Patricia and Robert make a terrific combination and provide the best quality consultation, product and workmanship. After having my floors done with them, I am convinced my floor couldn't have been done better. They know the business inside out and love what they do.
If you are not hiring them, you are missing out on the best service in GTA.
Oh and their prices are the most reasonable. Patricia made every effort to provide the best product in my budget and Robert is fun to work with.
We went with Vintage White Oak Cambridge Select V.

Excellent through and through. On time, no extras, high quality work. The guys showed up, did their thing, cleaned up everything before they left. Thank you guys once again. If there is antyhing else to be done in the future I know where to go for quality workmanship.

We are very satisfied with our new floor by Floorwood Solutions. Robert & Patricia clearly know what they're doing & take their trade very seriously. They were patient in answering our many questions while we were figuring out what flooring to use.

Their pricing was competitive with the other quotes we received. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. When the manufacturers ran into delays, they worked hard to find an alternative.

We had 450 square feet of Vintage solid sawn white oak hardwood laid in the Baroque stain. Non hand-scraped. It's beautiful. Robert (and the other installer) did a great job. Robert returned to fix a small squeaky area quickly as well.

We would use Floorwood Solutions again.

Just wanted to write a big thank you to Robert and Darek at Floorwood Solutions. Our new floors look absolutely stunning and we could not be happier with the results. They really make the house and we were extremely impressed with the quality of not only the floors but of the work of Robert and Darek. They did a fantastic job, they were clean and friendly and a pleasure work with. We could not recommend them enough to thank them for doing such a wonderful job. We can’t wait to have them back do to our upstairs!! Also a special thanks to Patricia from Floorwood Solutions as she was always very quick and helpful when responding to all of our questions we had about the entire process.

I just moved into a new house and had asked Floorwood to complete the flooring after we closed. Robert was great and even fixed some of the issues the builder had left.

We have received so many compliments on the floors and we will definitely refer our friends to Floorwood.

I highly recommend them and would also advise new homebuyers to not buy the hardwood with the builder and do it after..you save alot!!

I found myself forced to replace my hardwood floor following a big screwup by my old contractor in resanding my existing floor. I contacted Floorwood as a result of the stellar reviews they received on Homestars. I liked Robert right away and he gave me great confidence. However, I felt compelled to do some more thorough research and get multiple quotes, including from other companies reviewed on this website. I got quick responses from Patricia at Floorwood on numerous follow up questions I had. In the end, no other company gave me quite the same confidence as Robert and I'm thrilled to say, I ended up selecting them. The work they did was outstanding. Their attention to detail is incredible and as others have noted, Robert and Darek go above and beyond to get the job done right. They prepped the house, moved furniture, ripped out my old floor, fixed up and leveled my subfloor, cut doors, removed/reinstalled toilets and kickplates and did various other carpentry related work to ensure the floor is seamlessly installed. Robert was the only one who actually recommended not installing plywood on top of the existing subfloor, saying it was completely unnecessary. Others either insisted on it or highly recommended it for various reasons, including getting a more leveled look and to get rid of the squeaks of my old floor. I can assure you that my floor no longer squeaks in any place AND it looks leveled. Floorwood's price was competitive, but in the end, they saved me money, as I did not require a subfloor. In addition, this allowed them to fit the new floor under the existing rads (though not an easy task). They came early and worked hard all day, but made it seem easy. I wouldn't have known how hard they worked until I stayed home one of the days. Everything was cleaned up by the end of the day. My new floor looks so beautiful and this was such a painless experience, that I am now considering doing the upstairs floor as well. They take care of everything. Thanks for a great job and all the handholding throughout.

After reading the reviews here I decided to go with Floorwood.
Robert and Darek just completed two floors (about 1300 sq ft) of red oak Vintage Estate flooring.

These guys not only did a great job, but Robert and Darek are both a pleasure to deal with. They were able to do things another bidding and well known company said could not be done.

They also helped move furniture and replace them when the job was over.
Let me say, it's no picnic getting your floors done while living in the house. It is messy and noisy. But Robert made the job as painless as possible under the circumstances.

