Extremely satisfied customers

My husband and I wanted to get the furnace room side of our basement finished which also involved having some outside work done to repair a leaking foundation wall. We had used a previous contractor for upstairs renos that we were not totally satisfied with. We knew of Dave and had heard that Cheresh Millworking (a family-run business for over 30 years) is known for doing the job well. We met with Dave and decided to offer him the job and we are so glad we did. There were 4 things that we were looking for in a contractor: 1. a person of integrity 2. approachable and accessible 3. quality workmanship 4. affordable We appreciated that Dave, as well as his crew, are all men of integrity and adhere to a high work ethic. They are honest and hard-working. They are committed to completing the job to your satisfaction. His guys were punctual, polite, respectful of us and our home, very accommodating to our requests and made a point of cleaning up at the end of each day. We never had to wonder where they were or if they were going to show up. Dave was completely approachable and accessible to us. He came regularly to check on the progress and quality of the job and kept short accounts with us concerning the job. If we had any questions or concerns he addressed them immediately to our satisfaction. The workmanship is quality plus! We were very satisfied with the job that was done. He does not consider the job is finished until you are satisfied. Being on a fixed income obviously dictates how much we can do at a time. Dave was respectful of that. There was no 'small print' to deal with and the price quoted and agreed upon was exactly what we paid. You may pay a little more than the average contractor, but you know you are getting quality and he stands by his work because his name is on it. I would recommend Dave and his crew without hesitation.

The kitchen started off ok, but we ran into countless problems. Six months passed that date it was suppose to be done, they have still not completed the 1 month project and said to wait until spring. Countless errors on their part. Redoing the same thing over and over and it is still unfinished or needs to be touched up.
- warped cabinets (curved by 1/2 inch - very visible to the eye)
- cabinets separating from the crown molding
- nail pops in the cabinets
- the same item painted 2 different shades
- paint everywhere - wall paint on my ceiling and floor, wood stain on my walls....
He made many mistakes along the way that had to be corrected - but always blamed someone else for the mistake. He never used drop clothes to protect my stuff and left the site a mess - that I had to clean. Many more issues - too many to list.
He does not show up when he says he will. Some days he did not show up at all without even a message.

David did a wonderful job on the new staircase. He and his contractors were very respectful of our home, were very pleasant, and very thorough with their work. He was successful in matching the stain colour with the existing wood in our home. We are extremely pleased with the finished product! I would recommend them without hesitation.

David is an excellent woodworker and cabinet maker. Our wall unit was beautifully made with exceptional skill and attention to detail. It took longer than we expected, but the wait was well worth it. We highly recommend him for your custom cabinets and renovations.

We have contracted Cheresh to do many different projects from major woodworking renevations to repairing concrete driveway to many things in between. We've always had quality work done by David and anyone he had working for him. We are to the point that anything we need, we simply call David and he looks after it for us by sourcing the best person at a very reasonable price. I have hired David at Cheresh for three separate projects and he has produced excellent work with quality installation on each occasion.
