I engaged another lawn mower service before visiting my daughter in BC. I came back to long, unmanageable grass. Shaquille came over and give me a reasonable estimate and mowed right away! He was kind and efficient and took away all that stress away. I highly recommend him

I signed a contract with FAVORITE LANDSCAPES in October 2022 for a 2 car residential driveway for the winter season. I paid my invoices well ahead of time including half the full payment up front and the rest in monthly installments at the start of the month.

His responsiveness on HomeStars is great and he's the only one who responded. His price point was high, but he doesn't use a snow plow and it included the sidewalk and porch. The quality of the work was decent (especially the salting), but the end of the driveway wasn't done well and didn't always leave a proper 2-width car room to get out.

I was okay with this until he didn't show up on a big snowfall. I woke up at 8am to take my kids to school and my property wasn't shoveled. It had been snowing from the previous day's afternoon, so there was plenty of time to stop by. I had also mentioned how important it was for me to have the driveway be cleared by 8am as that is when I leave to drop my kids off at school. We had to make do ourselves, plow our own sidewalk and drive over the snow in the driveway which ended up freezing overnight. I reached out to him to get him to eventually come the day after, but the snow was so frozen, our driveway was a mess for awhile afterwards.

Note that not only did he not show up, but he didn't even let me know that he wasn't coming to give me notice to do it myself before getting the kids to school. He also didn't reach out afterwards to make it right and made me reach out to him and get him to come.

3 weeks later, we had the biggest snowfall of the season. He didn't show up again. I checked my inbox to find a missed message from him asking for an additional $500 claiming salt prices had gone up. Our contractual agreement included salt for the season which was all prepaid. He said if I didn't pay the additional salt charges, he would not only stop salting, but also stop all snow removal service that I had pre-paid for in advance. I was sick and off work and didn't respond within the few days that he had sent the message. As promised, he didn't come by to clear anymore snow.

After having to shovel my property myself, I reached out asking about the price increase and why he stopped removing the snow as opposed to just not salting. He got very defensive and said I signed a contract and I had to pay him. The contract included salt services that I had paid for and there was no mention either in writing or by him about raising prices mid-season. I had paid for about 75% of the season and he stopped snow removal services about 50% of the way through. When I asked him for a refund of the difference, he refused.

All in all, I do not recommend Favorite Landscapes.

I chose Favorite Landscapes as Shaquille was the first to reply to my request. He came to look at our property and gave us a price quote and told us what he would cover with his services.He has come to do our leaf removal and snow clearing twice already.His work is above and beyond !

I have to conmend this company, as they came through after 5 days of searching for someone to clear our driveway & back area. They also went above and beyond the call of duty helping out a neighbour of mine who had past medical issues. They truly have compassion for others. They did a great job clearing the snow in a minimal amount of time.

Our own small lawn mower broke mid-autumn; we have never used lawn maintenance companies before, so we were not aware that most stop their lawn mowing services at the end of October and switch to snow removal. It was too expensive to buy a new mower, and we could not find any companies who were able to help and gave up searching.

Then, a family member helped us find Favorite Landscapes on HomeStars by calling all the companies down the page, and Favorite Landscapes was the first and only one to so kindly make accommodations to offer their lawn services to us after hearing our predicament, even though they had already switched to the winter services. Their team fit us in within a day and a half and were very professional and efficient. We could not believe our luck!

We are very happy with the results and the price. Just from this experience, we can tell that they are very honest people who care about customers and want to build a good and long-term relationship because of two points:

1. They are very transparent about their pricing and options upfront (unlike some companies we had called prior, who gave us vague pricings even though they were not offering services).
2. They are extremely responsive and will reply to their customers via preferred method (phone, text, email) in a very timely manner. When we were first searching for a lawn company, there were ones that made us leave messages or emails, but never responded. This is very frustrating when one is trying to find urgent help. Favorite Landscapes replies very quickly.

Should we have any snow removal or future lawn maintenance needs, we will be reaching out to them. It is great to see that there is such an honest and trustworthy company like theirs in our community; we hope other people are as lucky as us to have found Favorite Landscapes and hire their services.
