3rd floor gut out and reno, maintain 100 year old archtitecture while redesigning kitchen, bathrooms, 1st and 2nd floors plus basement. Electrical and plumbing gut out.

We intereviewed several design/builders and settled upon Fernando and his business partner Charles. They provided a number of terrific design ideas from an aesthetic and practical perspective. Once agreed upon, the plan proceeded as promised. Sub trades were of good quality and were managed closely. As is likely typical, my wife and I made a number of changes along the way. Fernando and his team were very amenable to these but always ensured that we understood the consequences of our change request from a price and timeline perspective. As such, there were no surprises at any time. We contracted for quality design services and construction workmanship managed and delivered by a fair and ethical business owner at a fair, market price and that is exactly what we received. I would not hesitate to recommend Cass-A-Bella based on our experience.

2nd storey additon, main floor renovation

We had a single storey bungalow that we brought Cass-a-bella in to add a second storey and renovate part of the main level. It involved every aspect of the trades, as well as some design to ensure it blended in to the architecture/era of the street. The team did an amazing job, with high quality products and great talent. The job was done on our budget and was completed before the projected end date.

Two storey addition and gut and lowering of basement

We had a 1,000 square foot granny suite built off the back of our home. It was a two storey addition, mud room, drop of the main houses basement and rough ins. The team started on time and finish on time and on budget. We did add a few things to the project but Charles and Fernando never took advantage of pricing on change orders - always fair. They worked really well with our Architect and they were on top of things all the time. We started the build in November 2004 (finished May 2005), Larry, Gino and Chris and the rest of the guys worked really hard to get it framed before it snowed. Great group, professional, they care about their clients and they take pride in their work. We had at the time an extremely difficult neighbour who did not like the renovation, Cass-A-Bella dealt with him and kept things rolling despite all his interference. I highly recommend them.

Kitchen/family room renovation

We gutted our kitchen and expanded it out to have an open concept area into our family room. As expected, the project started several months later than expected but once started, the team was polite and curteous and we were impressed with how they cleaned up at the end of each day.

Pros of the company was our contractor Larry who paid strict attention to detail and was lovely to work with. Problems with other companies during our project (kitchen, plumber, electrician) was dealt with by him. Furthermore, their payment schedule was nice having to pay at the end of each project phase which was outlined in our contract. That way, you only pay when projects are completed.

Cons would be the inevitable wait for several days to week at times while their trades people were on other projects. Communication during this time could have been better. As always, we found that we had to be quite attentive to each phase of the project and it was essential to call them regularly to keept abreast on the progression of the project.

Overall, we would highly recommend this company for home renovations but would strongly advise that every detail of the project be outlined in your contract and request daily/weekly updates from them in terms of the progression of your project. Because they take on several projects at once, delays and lag time are expected. Our project was done in a month and the results were wonderful. Their cost was also very comparable to other companies.

Second story addition - large scale

We worked with Cass A Bella during a major renovation involving changes to 80% of our house (roof off and all!). We found the whole team to be honest, hardworking and very fair through-out. From the initial contract set up with Charles, to what was built by Fernando and his crew - they really delivered to the letter of the contract. Thanks to all that built our home (Larry, Gino, Chris, Tommy). We are very happy with the results!

Renovated the upstairs and downstairs kitchen

After a terrible basement renovation project in 2006 (with another contractor) we were very cautious about selecting the contractor to remodel our upstairs master bedroom/closet and the kitchen/family room. After checking Cass-A-Bella's references and meeting with Charles, we decided to move forward with them. After some delays getting permits the project started in July. The workers were great. They were curtious, professional, showed up on time and the project moved along every day. There were only a few surprises and we worked through them with Larry and Fernando.
Nice job Cass-A-Bella!

Map out the space on the floor to try and really visualize how the space will finish up.

Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation

Provided a good price in a high priced market. The trades people seemed professional. A daily check on all work done is recommended, so that any errors can be rectified immediately. A good job overall.
