bedroom painting and blinds

The bedroom window of my rented apartment faces north-east, which means the first ray of sun in the morning pours in my room and gets brighter until well after 1:00 PM. on top of that, the walls and the curtains were plain white, intensifying the brightness of the bedroom and making it impossible to sleep after 5:30 AM! My one trip to Home Depot helped resolve all my problems. I found the perfect brushed aluminum blinds (as well as matching brushed light switch covers) and the exact color palette I had in mind. The whole thing cost me about $200 and my bedroom's plain look turned into a beautiful, sophisticated one.

Tiling Service on the ground floor

We hired Home Depot to put in tiling throughout the main floor, to give our home a Greek style look. The kitchen, dining room, entrance-way, powder room and living room were done - the entire main floor.

We first had an estimate done by Home Depot, which seemed fine. However, when the layout was completed, everything was askew - the flooring was not straight! We complained to the company. Home Depot had the head technician (installer) come out to take a look. He agreed the job was not well done, and subsequently re-did the entire project. They undid all their work and started from scratch again. This time it was properly done. This was done at no cost to us. It turns out the issue originated from the original house flooring not being straight. We were happy Home Depot solved the issue, at no additional cost.

Household odds-n-ends

I love that you can get everything you need for your home under 1 roof. Need lightbulbs? Check. Need foam board insulation? Check. Need an absure length screw to add new hardware to your cubbard doors? Check... and they'll even cut it down to the size if they don't have one that already fits properly... and they'll do so with a smile. Fabulous service!

Coffee shop renovations

I rented some equipment from Home Depot on Terminal to take off the wax on the floor. I soon learned that it was a big mistake to go there: the service was slow, I had trouble returning basic items, and equipment parts were forgotten to be included. I still go to Home Depot often, but I would definitely recommend that they put some work into their rentals department.

Buying mirrored closet doors

We purchased mirrored closet doors, originally we wanted bifold doors with bevelled edges. We were counselled to buy sliding closet doors as it is a small space, and also decided against bevelled mirror, because of the distortiion. Helped with exact measurements,as they were custom doors. We received them within 3 weeks, and they fit perfectly.

The staff at Home Depot are extrememly helpful and knowledgable. They are eager to help and explain things at my level of understanding. Sometimes items are difficult to find. Sometimes a sales representative is difficult to find at times.
