Highly professional, kind and patient contractor. Responded to my request immediately, came that evening to look and quote. On budget, on time, a pleasure to have in my home. No unexpected costs, and if any problems did arise, Derek took care of it quietly and stayed on quote.

The Grandview team helped us completely transform our basement into a Legal 2 Bed Apartment! The team provided their expert advice throughout the build process right from initial inspection, layout design, cost estimation, and choosing trims/materials! Derek and his team apprised us of all the requirements to build to code upfront and included these in their quote - despite some regulatory hiccups coming our way, the team delivered an immaculately awesome quality build within committed timelines and minimal cost escalations! The team was very supportive throughout the build, bearing with our queries and guiding us on any build issues - we are looking forward to working again with the Grandview team this summer for some other projects! We are very pleased with the renovations completed by Grandview D&B. We had our kitchen and one bathroom gutted and rebuilt by Derek and his team. The entire process was professionally done, from the planning to the execution to the project completion. Good communication is vital for all renovation projects and we were very impressed with the excellent, ongoing communication that we received and the quick responses from Derek and the building team. Any concerns we had were immediately addressed, with no hesitation and at no extra charge. When the project was completed, our house was cleaned, including duct cleaning and was left in immaculate condition. Our kitchen and bathroom look luxurious. We have strongly recommended Grandview D&B to family and friends.

Derek and his team are knowledgeable in all aspects of renovation, very detailed oriented starting from giving quote till they hand over professionally finished unit back to you. Best thing about them is providing detailed and itemized quote, which gives better transparency of the work, which I found missing from 5 other contractors I got the quote from. We hit multiple blockers during the renovation, but Derek always found some solution with his problem solving and designing skills.

We had a terrible experience with a previous major renovation in the upstairs part of our bungalow. When it came time to finish our basement we searched for a contractor with excellent reviews online. The word of others on Home Stars and Google reviews matters and we are so pleased they lead us to Grandview Design and Build.

Derek and Andrew are both competent contractors and nice people. They went above and beyond to give us everything we wanted within our budget. Derek was exceptional at communicating before and during this project. They made sure to use quality materials and suggested ways that we could save money while still achieving a great result. There will be bumps in the road with any big or small renovation and these were handled well with open communication and joint problem-solving to determine next steps (although there weren’t many bumps!). During Covid, renovations are much trickier but they excelled at being able to plan the job out and make sure that materials were sourced in a timely manner.

I have already recommended Grandview Design and Build to my friends and family. They exceeded my expectations and showed me that a major renovation does not have to be extremely stressful. I had every confidence that the job would be done well - and it was. I will definitely be calling Grandview for any future renovation jobs.

Grandview took on our project and executed our vision beyond our expectations. Our front entrance consisted of thick stucco walls built many years ago. After purchasing the home, it had to go! We found a photo of the original design and off of one small photo they made it happen. We couldn’t be happier!
