Bat Proofing Home

A few years ago we had a bat in our home in the middle of the night. At the time, we needed a new roof, so we hired a roofing company, and told them about the bat. After they finished the roof, he said there is no way a bat can get in now...guaranteed. The next year, we had another, and again this year. They did a good job on the roof, but I don't think they understand the habits of bats, and what to look for, or how to prevent. While one bat a year doesn't sound like a big deal to some people, it is too me. I called Bats Canada and they provided me with an estimate, which at first I thought was a bit expensive. My husband and I talked it over, and after reading several articles on the internet about the habits of bats, and the potential damage they can cause, we decided to hire him. Kenny and his crew were great. When he arrived ( within a few days! no long wait time) he explained the process, and what he does, he answered all my questions, and went to work. I was sitting outside enjoying the hot summer day and was able to observe the thoroughness of his work. After he was finished he showed us exactly where our trouble spots were, and explained that the exit vents he put in would not allow bats back in once they exited. The 5 year warranty is a great piece of mind, something no other company I looked at offered. If you find yourself in need of a bat expert I would highly recommend Bats Canada. His knowledge and expertise was evident from the first conversation we had. If you think the price is steep, then I would ask "how much is it worth to you to protect your investment."
Thanks Kenny!

Bat Proofing and Removal

Kenny from Bats Canada was amazing. We had 30-40 bats in our attic wall and had watched them exit the house one by one. Needless to say we were on the phone the next morning looking for a solution. Kenny was wonderful to work with and made us feel so at ease. He identified all areas of possible bat entry and possible re- entry and we were bat free within 48 hours. He answered all our questions and inspected each and every area we asked him

Bat removal

Had bats for two years living in our 3 year old structure. I decided to take the least expensive route and work with a soffit and siding installer last year to get rid of the problem. I was very happy with the work done, and the bats were nowhere to be seen after my cheap fix. I was confident they were completely gone. I even bragged to my wife that I had added a fresh new skill set to our household.

However, since there was no proven experienced bat extraction knowledge between myself, my soffit technician, or apparently my seemingly pest-knowledgeable friend base, the bats simply scatted to several more entry and exit locations the very next year in the same structure. My cheap fix attempt only multiplied and complicated the whole issue the following year. What looked like a calculated and inexpensive fix simply migrated into a much worse problem.

If you have bats and are pondering the least expensive approach to ridding your place of these winged rats, don't do what I did. Don't waste one dollar or one minute on an approach without the full experience and knowledge that comes with Bats Canada. I would have ended up paying much more than my single bill from Bats Canada if I had continued trying to fix this issue myself. It is a bit painful to know that I wasted any money on my "cheap approach" and then had to pay what would initially have seemed like a costly solution through Bats Canada. But without a proper and permanent guaranteed fix you may be faced with replacing all of your insulation, be assaulted with a foul smelling mess and discover exciting new health hazards these flying creatures bring to your party. Plus, you still have the bats!

I did like the fact that the bats eat a huge quantity of mosquitos every night, but it isn't worth the risk of severe and costly property damage over time or the odd bit of bat waste that drops into your glass when relaxing and wine tasting on your patio in the evening with good friends. It is fun to watch the expressions on your guests faces as they start counting the flying rodents as they appear from your place like ship based fighter squadrons. The bats seem to take on the flavor of slightly unwelcome second cousins who are from the shallow end of the gene pool but now share your crib. Eyebrows go way up and its a wee bit embarrassing.

Ken from Bats Canada just left and I will weigh in shortly with my ultimate results. But once you call and meet him yourself, you will likely realize as I did that he has integrity, confidence in his work and you just know he will get the job done right. More to come!

