Electric Heating

Update: The issue resurfaced and contacting Tyler was a bit of an issue. I often e-mail people as I work 9-5 but "phone is his preferred method of contact as he receives a lot of e-mails and is very busy" - his words. Again, very knowledgeable guy but not the kind of customer service I expect in this day and age.

Tyler is very personable and definitely knows his trade.
My issue was with the pricing: he did a testing on my electrical panel to look for issues on my heating system and nothing faulty was found - he did solve the problem by flicking the switches off and on, changed a light switch and an outlet. The cost.. $360.
Everything is working properly, don't get me wrong, but I later found a company that would do a similar test for free and charge me their hourly fee ($100) for changing of outlet/light switch.
I am grateful for Tyler taking the time to explain everything he was doing and give me tips and advice in other electrical areas in my apartment but I can't help the ill feeling at the end of the day, unfortunately.

Approximate cost of services:
$360.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?

Company Response

Thank you for your feed back and for taking the time to write the review. Trouble shooting electrical problems Is one of the most common services that we provide for our valued customers. In your case we investigated and solved four electrical issues as well as an inspection of your electrical panel (and found safety issues). The issues we solved for you are; baseboard heat in the bedroom, baseboard heat in the bathroom, 1/2 Receptical in living room was not working, and flickering lights in living room. We also supplied, installed, and will warranty a switch we supplied for your home. I also took the time to discuss the repairs that would be needed to fix the panel, and your heating concerns for the area you keep your dog. I even gave you some common sense solutions you could use that may not need any electrical work. When it comes to troubleshooting it is not the time it takes that is of value to the customer, but the experience of the electrician to solve the problems as efficiently as possible and to show care and concern for you your family and your home. I feel that you would not be as happy with the other company you called as you were with us. You may want to concider if they are members of the BBB, and or Home Stars contractor of the year and provide up front honest prices as we do. When comparing contractors it is important to compare apples to apples. I appreciate your business and enjoyed helping with your electrical needs. I hope apron thinking about the quality service I provided, you would consider using us again in the future.
