clearly see the workmanship). They remained in constant communication with me as to their progress and what was in the pipeline. They kept me advised to their work schedule, and did their best to keep me and their other clients pleased. Communication is the key, and Merlin ensure that the client is kept informed and content. It was a busy time for our family as this project was under way, and my wife was set to deliver our third child. Merlin kept plugging away and I truly had faith in them. It's not often in the construction industry that the contractor instills that level of confidence and piece of mind in their client.

Right from the start we had a good feeling about this company. It helps breaks the ice when the representative that comes to your house has the same first and last name as you do! Scott and Bart both took the time to not only sell us what we needed but educate us at the same time, which we thought was very important. Once the job was started everyone that came to our home was not only professional but extremely respectful of our family, home and neighbours. Work progressed much faster than we expected due to the hard working nature of Bart and Alan. When they left each day everything was tidy and neat.
All questions we had (regardless of how silly they were) were answered without making us feel like we were not part of the process. All of our particular needs were addressed and we ended up with the backyard we wanted for the price we wanted.
