Kitchen Designers Plus No Longer In Business

Our experience with Kelly at Kitchen Designers Plus was outstanding! From the initial design concept right through to product selection and installation, the process was well planned, professional, complete and on time. We could not be more pleased with our dream kitchen! Definitely a 10/10!

KD Plus was the first place we looked at when starting our research for our kitchen renovation. Kelly made a great first impression and after visiting several other designers only made me feel more confident that going with Kelly at KDP was the right decision. Having a design background, I had very strong views on the overall feel for the kitchen I wanted as well as very particular about all the details. Her initial presentation clearly showed that she understood my vision and had listened and incorporated all my wishes in a design that best suited the space and our budget. Kelly’s enthusiasm and confidence made me trust Kelly with all aspects of the design plan. On a number of occasions, when I was uncertain with an aspect of the design or unable to make a decision, I was able to rely on Kelly to lead me in the right direction to help me make a decision that I would be happy with.
From the execution perspective, the team was professional, prompt and efficient. What impressed me most was the willingness of all the trades involved to return on numerous occasions to ensure that everything was done to our satisfaction. A special thanks to Joe for coordinating everything, it was seamless and I was kept well informed of what was going on. With a small child, I was very concerned about the time line, but all went as planned and our kitchen was done on time.
My only possible complaint would be with respect to our choice to use our own general contractor for certain aspects of the job. We were warned at KD Plus that this can result in logistical difficulties. A close family friend is a highly qualified general contractor and we had him review the contract with us. Overall, he thought the contract was very reasonable – but he saw a few areas where he thought we’d be able to have the work performed at a lower cost. Accordingly, we used his contacts for these services and our observation was that KDP wasn’t as forthcoming with information and perhaps as helpful as they could have been or would have been with their own team. If we were to do it again, we wouldn’t have minded paying a bit extra for a hassle-free construction period – using KDP for the entire project makes sense.
Every morning I walk into our kitchen and think about how much I love it. There isn’t one thing that I would change. Thanks Kelly and KD Plus for my dream kitchen!

Our 1962 kitchen had overstayed its welcome, being awkward and difficult for two people to work in without bumping into each other. Having heard many horror stories about home renovations, we came to Kitchen Designers Plus on the recommendation of a very satisfied client. When we first met Kelly Boettcher we knew only what we didn’t want, and that we had a very awkward corner over some stairs, which made the cupboards above it inaccessible unless you stood on the counter. Kelly listened, got to know us, and designed a kitchen which she thought would meet our needs. We are thrilled with the result, a beautiful, accessible new kitchen.

Before work began Joe worked out a schedule, emphasizing that unforeseen problems could delay the work. However, the work was done almost exactly on schedule. The one delay was of only two days, and was totally unavoidable. The trades people were very skilled, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. At all times communication with KDP was excellent. Throughout the project Kelly visited frequently, kept us informed, and Joe even called on her day off. Kelly replied immediately to all of our emails, and usually had already addressed what we thought was going to be an issue.

With every major project there are small problems which become apparent only after the work is officially completed and paid for. With other companies we found that they were in no hurry to return, and that repeated phone calls over months were necessary. Happily, Kitchen Designers Plus was again the exception. We did have a couple of minor problems, which were corrected exactly when promised. We are delighted with our new kitchen, and highly recommend Kitchen Designers Plus. It is no surprise to us that they have won so many awards for excellence.

We were very apprehensive when we decided to complete a large transformation to our our kitchen and family room (which included taking down support walls). We had heard so many stories of bad experiences, long delays and poor construction and were therefore very skeptical. In starting our review of potential firms we were less concerned with quality of product (as we know that there are many great kitchen products/lines on the market) than we were with finding a focused, enthusiastic designer, with strong organizational skills and a deep team to back him/her up.

To be honest, we almost discounted Kitchen Designers Plus, when (during our first phone call) Kelly Boettcher mentioned that she would not need to come to our home before coming up with the plan. Lucky for us, we continued and booked our first meeting. Kelly made such a strong impression during that first meeting. She exuded confidence and spoke with such enthusiasm for our renovation. We were not disappointed with her overall design, which was hands down better than the others we received from competitors - with a fantastic layout, extra cabinets for storage, nice flow and an overall beautiful presentation.

The project started slow as we winded our way through the process with the structural engineer (Dave, recommended by Kitchen Designers Plus, is a gem), and then the city license.

Once this was completed, Kelly moved very quickly into the construction side of the project. We can't say enough about the organization of the daily activities. Not one day was wasted in our 6 week project. Any issues that arose were resolved that same day by Kelly and the team. Every minor detail was considered by Joe and the team at Kitchen Designers Plus. With all of the different team members to organize (we counted over 15 experts) we can only imagine the logistical nightmare, but were so glad to have Kelly and Joe handle all. (If you have ever had to hire someone to replace your carpets OR to fix your toilet you will know exactly what I mean when I say that I can't imagine organizing the schedule for 15 people.)

