Our basement tenant had their purse taken on the subway with house keys inside and ID (showing our address). This morning we contacted Locksmith Care and Dimitri was at our house within two hours and rekeyed the lock and provided extra keys as requested. He is a nice man, highly professional and provided some additional advice about security which was welcome and free. We have no hesitation to recommend this service. Great job!

I hired Warrens team twice. The first time was several years ago to remove asbestos around pipes for our boiler furnace. Our furnace was old and conked out in November. The installers wouldnt do the job because they suspected asbestos. Warren came in immediately and tested. It was present and they built a room inside the room, removed it all and vented the air for several days so that the installers could replace the old furnace. Warren did all this and his price was much more reasonable than the alternatives. His technicians were safe, friendly and efficient. The second project happened this year. We were getting new rug installed in the basement apt and the tiles underneath were very old. The carpet people said the tiles probably had asbestos and so Warrens tester (Dale) came in and took a sample. Asbestos was present so Warrens technicians came in and safely removed it all. Good price, done quickly and efficiently. Warren is the only expert Ill call in the future for any remedial work. I highly recommend them.

Woke up to frozen pipes, both hot and cold. Took the usual action to thaw them but it didn't work. Called Mike the Plumber and didn't expect them to come soon since the news was full of people with frozen pipes. They said they would come between one and three and a half hours. The fellow on the phone quoted me the base price without tax of $260. Anthony and Terrance, two super polite guys, arrived in one and a half hours. They laid down a tarp on our rugs and hooked up the pipe heater machine they brought (puts a current on the pipe to heat it up). But because the pipes were on two floors they couldn't get the section they wanted very well. So, they headed out and got more cabling and were back in 30 minutes. It took about 15 minutes and the water was all running again. There was an extra charge due to longer cabling and additional time. The guys were apologetic about this but it was expected and understandable. I would recommend these guys... ask for Anthony and/or Terrance.

Called David a couple of months back with a leaking washer and he responded in minutes. He came with another fellow and the part they thought needed replacement. The repair was supposed to cost $350+tax (since the part was expensive). When they got here they thought it was simply a busted hose but it turned out to be the pump was cracked (from a piece of metal that got stuff in it, wire from a bra of all things). The part was going to be about the same but they had a generic replacement in the truck that was cheaper (and by all accounts just as good). They installed it and everything has been working fine since. The part is guaranteed for 90 days and all is good. The service was fast, the guys were courteous and friendly, the work was done and the cost was reasonable. That's 10 out of 10 in my books.

We hired Sobol to replace all the windows in our old house. We went with fiberglass in the main room and all bedrooms and vinyl in the basement and extremities. Archiel and his wonderful crew showed up on time, covered our floors with cloths, they were friendly, and they reviewed the process before starting. We had an issue with the colour and Archiel worked hard to solve the problem. At the end of each day, the crew removed the cloths and swept the floors. In the end, our new windows look great, there were no surprises on the costs (right on budget). In fact, I suspect they did a little extra on two windows and replaced some rotten wood at no extra cost. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sobol to anyone who needs windows installed.

Called and got Michael to fix a badly clogged and leaky drain. The estimate was more than I wanted to spend to fix everything and he provided me with several options. He showed up on time, was courteous and worked to find an appropriate and affordable solution. What more could anyone ask for?

Went there for customer service. Salesman was nice and we purchased a few appliances that day. The delivery happened in a timely fashion but the work was not great. Dishwasher broke and they wouldn't replace it, even though they said they had one in stock. The customer service manager was very rude and unhelpful. She said new appliances would be for new customers only. They said they would order a part and it took weeks and then didn't work. After hassling Caplans for awhile they finally sent a repairman out and he said the appliance had clearly been dropped before it was installed and should never have been installed. After a few more weeks, they finally installed a new dishwasher. Caplans is supposed to be known for their customer service but we've heard that this has become typical of them these days and they aren't any better than most other suppliers and are worse than most of the best. We would recommend not using them.
