Rip Off and Horrible Service

These guys literary triple the price and really rip you off. And on top of that, they are extremely rude to you when you speak to them.
I ended up paying the initial $360 and was so upset because I was told the initial visit will cost $80. I went with another company after that to actually fix my appliance, even though it costed me more to go with another company at this time. I refuse to give another penny to this company.

I wish I had checked HOMESTARS first before selecting Appliance Repairman.

I got the $80 quote to come to my house for a dishwasher drain problem.
After he arrives, the repair man quotes me $360.
I wanted to pay an hourly rate since I knew it was a clogged drain that could be quickly repaired. He was done within 45 minutes. I still had to pay the full price.

Ripped off like everyone else

My story is the same as everyone else. Paid $350 to have my fridge fixed. Tech said no worries I'll fix it. 4 days later same issue reoccurred. Tech came back asking for another $350 to fix it again. Why didn't he fix it with the first $350?? Just avoid this company and check reviews. Someone should file a class action lawsuit.

Paid 460 for a 500 dollar repair and oven won't open CON MEN

My baking element stopped working. After getting a service call quoted at 80 dollars, they said not the element, it was the computer system and they would have to do a diagnostic at 280 dollars. I am single mom with three kids living one own and I question why so much? He said it was necessary. When I asked shouldn't I just buy a new stove as they around 500 for a similar model he said no, they don't make them like they used to. After the diagnostic, he said it was a fuse but also now the element, which would cost 120. Total was 463. After he left, I ran the self -clean to clean out the oven, and now door will not open and I have a meal prepped for three kids. When I called repairman on his cell, he told me not to harass him at home. I am at a loss as to what to do.

Beware and Do Not Use Appliance Repairman

Had a repairman come to look at my 6 year old washer. They changed the time so I had my mother go over to take the repair. Technician called me and talked about $350 charge. I asked him if it was worth it given the age of my washer. He said definitely ! Next thing I know my husband was calling saying he saw the quote for $935! A new washer is $799.00. We called them within 2 hrs to cancel with the intent of paying the $80 service charge. They indicated I would have to pay the $305 labor charges. NOW....no labour had been performed, they did not have the parts so he had only done the service charge. This company is so dishonest, unprofessional and obviously out there to rip clients off. Why would I pay more for a repair for an older machine then a brand new machine. This is customer service and specialist in their field. Bet they would not do it. Customer service was useless and would not budge. I dont usually write these but I am going to spread the word about this company. I get things cost money but when I feel like I am being taken advantage of I am going to write reviews. Might even go to CTV to get their consumer reporting to check them out. I am sure by the other reviews that there are many others out. I am willing to pay the service change but why labour. I feel like they took advantage of getting my mother to sign off when he had said $350 to me. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS Company

OMG - HUGE RIP OFF

Today I had "Appliance Repairman" come to my house.
To my surprise and total dismay it cost me $200.00 to put two screws in my dishwasher.
They charged me $80.00 for the house call, (which I was informed would be refunded if I choose to have the workman do the repair), and then the repair man informed me that it would be an additional $30.00 for every 10 minutes of work.
None of this was relayed to me during my phone conversation PLUS the $80. to be refunded was an out and out falsehood!
So just a huge word of warning stay away from Appliance Repairman and please pass this word of caution along.

Stay away from ApplianceRepairman.ca

They told us $85 for repair quote for our dryer. A repairman called Igor came and quoted us $305 for repair. He quoted this immediately without opening the unit. I clearly told him that since it is an old washer, that is the maximum I'm willing to pay. I told him that if anything else is needed, I would be happy to pay $85 and purchase another unit. He GUARANTEED us that he had seen this issue before, no parts were needed, and this was the max we would pay.

5 mins later he told me the issue was fixed. The issue according to him was the lint stuck way below. He asked for payment in cash or debit card. I felt suspect, and told him I could only pay by credit card. He said he would call his company to unlock his terminal. He then came a few mins later and said I could pay by credit card, and I paid $344.65 (after taxes).

He told us the dryer was fixed, and we had a 30 day warranty on the repair done. The mistake we made was to take his word and not test the dryer. I tested the dryer almost immediately and when it didn't work, I called the company back. The company said the technician would call me back, and he did call back with an unlisted number. He told me I needed to run a full cycle with wet clothes to test accurately. When that didn't work, and I called the company back, I was told the technician would call me back again. He never did, My wife & I called the company 2-3 times again that day, and were told to wait for the technicians call by the end of day. When Igor the technician didn't call back, we called the company again, and were told that customer service would call us on Monday (the service was done on Saturday).

The crafty technician had written on our invoice that (a) we need to have our ducts cleaned and (b) we will need new heating enclosure with element for $391.70. When he left on Saturday, he told us we didn't need this but he wrote it because we would eventually need it. He said our unit was good for another 10 years (minimum 5 years).

On Monday, when we called the company (they never did), we were told to first get our 2 foot duct from the dryer to the wall professionally cleaned as that was what Igor the technician had written on the invoice. The duct was clean to begin with, but we cleaned it again and we called the company back. Then the company says that that as per the technician's note on the invoice, an additional $391.70 is needed in parts to repair the dryer, and we would need to pre-pay for the parts in order for them to come out.

When asked about the 30 day repair warranty, the company tells us that warranty is for parts and since there were no parts put in, there is no warranty. When asked what if the part in question didn't fix the issue, the company said that in that case, additional parts may be needed and we would need to pay for those parts too if needed.

When you get upset on the phone, they offer you $45 refund if you sign a waiver against them.

Our technician was Igor and the customer service reps we spoke to were Sonia, Angela and Stefanie. Lesson learnt: stay away from ApplianceRepairman.ca

Do not use this company- They will ripp off your money

The classic story as everyone, I had a problem with my Bosch fridge ( not cooling). I called them and they say $89 for service call, which I agreed on. The tech showed up on time, after 15 minutes from trying to diagnose the problem, he tells me that I know the problem, the pipes are clogged with food debris over the years, and no parts are required, but I will cost you $300 to fix it and i will cover any other problem related to the cooling,it is an expensive fridge and you will be saving the fridge with $300. I reluctantly paid the money , and after 30 minutes he tells me that another problem popped up and the fan needs t to be changed and the cost is $290 + tax and the reason it is an expensive fridge , so total price to fix the fridge 672......
I paid $500 waiting for the part to come in, and don’t know I believed this guy, the next morning called Bosch to find out the original fan costs $89 and they are not certified Bosch dealers and that any certified Bosch repair business will charge $89 for diagnostics and to be fwd toward the repairs
Total fraud they charge $300 for diagnosticS and the price of the parts is extremely elevated and I called them they deny anything the tech said and the parts are expensive because they order it from a 3rd supplier and there is handling fee and labour )...
I am complaining them with consumer Ontario and fighting the charge with my credit card.Dont use them , they Will ripp your money ofg
