Kevin came to my house and installed a new pipe for a refrigerator. He arrived early and did good work. He also explained to me some things I'd need to do if I wanted to move the fridge later.
Tried to overcharge for time. Owned phoned me and called me an A*hole
I have no issues with the work carried out - it was completed acceptably, but the company tried to overcharge me on time, by an additional 15 minutes ($41.25).
Plumber arrived at 11:53, I know the exact time because I happened to be arranging for somebody at my house to come and collect some music tickets, and he messaged me "I'm here", with a timestamp of 11:53. I went outside to meet the guy and noticed that the plumber's van was there on the street. I got the impression he had just pulled up but I'm not totally sure. I asked the ticket guy to move his car out of my drive so that the plumber could pull in.
He left at 13:08. 1 hour and 15 minutes. I got the bill an hour later and it said 1.5 hours plus 15 minutes additional. I sent an email back to say that I had to dispute it, and received a phone call.
The lady on the phone told me that they have GPS, and they can see that the van arrived at my house at 11:30. It is entirely possible that the van pulled up onto my street at 11:30 - maybe the driver decided to have a smoke or spend 20 minutes looking at his phone or something, I don't know, but he was not on my driveway or in my house until after 11:53.
Ultimately they removed the additional charge but the lady on the phone was quite abrasive and clearly didn't believe me and made out I was being difficult and stressing her out. Frankly it's just left a sour taste in my mouth. I will not be using them again.
Edit: An hour after leaving this review, the owner called me to pressure me to remove it, and finished the call by calling me an A*hole.