Bat Exclusion and Home proofing

We had two bats flying throughout our house one night in February and called Kenny at Bats Canada the next day. Right away I could tell how knowledgeable he was about what we were dealing with and was very up font with us about how he could help in the spring ( as we could not do anything until then)

We reconnected in the Spring when Kenny came out to assess our house and plan a course of action. I worked from home the day Kenny was working on our house and saw for my own eyes the attention and detail Kenny invested into our home and solving this problem. He spent a around 6 hours on the exterior of house, ensuring that it was completely proofed. Kenny was so thorough about what he was doing, what we were dealing with and how we would rectify the problem. Naturally and as I expected, there is a chance that one could get in during the time frame that the evacuation is taking place ( when the one way doors are up) and I have such a fear of these little creatures that this concerned me. Kenny, however, walked through my entire home with me ( three full floors) and took the time to let me know IF one got lost, where it might get in. This gave me a tremendous amount of relief as we could then take precautions such as keeping doors closed into the unfinished laundry room. He went so far as to do a complete check of our 3 year olds room from top too bottom. Kenny honestly explained everything and I had a much better understanding of what to expect with the whole bat proofing process. He called the next day to check in and then came back a few weeks later to remove the one way doors. Thankfully we have not had any visitors, but I am 100% confident that if we do, Kenny will be back to figure out what to do. He takes pride in his work, is a true subject matter expert and has a high attention to detail. I would not hesitate to recommend his work to anyone.

Bat proofing

We've had a minor bat problem over the last 20 years with the occasional bat that seemed to gain entry. Finally decided to do something and called Kenny who came over and agreed to do the job of bat-proofing the house. The work was completed promptly and efficiently. Kenny even sealed an area where mice might likely gain entry. I have no problem recommending this firm.

Same day service and extremely efficient

We had a bat enter the basement and knew that where there is one, there are usually more. Kenny was able to accommodate us the same day that I called. With his 18+ years experience, he was the right person for the job. Upon exterior inspection he found multiple entry points and took extra care to seal and provide one-way doors for bats to exit.
We were more then pleased with the work Kenny provided and feel confident that our bat problem has been eliminated permanently.

Bat eviction

I have only good things to say about Kenny. Yes the cost is high, but we began calculating the cost of doing it ourselves, not yo mention the time at we feel it was worth every penny. Kenny was so thorough that I'm confident several issues would have been overlooked by ourselves, had we attempted to bat proof or another company. Furthermore, you have to know we have a very old and tall, huge house. Not every one is willing to work at such heights, but Kenny moved across it with ease.
My husband is a do it yourself kind of guy, and is an efficient tradesman spoke highly of his work.
We had over a dozen bats enter our living space last summer. Looking forward to skipping all that unpleasantness.

Bat Proofing

We have an old Victorian house and had a bat problem. Not only would the competition not take on our job, they referred us to Bats Canada. We can't say enough good things about Kenny - the work was high quality, he took care of our landscaping, and the bats are gone. He stopped by six months later to make sure we were still happy with the job, and I have no doubt that if we do have a problem in the future, his guarantee will be honoured with no questions asked.

Bat Proofing

In early February we found our first bat flying in the house. We had scratching and movement in the basement drop ceiling, and another bat found its way into the house in April. I found Bats Canada online and again through Homestars, and decided it was time to call for help. Bats Canada was the only one with a five year guarantee. I spoke to Kenny and agreed that he would schedule us in April to bat proof our house. Kenny showed up as planned and went straight to work. If you have a bat problem, call Kenny. I have read all the reviews and it's all true. He is reliable, hard working, professional, and true to his quote. We are very happy to have this house bat proofed and will probably be seeing Kenny in a few weeks when he returns to remove the bat exits. We will definitely recommend Bats Canada to our family and friends. Thanks Kenny.

Bat removal

After having bats for a few seasons and deciding it was time to get rid of them I did some research on the web and came across Kenny's site. After reading numerous reviews of how pleased people were with his work and finding how many people had hired another service(s) sometimes more than once only to hire Kenny in the end and be done with their bat problem, I decided to hire Kenny from the start. I believe you get what you pay for and I believe this to be true in this case as well. Kenny showed up and after a quick walk around my house got to work. The man has a great work ethic and is very knowledgeable about what he does as well as being personable. I was surprised to see how many tubes of caulking were actually used in the sealing of my house. Kenny left nothing untouched, a true professional. The very next night I went out to see if there were any bats flying around and sure enough there were six. I watched as they circled overhead and tried so many times to get back in to where it was they came from but they could not!! It was at that moment I knew that I made the right decision in hiring Kenny to take care of my bat problem. For anyone looking to have bats removed and not wanting to waste a lot of time call Kenny! You may pay a bit more but you will only pay once and in the long run you most likely will save yourself a few bucks and a couple of headaches. Thanks again Kenny! Job well done!
