Clicklock Premium Metal Roofing

At the beginning prior to installation of my new roof, they were great. After subsequent re-visits to make repairs, they have still not repaired or remedied the damage they did to my back yard shed nor have they provided me with a warranty AND they refuse to get back to me. Buyer beware!

I have spent over 2 months researching over 12 roofing companies (both metal and asphalt). In terms of quality, value, warranty and proven workmanship, I decided to go with Clicklock Roofing. Asphalt products just don't last regardless of their warranty. I have a 40 year fiberglass shingle and I already need a replacement roof after only 11 years. I talked to some customers of an aluminum company that had a premium aluminum roof, and one guy told me that he dented his roof as a result of walking on it despite the company telling him that you can and would not dent. I knew I wanted steel. I spoke to 3 customers of Clicklock and all 3 were happy with their roofs and loved the look, warranty and professionalism of the company. I was SOLD! It has been 2 months since my roof installation and I could not be more happy. The peace of mind and curb appeal that I now have is truly priceless. I continue to get compliments from my neighbors who will make Clicklock their next Roof. Looking back, It was an easy choice in choosing Clicklock!

I was cleaning the leaves out of the gutters on my roof this past week and was reminded by the scratches on my roof that I hadn’t written a Homestars review on Clicklock yet.

Ontarians may remember February 2015 and how bitterly cold the month was. It seemed like it would never end and +1 Celsius was always a week away. Unfortunately, this was the month that my roof was scheduled to be installed. The workers worked slowly away at it. I was grateful for their dedication and that my roof would be installed on schedule. I was glad to not be the one up on the roof during the weather. My previous asphalt roof had been losing shingles during high winds in November. I booked the installation with Clicklock at the end of 2014.

I’m not sure if it was due to the weather or other reasons, but there were quite a few scratches left on my roof. And, my wife made the final payment to the contractor before I was able to return home from work and look at the completed project. Most all of the lower portion of my roof had scratches, as you can see if you look closely at the photos attached to this review. Clicklock did return to patch up the scratches with paint when the weather was nicer. They used an acrylic, not the Kynar that was applied in the factory. This ended up looking a little patchy (photo also attached). There was no way that they could cover every scratch as they would have to repaint most of the roof. But, they covered the more major ones. Finally, an employee came and replaced about 10-15 pieces. There is still a dent and minor scratches across the rest of the lower roof.

My biggest concern is over time if the damaged areas would peel or spread in some other way. These scratches are not noticeable from the ground, so I’m giving a passing grade. I’m appreciative of the effort that was made, but it is unfortunate to have after spending so much money on a small roof.

I knew I did not want another useless asphalt roof. My roof is very complicated and was concerned in getting a permanent metal roof.
Clicklock did not disappoint. The professionalism from the Salesman (Tony) to the very pleasant lady that gave me a welcome call. The crew were very hard working and worked very well considering how hot it was outside. They finished 1 day earlier than the scheduled 4 days and kept a clean and safe environment. I honestly expected longer because of how Steep and complicated my roof was. I am glad I will never need another roof again, but if I move, Clicklock will get my business...again! Looks great! Well worth the cost.

This spring, our asphalt-shingled roof announced that it was time to be replaced - again - by curling up its edges and shedding its granules. We had installed it in 1999 with a 25-year-warranteed product that had been highly recommended at the time. We were disappointed, therefore, that it had lasted only 16 years until we started researching online. There we learned that since asbestos was removed from asphalt shingles, many of them need to be replaced every 10 to 15 years; we had beaten the average life with ours.

After some deliberation, we decided it was worth the extra cost to go for a metal roof this time so we won't have to replace it again. We asked for quotes from 4 different roofing companies listed on HomeStars - 3 of which sent a representative to see our home and give us a quote. The fourth firm gave us a quote by phone after viewing a satellite image of our house.

Of the 3 representatives who came to see us, we were most impressed with Solomon from ClickLock. Before even coming to see us, he forwarded links to a CBC Marketplace episode about roofing replacement, a Mike Holmes discussion, and a video from ClickLock showing their installation process. He then arrived with a wealth of samples for us to examine and explained the pros and cons of each type. During our walk-around of the house, he also identified something that we had not mentioned but really appreciated him including in our quote - the roofs over our two outside decks both leaked and had resisted our personal efforts to seal them.

We ordered our new roof at the end of May 2015 expecting a 6-to-8 week wait for installation. To our surprise and delight, our installer Ben arrived during the last week of June and began the job. What a wonderful worker he is, too - despite a rainy week and his having only one helper, Ben completed our roof on July 4th. Throughout July and August, our beautiful new steel roof has resisted wind, rain, and thunderstorms, helped keep our house cooler in the heat, and - to our ears - has helped mute the sound of rain during some of the torrential downpours we have had.

We continue to be delighted to have met both Solomon and Ben and to have had them arrange and install our wonderful ClickLock Metal roof. We are thoroughly impressed, too, with the rest of the ClickLock team, including Adam and Brad, who support and inspect the entire process. We could not be more pleased with the entire project.
