Bedroom and diningroom

I just had the pleasure of meeting Peter and this young man is very knowledgeable, patient and compassionate. We have been working with him for several months and made several changes along the way. Peter never got stressed or upset and was always easy to deal with. He patiently explained all the pro's and con's of what we were looking at and at points talking us out of buying something we didn't need. He even admitted he wasn't a good salesguy but I beg to differ :).

Our bedroom and diningroom is now in our home and we are happier than can be. We will definitely be telling our family and friends about Peter and Sterling House.

Keep up the great work and look forward to having you over for a cup of tea.

Love seat, chair

Will advise further as the furniture was to be delivered today (Dec 21) and did not arrive with no phone call advising me even when I spoke with a Sterling rep this morning. Original order was placed Sep 27, 2016 - was advised roughly 7 weeks the material I ordered could not be placed on the love seat as it would leave a seam down the middle of the love seat, of course, I replied that is unacceptable. We had to go back to Sterling and pick out another love seat so we could have that material. I wonder why it took almost 7 weeks before that was figured out. Will provide a more detailed review once I actually am in possession of my furniture. Furniture finally arrived Dec 24 after numerous phone calls. This was a 3 month ordeal encompassing numerous phone calls, no deliveries on dates promised and at long last have received all our products. Quality of furniture if good but the rest well lets just forget about it all now.

Furniture purchased

I love this place. In 2011, initially got some decoration pieces for my living room. Purchased a bedroom furniture in 2014 and now in 2016 got a bed set again. Their customer service is amazing. Recently had the sale done with Jessica, she is a new hire and is amazing. she is polite and very cooperative. The only thing I don't like about this place is a long wait for the delivery. You are looking at 3 weeks easily

Bookcases

I've been a customer of Sterling House Interiors since 2009, when I bought the first of four custom-made bookcases from them. My primary contact at the store has been Cristina and her customer service is outstanding. It's always a pleasure to deal with her over the phone. I've been extremely pleased with the quality of the bookcases and the workmanship that went into them.

Delivery of my bookcases has gone smoothly. In a couple of instances where there a bookcase had a minor fault, Sterling House has promptly dispatched a person to perform repairs.

I've now ordered a television stand through Sterling House and plan to contact them whenever I need any new furniture for my home.

Best furniture store in MIssissauga

We've furnished our entire house with Sterling Interiors and my husband and I couldn't be happier with the result. Since 2013, after a horrible experience at a different furniture store, we discovered Sterling and have since worked closely with Peter and Christina who made the process fun and easy. They went above and beyond each time and even sourced out some pieces they don't carry and helped us with a custom built TV unit. They provide great suggestions and the service is undoubtedly the best we've received. Even their delivery is great, Romeo and his team deliver each piece with care.

I understand the frustration due to long delivery times for certain pieces. However, it's unfortunate to see the negative reviews due to this as it's important to note that the long delivery times and delays are through no fault of Sterling. Its the furniture manufacturers that provide it, at times inaccurately. As a result Sterling being the middle man gets the blame for passing on the info they receive. I've witnessed it myself in the store where they're given a certain lead time by the supplier only to have it changed at a later time. Our inquiries regarding order status were always addressed. Were they answered immediately or even on the same day each time - no. But that's because they're busy chasing down their suppliers and reps to try and get answers. Anyone who has experience in an industry where you're reliant on manufacturers/suppliers will understand that Peter and his team don't ignore the customer requests but actually work continuously in the background to get the info, sometimes it can take a few days.

In the long term, waiting a few extra weeks for furniture that will last for years to come isn't so bad, especially when you're getting it at the BEST price possible along with the BEST service from Sterling. Bottom line - they provide the best deal, quality and service. We are definitely their customers for life and their's is the only furniture store we'll ever purchase from.

kitchen,family room and living room furniture

I had been looking for decent bar chairs for my kitchen for some time.walked into sterling house and bought four of them.I was presented with a variety of styles and options to choose from which I could not find in other big stores.
Second good experience I had in buying my living room furniture.My buying experience was exceptional from start to finish.Christina and peter both of them were great to deal with.Best thing about this store is that Christina the interior decorator is always available on site to help you with your decorating needs. She exactly knows what style I am looking for.
sterling house carries excellent product lines with a variety of options. If you do not see it then ask as they carry many of their models in brochures.
I would definitely recommend Sterling house to all my family and friends. Quality furniture great price and service.
I wish them all the best .May their business flourish for many more years to come

