I've had Aetna out twice to inspect homes I wanted to buy. In both cases they were right down to business - on time, efficient, and informative. 3 different real estate agents recommended them as *THE* termite people and I can tell why. They have an exceptional database of buildings treated for termites in downtown Toronto and can tell you about treatment activity over time on buildings in and around yours.

On our most recent purchase, Richard came in and gave a clean bill of house health for termites but spotted carpenter ants on an exterior section of the house. He recommended a DIY option and a specific combination of products (knock down and pro b1) so I took care of the ants and haven't had an issue since.

Having used them twice for inspections - in South Riverdale and Trinity Bellwoods - and with them being so consistently recommended by others, I have and will continue to recommend them to friends and family.

I used Aetna to inspect my last house for termites as well as my current house. Both times Richard was sent out. He was on time, thorough and very pleasant :)

Very good customer service. I thought I might have a termite issue and was referred to Aetna. They worked with me to determine that I had common psocids / booklice. Excellent service and support.

As we live in a "termite zone" within Toronto, I decided to get a termite inspection in advance of the sale of our home. Richard from Aetna was in an out within an hour and seemed to do a thorough job. He was extremely knowledgeable about his business and if, heaven forbid, I ever have a termite infestation, Aetna will be my first call.

We found termite track in the basement after we opened up the drywalls during waterproofing the interior. Immediately we called Richard from Aetna to do an inspection. Richard was able to come right away and worked with the waterproofing guys to do termite treatment for the entire house. Richard was knowledgeable and professional.

Aetna is very honest. I got a free home inspection. Richard was friendly and very helpful in giving advice on how to remove potential breeding aread for termites. He suggested only what needed to be treated at this time as it was early days for my home. A full preventive treatment was suggested for next year with a different chemical. Greatly appreciated the honesty and not wasting my money. The guys who came to do the treatment were very friendly and very helpful and prompt. They removed the carpet and put it back nicely. One of the guys even offered to help move the stuff in the crawlspace next year when they come back. Don't usually see such high quality service anymore. It was nice to do service with Aetna over such a horrible problem.

We first called Aetna in June 2009 when we discovered termites in our basement. They came highly recommended from other people who had used them, and they have not disappointed.

We did the initial treatment, and always kept up our annual warranty. Unfortunately, our neighbourhood is termite central and they returned. They have retreated a few times and given us many suggestions on how to termite proof our house.

After they returned for like the 4th time we finally waterproofed our basement and Aetna returned for many appointments throughout the process without complaint, always scheduling around our contractors stages of work.

We have found the staff to be reliable, punctual and very friendly and have continued to recommend them to neighbours and friends.

The waterproofing was what we needed to really get rid of them, and fingers crossed we haven't had the pleasure of an Aetna appointment since our last annual inspection!

I can't think of a time I've ever bothered to write a positive review for a company but I had to this time. I've been so impressed with Aetna. The staff are wonderful - they are friendly, helpful and fair. I had forgotten to pay my annual warranty and so it lapsed. I then noticed termite activity and when I called them they informed me I no longer had a warranty. Of course, I panicked. However, they allowed me to pay in arrears so that the warranty could be activated and I could have the inspection and treatment covered. I couldn't believe it.

The guys that have come to do the inspection and warranty are also wonderful. In addition to being knowledgeable, they even brought in all of the flyers that were on my front porch.

I couldn't be happier and my neighbours who have also dealt with Aetna have said the same thing.

I went there for advice on how to get rid of carpenter ants in an old fence. The owner was very friendly and knew his stuff. He offered a simple, cost-effective solution (i.e., no need to fumigate which would have cost hundreds of dollars). He sold me traps, and within days the problem was noticeably improved, and with a few more applications the ants were non-existent. If you want the straight goods on anything pest-related, Aetna is THE place to consult.

Aetna definitely knows everything possible about termites and most other pests. They completed a full inspection of my home before I purchased it, and they gave me complete peace of mind as well as a few very good tips for knowing what to look for in terms of spotting early signs of termites. If I ever had to have my home treated, they will be the first people I call. Very professional and kind.
