We give Integrity Roofers our highest recommendation. In summary, Integrity Roofers removed and disposed of our existing shingles and defective attic insulation, and then properly re-insulated and properly vented our attic space, rebuilt our roof deck, shingled our roof, and replaced soffits, fascia, and eavestroughs. This work was done in a professional and timely manner, and the result is beautiful. We received a 50 year non-prorated warranty, so we are expecting to never have roof issues again. But the most outstanding part of this entire experience was the attention, guidance, and patience we received from Shay Barat, the company owner. Our roof presented several challenges. We had ice dams that caused leaks in the winter. We had uneven and premature shingle wear. We had eavestroughs that would not stay attached. The original roof on our modest bungalow joined an independent cathedral roof over an addition via a poorly built connecting section. Most recently, we'd started experiencing leaks indoors during some rainstorms. We had what we hoped would be a sufficient budget for this work, but since we are recently retired, we needed to be sure we could stay within this budget. It was very important to us that we achieve a long-term solution to these problems. We needed to be confident that we would not need to spend more money on the roof in the foreseeable future, since the last roofing job had lasted only 15 years. We began by contacting several roofing companies. At our initial meeting, Shay, of Integrity Roofers, explained the importance of properly insulated and ventilated attics to the longevity of asphalt shingles. He listened to the problems we'd been having, made some initial recommendations for dealing with them, and left us with some reading material to educate us on how a roofing system is supposed to work, and with the promise of an estimate within a week. Because of their longevity, we were initially interested in metal or synthetic slate roofing materials, rather than more traditional asphalt. When we first spoke to Shay, we explained this to him. Shay was receptive and interested, even though Integrity Roofers normally works exclusively with asphalt products. Shay pointed out, however, that whatever roofing material we chose, we needed a considerable amount of preparatory work before we did anything else. Our insulation was wholly inadequate, for instance, and we lacked a proper vapour barrier. The sheathing (woodwork) over the addition needed to be replaced, and the entire roof was improperly ventilated. Shay explained how Integrity Roofers would solve these problems, and how they would complete the job, so that we could compare this with the other options we were looking into. Shay was very patient with us, and even spent time talking, with us, to one of the vendors for the non-asphalt options that we were considering. In the end, he showed us that he could give us the guaranteed longevity that we wanted within the budget we had, using a more traditional product. We spent two months exploring various alternative options, and by the time we finally signed a contract with Integrity it was well into fall. Nevertheless, the work was all completed despite bouts of bad fall weather. The Integrity crews worked hard, well into the dark two of the days, and left everything tight when the inevitable fall weather required a pause in the work. One of the major considerations for us was that Integrity Roofers managed the entire job, from the initial cleanup and re-insulation to the final eavestroughs and finishing. The other roofing companies we talked to gave us quotes for parts of the work, but we would have been responsible for scheduling still other companies to do the rest. Shay took personal charge of all aspects of the job, and his high standards are evident through all the work. The result is absolutely wonderful. Everything his people did is immaculate, the roof looks more perfect than we could have imagined. Even places that were uneven between the old house and the addition look straight and new. The grounds were left cleaner than they were before work started. Our manufacturer's warranty certificate arrived on the final day of trim work. In short, we can't think of any way this job could have ended up being done better, and we recommend Integrity Roofers to anyone who wants a similar job done properly.
