When we look for experts to handle a job in our home we look for key characteristics in a service provider. First is quality, of service and of the work being done. Second is reliability in delivering as required and doing so as promised. And third is personality, including professionalism and willingness to work together to achieve a goal within a budget. Neil and his support staff scored a ten out of ten in each characteristic. We recently hired Neil to finish our basement from top to bottom. Once he gave us a quote and a timeline he went to work delivering as promised in a highly professional and reliable manner. His support staff was fantastic to work with and just plain nice people. We were kept apprised of each stage in the process and dates were met without delays. Even with several changes to the plan and adjustments along the way, Gilhome delivered without hesitation, often going beyond our expectations. We can hardly say enough about how impressed we have been and we will have absolutely no hesitation using Gilhome again in the future.

About 5 or 6 years ago we used Potlight Expert to add potlights to our home in Oakville and we gave them a rave review. I am doing the same today. I still dont understand why anyone would use another company. Hossein and his team are truly professional, efficient and great value. Jeff arrived at our home on time to clean all the upstairs bedrooms, hallway and stairs. He did a great job! The carpet was dry in 2-3 hours. This is the second time we have used Oliva Carpet & Rug Cleaning and would recommend them. Thanks Oliva!

Erick came recommended by our real estate agent and he lived up to his billing. He was thorough, efficient and arrived for each project as scheduled. The ceiling looks fantastic and Erick returned to do touch ups. The bedroom was a very big job but Erick was up to the task. We are in our seventies and often in need of help addressing some basic home issues and Erick will be our first call from now on.

From the very first phone call through the service call everything was handled knowledgeably and professionally. Ravi was our service expert and he was both knowledgeable and friendly. What impressed us most was how much they queried and listened to our issue prior to the appointment so that when Ravi arrived he was prepared to address the problem with the correct parts. As a result the dishwasher was repaired efficiently and effectively.

In addition to being a true professional, Mahammat is a terrific person with a wonderful sense of humour. His work involved three visits. One to identify the problem and prepare a quote, a second to complete the work and a third to remove the one way exits he installed and block another entrance I found under my deck. In each case, Mahammat was efficient, professional and exacting in his work. He identified a significant part of the problem that he was unable to address and patiently waited until I was able to complete those improvements before coming in to complete his work. On his final visit this morning I noticed that he not only removed all the exits but he also double checked his earlier work to ensure that it was still effective. All in all I highly recommend K5 based on our experience with Mahammat.

We used Oliva Carpet Cleaning for the first time yesterday and the company is first rate in every respect. From Henry who did our carpets to the customer service staff everyone was pleasant, thorough and professional. When Henry arrived he went right to work and didn't take a break for 3 hours. More importantly his work was exceptional. We had an appointment that limited the time available to three hours and Henry ensured that we made it on time without sacrificing quality. This company is highly recommended.

Mallion is one of those companies that you would like to find in every walk of life. It's small, family run and very friendly but most importantly very professional. Everything from providing informed advice on aspects of gutters that most of us never think about, to cleaning up after the job is complete, was done with pride and quality. Petar the owner rolls up his sleeves and ensures that the most complex aspects of the job are completed to his satisfaction. We highly recommend this firm and our neighbour is already expressing interest in getting a quote.

We have used Just Decks for two major projects in our backyard over the past 20 years. Many years ago they built a very large, multi-level, cedar deck for us and two years ago they built a somewhat smaller composite deck. Needless to say we were very pleased with all aspects of their work. More recently we had a problem with one of the post lights in our railing. It was over two years since the deck was installed but not only was the manufacturer of the light willing to provide a replacement free of charge but also Paul at Just Decks was quick to offer someone to come out and do the replacement. Brad, the co-owner with Paul, showed up a couple of weeks following my request and put in the new fixture. No hassles and no complaints, just great service.

From the very first meeting with Pamela through the installation and follow up with Andrew and Brad our experience with Outdoor Lighting Perspectives was only positive. Not only did they complete the job quickly and efficiently but they also went an extra mile to try to help us out with a faulty deck light that they did not install. Great people and great service.

Two years ago we selected Pro Concrete from Hamilton to do the concrete patio in our backyard. At the time we gave them a ten star review on HomeStars. When it came time to have our front walkways, steps and driveway done we didn't even get a second quote from anyone else. The hallmark of this company is its commitment to the customer. While they are not perfect, when things do go wrong they do their very best to address the issue. The front of our house looks amazing and any concerns we had, all of which were minor, were addressed effectively. The two owners visit the sites and are part of the team including getting their hands dirty. We highly recommend this company for your concrete work.

We don't know why anyone would use someone other than Hossein and his team to install their potlights. If every company was as professional, friendly and efficient as Potlight Expert, the world would be a better place. Fast, clean and competitive but also when we had a minor problem with the dimmer switches they came to make the adjustment without hesitation. These guys are good period.

Following an energy audit we recognized that we needed more insulation and additional baffles in our attic to improve our heating and air conditioning efficiency. I ran into Wojtek at my neighbours house and following a quick chat and a quote and some reference checking we proceeded with them. Based on the professionalism of all involved and the thoroughness of Tom and Carlos who did the job I would highly recommend this service. They not only did what we had contracted them to do but they also identified and repaired some gaps in the roof that could have led to leakage.

I ordered a fairly large gazebo from Costco and given the size and complexity of the structure I also selected their Installation services package. They use We Install It to execute the installations. Phil and Mark from We Install It showed up early on the scheduled day and work diligently to assemble a very large and complex Gazebo in a professional and pleasant manner. They also made several useful suggestions regarding location and other details which we gladly accepted. When one part was missing and another was damaged they took photo's and notes to pass along to Costco and offered a suggestion as to how best we should handle it. I highly recommend this company on the basis of the work done by Mark and Phil.

We have been leasing a furnace and air conditioner from Reliance for 10 years. The technician who came in to do a regular service call mentioned that we might want to look into getting a new unit. It seems the costs have decreased and with ours getting older it would be preferable to move into a new unit. Moreover he mentioned several rebate options that might be available. To make a long story short within four days we had a new unit installed, we are paying less money per month for the same quality of unit and we are expecting rebates worth $3000 between those offered by the company and the government. On top of that the process from the discussion with technician through the meeting with the representative and the professional work done by the installers was all efficient and first rate. I highly recommend their services.

I can't say enough about the value, professionalism and quality of the work done by the Pro Concrete staff. With one minor exception at the end of the project, they hit every timeline. Moreover they did an exceptional job of cleaning up afterwords. My neighbour even commented on how they would knock on his door when they were parking in front of our houses, to ensure that he would not be inconvenienced. As it turns out he is also needing his driveway done and based on my experience I am sure Pro Concrete will be his company of choice. Their prices are also more than competitive.

In a day when customer service is largely left to automated attendants and quota driven technicians it was most uplifting to see the high quality of service from Reliance Home Comfort. From the customer service attendant that took my call to Matt the technician who completed the service requirement the entire process was first class. The problem with my furnace that arose at 10:15 this morning was addressed by 2:30 this afternoon including the need to retrieve parts across the city. I can only wish that all business would take customer care as seriously as Reliance. Thanks to Matt and whomever answered the phone when I called. Marty Keast
