Empire Deck & Interlock

After perusing the BBB site which listed this company with an A plus rating, I hired them in May of 2018 to build two small decks. I ordered Trex composite “Aspen”, aluminum railings, glass on the back deck. I paid approximately five thousand dollars as a deposit. October passed, then November arrived. My husband and I arrived home to find a huge hole in the backyard, a leg breaker, actually! I called many times and had no response until the following spring. I asked for a start date of May, 7. Absolutely nothing was begun, in fact, somehow the materials that I purchased were no
longer there. Somehow the Trex was unavailable so I was asked to choose a colour from a small sample on the internet. Several months passed and there was no deck or front porch constructed. Finally on November 25, 2019 the work was completed. I had to hold back ten percent as the craftsmen had pieced two boards together which resembled a patchwork quilt. They also had installed a post that was clearly defective as it exhibited several deep gouges. It took eighteen months to do the job, yet the company was able to send the invoice in two days!!!! I would NEVER recommend Empire Decks and Fences to
