Reinsulated the exterior house walls

Put Wallbar insulation in the outside walls of an older home. Greg was very helpful answering my many questions during the research and installation phases. The house now stays cooler on the hot days and the insulation also works as a sound buffer to the outside noises.

Re-insulation of a house

After dealing with numerous trades, Greg and the insulation police were a pleasure to deal with. They were professional, courteous and worked hard to interfere in the home as little as possible. Greg is a diligent supervisor, communicative and knowledgeable. The workplace was always kept clean and when they left, I couldn't even tell they had been in the house! Far above average!

$19,000.00

Vault Insulation

In Feb. 23, 2004,Greg and his crew removed the old insulation and blew in High Density Wallbar thermal and Acoustical Insulation system into Back Entrance as well as the North and West walls in the vaulted section of the house.

May 10, 2005 we had Greg and his crew reinsulate the vaulted section from the top of the roof and the attic from the inside in the remainder of the house; we were seeing the beginning of ice damming and wanted it corrected before re-shingling. No more problems, excellent job.

Re insulating attic with blown in cellulose.

I just had my attic re insulated by Greg and his Crew. He was very helpful initially when advising me how to prep it myself to save on labour costs. When I had it ready, he and his crew showed up on time and ready to work. They finished the job in a timely fashion and to a high standard. Very happy with my now R-50 attic. I'd highly recommend Insulation Police.

Historic Residential Restorations

I used Greg's company a few times to remove old wood chips and insulation materials from attics and then spray foam insulation topped up with cellulose to bring things up to code. Works wonderfully to provide a moisture barrier in older homes that have none ( common in pre1970's homes ) while giving maximum "R" value per inch of depth. Bonus is it seems to dampen outside noise pollution into the homes as well.

Approximate cost of services:
$20,000.00

Hi Tony,
You are correct the older homes have LOTS of air leakage, spray foam combined with the cellulose stops ALL air leakage making your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer!
Thanks for the review,
Greg

ceiling insulation

We live in a one story bungalow. We did extensive renovations to our house including vaulting the ceiling and exposing all our walls ! We had Roxul in our vault and had ice damming the following year! Greg and his crew rectified our problem buy removing the roxul and installing wall bar and spraying poly urethane around all our potlights! Since then we have had zero problems and our heating costs have drastically changed !

Thanks Greg

Most do it yourself insulations are conductors and will have gaps and voids on installation, a perfect fit in the cavity is required to stop all air leakage, Polyurethane foam and cellulose blown in insulation have a perfect fit and will stop cold and warm air from touching which will in turn reduce your heating costs as you have indicated,
Thanks for review Mike!

New Garage

I built a 1450 sq. ft. garage in the fall and on a concrete slab with in floor heat from a wood fired boiler and used it uninsulated until I found Insulation Police.
Greg travelled an hour and a half for the quote then the following day the crew arrived just before a forecasted cold spell One man was blowing insulation in the attic while the others prepped the 10 foot walls. At the end of the day, job done and the temperature in the building kept rising to +25C from the concrete slab with outside temperature at -15C. There just didn't seem to be any heat loss with the building and I had to change my operating parameters for the boiler to slower pump rates and wood consumption dropped to about what you might use for a recreational wood stove in a house.

The building also became a sanctuary from Summer heat as it was nice and cool inside.

When I build the house, insulation Police will be back.

$8,200.00

John in your project which you are using wood to heat, we are actually using wood to insulate!
The Wall-bar insulation system is a wood based compound made up of recycled cardboard and newspaper treated with borate making it fire, insect, rodent and mildew resistant. We look forward to working with you on your new home project in the near future!
thank you for the review,
Greg
