We called Peter last month for a broken fridge. I was glad to see he also does dishwashers--our dishwasher stopped working on Christmas eve. It didn't clean at all on the top rack, and the bottom wasn't so great either. The door springs were also broken, causing the door to crash down whenever you opened it. Anyway, even over the phone Peter knew what was wrong and fixed both problems in under an hour. He is knowledgeable, personable and very tidy with his repair, leaving not even a drop of water on the floor when he was done.

So, on the hottest day of the year so far, it was a bad time to find out our A/C wasn't working. Tomorrow being a holiday, we figured we would be lucky to find someone to fix it by Wed. or Thurs. at the earliest. I was so relieved that Max could come the very same day (and at 2 p.m., the exact time he said). He quickly found the problem inside the furnace, so nothing we could have figured out on our own. Cooling off now and would definitely call Max again in the future. Yes Max, I bought three new furnace filters as soon as you left. I promise to replace them more often.

When my ancient dryer broke I made a number of calls. Appliance Guy was the first one who called back, so he got my business. He arrived quickly and diagnosed the problem within about 30 seconds (broken belt) and had the part to fix it on hand. He said it's good to go for another 30 years.

Our FIT project stopped producing power during June, our most profitable month. We discovered to our dismay that the company who originally installed it only two years ago (Sun Volts Unlimited) had gone out of business. Charles tested the inverter and the meters and soon isolated the problem at the panels' fuse box on the roof. He replaced a burnt out fuse, as well as climbing around on the roof tidying up the wiring which had been installed in a slipshod fashion by Sun Volts. He then showed me what to do if it ever happens again (i.e. how not to get electrocuted doing it) and left me with a spare fuse. I'm so relieved the system is back online. Charles really knew what he was doing and was able to come quickly (a big deal since we can't afford to waste a minute of summer sunshine). Yes, in the end it was "only" a fuse, but there's no way we could have figured it out ourselves. Will definitely call him again if anything else goes wrong.
