Company is coming back to resolve issue.

The company is coming back to fix the issue. They explained their solution and they talked about how they will resolve this job. They said that silica sand traction will be sufficient for the winter. It was mentioned that traction with horizontal lines on the recemented surface is not adequate as it will wear away.

Approximate cost of services:
$12,000.00

EVEN IF YOU PAID ME, I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! $12,000, 5-YR NIGHTMARE!

EVEN IF YOU PAID ME, I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! $12,000 5-YR NIGHTMARE!
The whole project, from start to finish, has been an ongoing nightmare. One year after another, constant fixing, it’s still not fixed after the 4th time, and we are stuck with dangerous steps and platform right before the winter.
The first year the concrete platform plus steps were completed, it was disintegrating; it was falling apart. The concrete was peeling, chipping away, and crumbling. This happened throughout the whole platform. It was all uneven and it looked terrible.
A&A offered to replace it. I agreed to have this situation rectified. The second job was worse than the first, the steps are uneven, it is not properly aligned as they refused to remove the previous concrete foundation underneath, completely. They removed the top part, but assured me that they would not have to remove the bottom foundation. They argued with us and would not remove the whole previous project. They put the new concrete on top of the old concrete. As a result, the steps are uneven and it is not aligned properly.
The second time, they came to repair the crumbling of the second new project. They put cement caulking and patched it to cover the side of the foundation because they refused to remove the whole foundation. It looked okay for a year. After that, it was chipping everywhere.
The third time, he put the concrete caulking and patched it again. It was okay for a year.
The fourth time, the steps are cracked and the concrete is peeling. They sent someone to fix it, they just used the cement to patch the areas and it was very visible. It was not bonded properly, there were still crack lines.
The fifth time, they put cement mix on top of the pre-existing peeling concrete with no traction on it. There are no horizontal lines even though they were on the 2 previous failed projects. By the way, we declined to have the project completely redone for the 3rd time! When we told him that we wanted these lines again, he said that we approved of the colour without horizontal lines but we simply approved of the colour and stated that we wanted the same project as the previous two that were done with horizontal lines. Remember, we just wanted the peeling and cracks fixed and we wanted the project to be the exact same, especially since the winter is coming.
I phoned the manager and I emailed him and he did not respond. I told them not to come back because they just want to seal it with no traction. They offered polymeric sand, according to the websites, it is a slippery surface but this is not even equivalent to traction as on the 2 previous failed projects.
We cannot compare A (traction) to B (polymeric sand) as it is not an equivalent comparison for the initial project that we paid for on the contract.
I told them not to come back again! End of nightmare.
