I'm so glad I found SB hardwood via Homestars. I'm including before & after pic's - we had the carpet replaced by hardwood in the master bedroom & upstairs hallway, & the stairs totally refinished in custom stained oak to match. As well, handrail & posts were stained to match & pickets replaced. Simon, Bogdan & team did a great high quality job. I'm going to schedule to have the living room & dining room done next, & wouldn't think of hiring anyone else.

Simon and his team were very professional, and were able to work around our team finishing our basement, who were behind schedule. Simon was able to match the stain for our stairs to our hardwood, and was even able to pick-up extra wood for us from the store. The stairs and floor look great, and we've received so many compliments!

Simon and his very dedicated team did such an amazing job on the rebuild/redesign of our main stair case. They were on time and on budget with our project. They brought our vision to life and completely exceed our expectations on the outcome. Simon, and his team did an amazing job upgrading our stairs with wrought iron and re staining the existing stairs. This is the second home SB hardwood has renovated for us and we have been very happy with both jobs. Simon's team including his Dad and Ziggy are craftsman with stairs and hardwood. They can do almost anything with wood and they are always willing to make changes that make us happy. The results are always exceptional. Each day they cleanup thoroughly and they work very quickly (10 days for 2 flights of stairs including 175 pickets, all the stairs, railings, scraping, sanding, staining, painting and finishing). It is a pleasure to have such polite people in our house!! Thanks guys!

Simon and his crew did an excellent job refinishing our 20-year-old original honey oak staircase to a white and espresso brown in Dec. 2016. We got a few estimates; Simon's quote was not the cheapest but he was the only one confident in his ability to stain the oak veneer siding of our stairs brown. Everyone else said it had to painted white because the staining could not be guaranteed to match. He matched it perfectly. His crew also masked off all the rooms to minimize the dust and cleaned up at the end of every night. The job took about a week. We paid extra for the custom stain to match our hardwood floor and it was worth it. We were very pleased overall with the company's work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

We are very happy with the work that Simon and his crew did for us at our new home.
We had the builder leave the stairs unstained and did not upgrade the pickets through them.

Going through Simon was more economical and we had more options to choose from.
I showed Simon a picture of the pickets we chose and he was able to supply them for us.
He colour matched our stain to the hardwood installed by the builder.

I couldn't be happier with the job Simon and his team did for us. The price was reasonable, the workmanship was amazing, and the finished product looks fantastic. Simon was able to perfectly custom match the stairs to the hardwood we ordered for the main floor, and completed the job neatly and to spec. SB Hardwood did an amazing job. We were very please with the quality of workmanship, their professionalism and the pace with which they completed the job. The finished staircase is beautiful!

All I can really say about SB Hardwood is that they are TOP NOTCH! We just had all of our flooring replaced, and also had our stairs converted from carpet to hardwood in our townhouse. Throughout the entire project, SB's team were meticulous to detail, dealt with my house's "surprises" with ease, were extremely polite, and kept everything as clean as humanly possible.

I can't believe the end result of their work... I honestly could never imagine my floors/stairs looking so amazing... ever. Simon was an absolute pleasure to work with. From his low pressure quote, to keeping me abreast of schedule changes (they were able to start the job a few days early), and was able to give me the feeling of security in knowing that the job would be done right. To spite challenges with some pre-existing issues, the job came in on budget, and (because of being able to move the job up) was completed earlier than scheduled... allowing me to get my house back for Christmas.

Simon's crew (led by Tom) were nothing but professional. They were on time every day, extremely dedicated to the job at hand, and they are true artists with their tools. They made honest and well thought our suggestions when decisions had to be made on our side, and were able to get areas of our house back into our hands quickly so that we were able to live in the house through our project with as little disruption as possible.
