Our plumbing company had to dig a 25-foot trench through the middle of our tenant's very neat and clean basement apartment in downtown Toronto. The plumbing replaced the faulty drain pipe under the house with a new one. The plumbing crew did a pretty good clean-up of the mountains of muck and rocks and dirt the surrounded the trench on both sides. But the apartment needed a first-class clean-up by a professional crew. I wanted to provide this out of respect for me tenant. Detailed Maids two-person cleaning operation did the job. They were even very good about changing our original time when the plumbing did not finish as fast as they had predicted. Detailed Maids is first-rate: personal, professional, efficient, accommodating. I recommend them highly

Enercare sent a technician to maintain a central a/c unit in a tenant apartment. The agent promised a charge of $99 for diagnosis. If there was a problem to be repaired, there would be a further charge, which I agreed to. Enercare's technician went to the tenant's house and found no problem with the a/c aside from the fact that it is a unit nearing the end of its service life. The technician did no repair work on the unit. The technician did change the filter, a filter that I provided. That took 15 seconds. Enercare counted that filter change as a repair and charged me a total for the "repair" and "diagnosis." No real work was done on the unit. When I confronted Enercare over this outrageous bill, the "customer care" person insisted that the filter change constituted a "repair" and was subject to the minimum labour charge of $99 per half hour of the technician's time. I would be happy to be for real service. This was bogus. Beware of this company's evasive and tricky language. I will not deal with this company again.

When the plumber I have used for 12 years refused emergency service on a Sunday, I was desperate and I called several companies. I lucked out when I called Mr. Rooter. Plumber Robert Plantic turned up at the house three hours later and replumbed the pipes and the mixing valve going into the hot water heater, and I was able to turn the water back on for my tenants---a few hours after we discovered the leak. I was so impressed I bought into Mr. Rooter's Advantage Plan. Robert Plantic was kind and understanding. He explained the problem clearly and gave me the price for the job before he started. I feel very grateful to him. He charged nothing extra for Sunday service. I recommend him highly. I manage three properties in downtown Toronto. This will be the plumber I call for future jobs. Plantic earned my business.
