4/10

First, I don't enjoy sharing disappointing reviews like this, but really felt the need to because my experience with this company was frustrating. - This company installed a 68 ft fence as part of a larger project in my neighbor's yard, so I went along with it. But from the start, I was treated rudely. When I asked for a complete job quote (with a breakdown of costs), I got a rude text and email from the owner (I wont' get into details, but it was unprofessional and disrespectful). Considering how crazy lumber prices are right now (almost double), I wanted to understand exactly what I was paying for, so I didn't deserve that treatment. - I also asked several times about options/advice (anything!) on how to resolve serious drainage issues along my fence, which would've been nice to address while the fence was being built, but I heard nothing from them, and when I finally did get a response during the middle of construction, the price to do it was astronomical and without breakdown (compared to other quotes I received). - After the fence was officially done, the area along it was a complete mess (mud everywhere, grass gone, ground was very uneven with pits, a large cement boulder was left on the ground). I had no idea the fence was done at that point (because no one was communicating with me at all), so I had to call the workers back and remind them several times to please level the ground and plant some grass seed or something, which they finally did. - In the end, they built the fence. Julian the foreman was nice and good to work with when I asked directly. For that, they get a 4/10. But frankly, I don't understand how a company can have such strong reviews when they treat people like this. If transparency and communication are important to you, then don't hire them. If not, go right ahead.

this is a fraud review. we have never done any work for anybody named George. this is from one of our competitor's and I brought this to Homestars attention and im shocked they even put this review up.
as you can see we have a steady rating of 10s so for us to get a 4star rating is un heard of. this fake review should be taken down immediately and to who ever put this review up you should be ashamed of yourself ...

10/10

I'm going to keep the 10/10 party going for AEPHLI and their job transforming our unfinished walkout basement into a great legal apartment, which we're currently renting out to a happy tenant! All the 10s may seem weird and I was skeptical too but these guys deserve it. There are a lot of bad contractors out there, and many satisfactory ones who do the bare minimum, so relatively speaking Chris and Brad are exceptional! I'll get some of the minor hiccups out of the way: The project was completed later than promised and it did go slightly over budget. But when you're building and designing a completely unfinished basement apartment that's to-code, it can take longer than expected with the city and involve unexpected costs, so it's forgivable considering how great the apartment turned out. Major points scored for: Communication - For me and my wife, communication was very important going in. And Chris was constantly in touch and filled us in on everything. He was also accessible and responded to questions/concerns right away by text. There was also no confusion on progress or timelines. Focus - Chris and his brother only focus on one project at a time, which was an important factor for us, because they're devoted to your needs and not distracted by other priorities. Thorough - Chris was great at explaining everything. Very detailed and did not cut any corners. Took the time needed to get the job done. Finished product - It was exactly what we wanted. It was completed as promised. Clean, modern-looking apartment. Many compliments from everyone that came through. Cost - We interviewed many contractors. AELPHI's quote was fair and on the lower end of the spectrum. Great value, in my opinion. So would I recommend them... absolutely, yes. If you're not sure, do your homework and interview as many contractors as it takes until you're comfortable.

I am ecstatic that you are pleased with our work. Brad and I try our best to do what needs to be done, for what it needs to be done for without sacrificing our quality. I'm happy that you found a great tenant!