I would hire them again and have already recommended them to two friends.

We have a 50 foot yacht. We had great difficulty getting anyone to come look at the job of putting hardwood into the salon. It was a small job but lots of detail. Floorwood came down, quick quote, started right away and finished on time. The outcome is spectacular. They are true crafts people. Very meticulous and very clean. If they did that kind of a job on a boat I am absolutely sure they can do anything. If you don't hire them you are making a mistake.

I wanted to replace the old worn, squeaky, un-level, and dipping, hardwood floors I had on the first floor of my home, but after getting a few outrageously overpriced estimates, I decided to take on part of the project myself. Having never done this type of job before, I wanted to do some research first. After doing a lot of reading, I found a flooring post on the “Redflag deals” forum that is hosted by Patricia and Rob. After reading hundreds of the posts, and asking a few questions, (that were answered very clearly by Rob) I proceeded to remove all the old flooring, and begin the levelling/flattening, and screwing down of the sub-floor. ( In prep for the laying of the new hardwood) For those of you that may be thinking of DIY... Levelling is a very tedious and time consuming job! (That is why it cost so much!.) I was fortunate enough to have an open basement ceiling, so I was able to shim some of the floor from below, but still had to lay sections of plywood (feathered out with shims) to get the floor as flat as I could. I was dealing with a section of floor that dropped 1 1/2” in one spot, and a 3/4” drop in another. (Old house that has settled over the years)

After I completing the work, I contacted Patricia about getting an estimate to lay the new hardwood. She promptly returned my e-mail, and gave me a ball park estimate based upon my calculation of the square footage required, using Vintage 3 1/4" Hickory Old Mission Solid Sawn flooring. I really wanted to see some colour samples, to see if what I had picked was going to match my stairs, so Patricia arranged to have Rob come out with some samples, and to measure. I was also concerned about whether I still had to lay plywood over the old plank sub-floor, and wanted Rob's opinion. Robert and Darek showed as arranged, (and on time) and were quite pleasant and easy to deal with. They showed me that the Red Oak Bourbon Solid Sawn Estate was a better match to the stairs, and let me know that the floor was flat enough, and I didn't need to lay any plywood. (saving me some time and $$$)
They then measured, and said Patricia would get back to me with the estimate. She got back to me later that evening with the new estimate. (Which was less that the one based upon my measurements.) They were by far, much cheaper than the other estimates I had gotten in the past. I gave them the go ahead, but was concerned about the colour, after going online to look at a sample again. I contacted them and expressed my concern, and Robert actually came out the next day, and brought a fresh sample with him to confirm the actual colour.

When the installation day came, Robert, and Darek, both arrived at the time that was arranged, and completed the whole job and cleaned up that day.

Having worked in the trades for years, I set the bar pretty high for the quality of work I expect to be done, and being somewhat anal retentive, (LOL) rarely let anyone else work on my stuff. I must say that Floorwood Solutions surpassed my expectations, and did a fabulous job, and even went out of their way to deal with a problem I had with the front door threshold. I am very happy with their work. There is no doubt that Rob's and Dareks combined years of flooring experience really shows and shines.
They were extremely helpful in providing me information and guidance with the pre-prep, (not even having been hired to do the job) and were prompt and professional with how they handled all communication.
To me, they are a model of how a business should be run. Hat's off to you Patricia, Rob, and Darek!
I would without many hesitation use them again, and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to have flooring done.

I had approx 399Sq ft of Vintage 3 1/4" Red Oak Bourbon Solid Sawn Estate installed including reducers. (To transition the difference in floor height to the kitchen)

This is our 4th floor we have had installed by Robert (and Derek). We have used Robert for over10 years now, and have never been disappointed. We would wait for them to do the job even if their availability may not be as soon as other installers. They started the job exactly on the date scheduled, and finished exactly on time. Their workmanship is pristine and precise. I know this because once I made the mistake of asking for another installation company to install our second floor hardwood, and the results were disappointing and nothing compared to that of Robert and Derek's.
