Did work as quoted, no muss, no fuss. Very professional crew and great followup. Would definitely recommend. My chimney was original to the house and needed to be rebuilt. Avenue Road was able to rebuild the chimney in two days -- it was a challenging job because my house is very close to my neighbour's and we did not have permission to use the neighbour's roof to access the chimney. The crew were able to complete the job without a scaffold, and did so without complaint.

I found Avenue Road Roofing and Masonry ( Robert Grantham) a very professional company to deal with. From the quote, to the job to the inspection post the job, they always exceeded my expectations. There was also excellent communication from their staff on timing of arrival and an explanation of any issue.Nothing was a problem or too much to attend to. I strongly recommend using this company.

This was a complicated curved wall to re-build. The wooden deck butting up to this wall, had to be partial removed along with a staircase. Once the deck and staircase were removed, a trench (about 3 ft wide x 6 ft deep x about 18 feet long) was dug to allow access to the wall, down to its foundation. This took about 8 working days and was spread out by a few days due to rain. The earth from the trench was placed on a large tard on the back lawn. The wall was re-built in exactly the same complicated curves as the original wall, and to the exact original height to allow re-use of the lattice wall parts that were installed on the concrète cap of the original wall.
These guys (Rob, Ron, Kevin and Marvin) worked together very harmoniously and quite frankly they were a pleasure to have on site. I highly recommend then to anyone who has masonary work to be done. I would give them a rating of 11 stars out of 10!

We covered over a window and filled in the exterior with brick. The work was completed expertly....brick and mortar matches the original perfectly. The workers arrived on time, were respectful of the neighbours (scaffolding was required), pleasant and did a great job cleaning up the site at the end of the day!

We hired them to repair one chimney and they did such a great job that we hired them again to repair the 2nd chimney and to tackle the long neglected job of tuck pointing our home. Chris supplied a quotation rapidly and completed the job quickly, with no fuss, as per original quotation. Provided pictures of chimney both before and after clearly showing the issues with the chimney and the final completed product.

After several years of looking at deteriorating bricks on my chimneys, decided to deal with the problem. Called 4 companies for quotes and decided with Avenue Road Masonry. Chris P. came quickly, and was the only one who actually went up on the roof to assess the situation and take photos. The work was scheduled quickly and his crew arrived and worked for 1 1/2 days until the work was completed. His workers worked very hard and diligently. They cleaned up and left everything the way it was when the project was started. Photos were taken and shown to me when they were finished. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. At this moment, I have hired them for another masonry job.

I was pleased with the pleasant professionalism of everyone from the lady who made the appointment, Chris,the estimator to Kevin and Sean who did the work. Kevin and Sean worked carefully and efficiently. When they finished they came in to get me to examine what they had done. My elderly neighbour noticed that they were from Avenue Road, the roofing company which had replaced her roof and eavestroughs, and had told them that she was having trouble with her eavestrough. They were happy to help her by caulking the trouble spot.

It would be difficult to say enough good things about this company. We initially booked Avenue Road Masonry to pour a new concrete walkway leading from our house to the sidewalk, but then were seduced by a lower price from another company and cancelled our contract. Our foolish decision was accepted without comment and without penalty. Perhaps fittingly our “lower-priced” company botched the job beyond words. Their work was so bad that we asked them to stop and remove all the concrete already poured before it even had time to cure and were left with nothing but a gapping trench. To add to this other company’s incompetence, they were also dismissive, patronizing and crude. With nothing to lose we decided to call Avenue Road Masonry to see if they might still be available to do the job properly. What we deserved and rightfully expected was a “Told you so” or “Sorry, but we are booked”. What we got instead was the utmost in professionalism, understanding and a job well done. Realizing that the existing situation was both an eye-sore and a safety hazard Chris at Avenue Road Masonry even rearranged the company’s work schedule so that the work would get done before his crew went on holiday. But our experience with Avenue Road Masonry does not end here. When the walkway developed a fracture over the winter, Avenue Road Masonry came back and re-poured the cracked sections at their own expense. This is one amazing company and one that we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending to one and all.