Handstone Family Room Furniture Ordeal

I'm not sure who to blame. I ordered five pieces of furniture from one of the brands they represent (Handstone Furniture) in November 2015. At the time I was told 8-10 weeks for delivery. In week 11, I decided to follow-up with Sterling House - they claimed it just came in. Getting in touch with Sterling House was a feat unto itself. I would leave voice messages and they wouldn't call back, I'd have to follow up again and again. Trying to reach a real person was next to impossible. It was very difficult to arrange delivery of my furniture. Finally it arrived. One piece was wrong (it was 12 inches too short). The manager Peter indicated that he would put a rush on it and I should receive the new piece within 4 weeks. The next day, we noticed that one of the end tables was wobbly. According to Peter, it took a lot to convince the manufacturer that it was defective. Peter went out of his way to pick it up to return it (his associate who said they would be there between 6:00 and 6:30 called at 7:00 to let me know that she couldn't pick it up due to weather conditions - hmmmm, given she hadn't even left the store yet, I was a little skeptical about the reason). Peter again assured me that he would put a rush on it so that it would be returned when my new sofa table was delivered. Excuse upon excuse (Sterling House continually blamed Handstone Furniture) but finally my pieces arrived 18 weeks later. Coincidentally, I had to call Sterling House to follow up yet again and was told that the pieces had just arrived. Hmmmm, why do I think they just forgot to call yet again! To make matters even worse, the new end table is also warped!!! Handstone and Sterling had been paid in full on February 10th and I finally received all my furniture June 14th. Sterling wouldn't give me the manufacturer's contact information so I couldn't follow up directly - was Sterling hiding something? Frankly, this has been the worst experience I have ever encountered. I'm not sure who to blame, so I'll blame BOTH Sterling House and Handstone Furniture. Their customer service is incredibly POOR!!!

*** UPDATE ***
Cristina from Sterling called in response to a message I had left. As it turns out Handstone made a new top and adjusted the legs on my original end table. Funny, I was told the original table was lost and they were making me a new one. Who's not telling the truth?

Peter, as I explained on the phone I'm done with your broken promises and excuses. Frankly, you followed up with me 6 - 8 weeks after I told Cristina how upset I was and didn't want anything more to do with you guys. As far as I'm concerned your offer is simply a way to entice me to remove my poor review. This consumer will not fall for that ploy.

Peter, as I said during our call, you have my deepest sympathies. Unfortunately, this does not account for the lack of customer service from February 8th until the unfortunate accident you are referring to. If you are adamant about ordering me a new table, feel free and contact me when it is in. Again, you do have my deepest sympathies.

*** Update based on Company Response #3 ***
Now, as you can see, Peter (the manager) at Sterling House was adamant about ordering me a new table to, in his words, "giving us a chance to make it right". Based on his post, the new table was ordered the week of August 28th. Again, based on his own words the typical turnaround time is "please allow the standard 8 week turn around time with the Mennonites". The Mennonites he is referring to are Handstone Furniture. It is now January 24th, over 20 weeks later. I have not received one call, email or any other form of communication from Peter. To reiterate, this store has the worst level of customer service that I have ever seen.

Kim, do you really think I am naïve??? I was NOT upset with the long delivery times. They told me 10 weeks before I could expect my furniture when I ordered it over a year ago. I was quite comfortable with that. My complaint was from week 11 on!!! Especially since it was difficult to contact them or get any type of feedback. I would have been tickled to get a response from them the next day - the problem was I didn't get a response period - I had to follow up over and over again!!

You can't pin the blame for my fiasco on the suppliers/manufacturers. Sure, I'm quite confident they had some part to play but at this point, I'd say Sterling House has the lion's share of the part in this mess.

I ordered furniture for this renovation from 3 different retailers who each dealt with different suppliers. One was earlier than he promised and the other was on time. Solely blaming the suppliers/manufacturers is naïve! I've purchased a lot of furniture over the years as we renovate various areas in our home and this experience is by far the worst experience I have ever had.

EDIT: Rick, I'm sorry that I was unable to respond sooner as I explained I was dealing with 2 deaths and unfortunately a $400 table took a backseat to that. In my absence, Cristina offered you a new table, while you held onto the current one...but you choose to not go that route. If in the future you change your mind please feel free to contact me to discuss. Thank you for your response and compassion in this matter.

EDIT: We have ordered a replacement table and please allow the standard 8 week turn around time with the Mennonites. Thank you again for giving us a chance to make it right.

Issue Resolved

Had a major issue with a piece of furniture taking a very long time to arrive, but it has been resolved. I look forward to continued improvements in customer service at Sterling House.

Daughters bedroom set

I am very happy with the services my wife and I received from Peter and the Sterling Home Interiors team.
The bed set that we purchased for our daughter came in on time and it looks fantastic!!

The delivery team called me when they were 15 minutes out which was great since it allowed me to get everything ready for their arrival.
The delivery team was quick in setting up the furniture and made sure everything was cleaned up and left the same way they found it.

We will definitely be back when it comes time to buy more furniture for our house.

Excellent Customer Service!! Over and Above!

I have been a customer of Sterling House for years. On this occasion I was looking for a specific piece of furniture. Although Sterling House did not carry it, Cristina and Peter went out of their way to find the exact piece I was looking for! Not only were they able to find it but they were able to get it for me at a much more competitive price!!
