Replaced Cartridge for showers and replace flush valve

I reached out to Homestars for Plumbers to fix the problem when water was not getting out from our shower in the main ensuite washroom. Canada Waterproofers were the first to respond and I spoke with Valentyn.

I had mentioned about water hammer problem as well and he said he will come to take a look first to see how he can help.

Valentyn was on time to check the issue and he mentioned the shower cartridge must be changed to fix the problem with the main shower.
He charged $750 for replacing 2 shower cartridges (one for the master ensuite) and the other for the shower in our common washroom.

Approximate cost of services:
$1,000.00

Little we knew that we got ourselves into more problem because of the cartridge he replaced. He used Moen or Danco cartirdges (couldn't remember for sure) instead of delta shower cartridge for our delta faucets we had and this made our water hammer problem much worse over the course of next few days.

We decided to call a few other plumbers and finally after some proper researching, we found another plumber who was able to determine the issue, which was not having the correct cartridge for the showers.

Because of not having the proper cartridge, whenever we flushed the toilet or used our washing machine (the solenoid valve) and when the water filling stopped, the pressure internally caused the water hammer. The other plumber replaced the shower cartridge for $500 CAD

I am not feeling bad for paying more than other plumbers would have charged for the same job but just feeling angry that we had to pay for a job which was not done properly by not using the correct parts.

I will be careful with the quotes being provided and with what they recommend.