Lastly, I can't say enough about Kelly's daily feedback on the progress, her suggestions for functional improvements, and her positive attitude. She never once said "it can't be done". Six weeks without a kitchen sink and stove is not easy, but with Kelly managing the project, we really felt that she understood the need to meet the schedule (which they did) yet provide us the best possible renovation for our money.

We love the results and it was well worth the wait! We would hire Kelly and the team at Kitchen Designers Plus again, in a heart beat.

When choosing Kitchen Designers Plus to design and install our kitchen, we found a real plus in designer Cindy Bako. Cindy's expertise and genuine care guided us in making choices which we are now thrilled with. She was always accessible and ready to offer reassurance throughout the renovation.

The installation of the cabinets was carried out perfectly with the true craftsmanship of Frank.

A major project well worth waiting for!

I can see why Kitchen Designers Plus have won the Consumer Choice Award for 11 years in a row. The entire company was outstanding to work with.
We were fortunate enough to have Pat as our kitchen designer and manager of our kitchen renovation. She is exceptional to work with, knowlegable and very focused on doing a great job. She took care of even the smallest detail. She prepared extensive drawings for the contractor and supervised all the work as it happened. She went to great lengths to get the correct measurements for the walls and all the appliances so the installation went smoothly. I called her many times with concerns and each time she was a step ahead and had everything under control. She was always accessible, always calm and always charming. I would recommend her highly.
Each part of the process went smoothly from delivery to installation. Each person that I had contact with from Pat in the front office to Joe in the plant was professional and courteous. Everything went according to schedule. There were no delays.

When we set out to find someone or some group to renovate our kitchen, we had a number of priorities in mind. We wanted superb design, quality on-time installation, and value on our investment, not to mention a high level of care and professionalism on the part of all those involved. Well let me say that Kitchen Designers Plus in Oakville delivered on all counts!

Especially impressive was Kelly who worked as our design consultant and liaison with Joe our work-team manager. It was Kelly’s obvious expert design flair and friendly professionalism that initially made a difference for us when choosing KD-Plus over the competition. Lots of outfits can produce a good kitchen, but having confidence in the team and a good working relationship are essential – especially when having to deal with glitches and issues that inevitably arise in any kitchen renovation. I must say that Kelly was always quick to respond to any concerns we had and she did so always trying to accommodate to our needs. Not once did we feel we were in some kind of unpleasant adversarial situation. We always felt Kelly was on our side. For this, we are extremely grateful. In the end our kitchen looks fabulous, even better than the computer mock-ups provided to us early in the design phase of the project.

I might add that because of Kelly’s connections to local retailers and product manufacturers, we were also able to get a couple of good deals reducing our costs. Kelly’s positive working relationship with one particular retailer no doubt played an important role in getting us a “hassle-free” response when requesting, beyond a policy stipulated return date, a new oven vent which came delivered with a dent. Expecting the worst, we received immediate satisfaction. I wonder whether we would have received the same prompt and courteous service if Kelly had not sent so many previous clients to the same vendor.

In short, Kitchen Designers Plus is an outstanding outfit. We couldn’t be happier with the final results of their efforts. Many thanks go to Kelly and all the work teams that turned our vision into a reality.

We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Kelly for the tremendous job she did transforming our old 70’s style kitchen to the beautiful showpiece it is today. When we first started the renovation process, we truthfully had no idea exactly what we wanted or how much it was going to cost. We had a few quotes from various companies but our kitchen had a challenging layout with limited wall space therefore we were not feeling confident moving forward with any of the designs presented to us.

We happened to be in the area of the Kitchen Designer’s Plus Oakville location one Saturday so we decided to pop in just to look through their showroom. We were cheerfully greeted by Kelly and we gave her a bit of insight into our kitchen renovation plans. Kelly volunteered some really terrific ideas for our space and we were immediately drawn to her knowledge, creativity and expertise. Kelly did an amazing job coming up with a design that worked within our space and our budget. At one point after the initial design selection, we made a decision to broaden the space and move a wall slightly. Kelly was very willing and quick to revise the design and even take it a step further by offering up some other innovative options with the extra space. Throughout the entire process Kelly was professional, accessible and a true expert in her field. She made us feel like our project was a priority and was always willing to take the time to review even the smallest details to optimize the end result and ensure we were satisfied. We would have no reservations whatsoever in recommending Kelly and Kitchen Designers Plus to others as we’ve already passed on her name to interested friends.

Pat at Kitchen Designers Plus was a pleasure to work with. She is very responsive and worked directly with our contractor. Although our kitchen was not big, there were many details and structural issues that had to be taken into account when designing our kitchen. She was very open to suggestions and was great about last minute changes. We are very happy with the results and would use Kitchen Designers Plus for any future projects!
