Felt comfortable with John from the moment we met him. Designed a highly functional kitchen for us which came in on budget. No surprises. Every work crew that came into the house were experts in their trades, were very respectful and kept things as clean as can be for a reno. We absolutely love our new kitchen and have had many compliments on the workmanship. Would highly recommend Oakville Kitchen Designers!!

Felt like it was the first kitchen this person had ever done. Sizzle without steak. Luckily, great contractor came through so things worked out, but OKD created issues that the contractor and I had to fix. We learned about OKD from the subs, which I have not independently confirmed, so won't post here. Terrible follow up by OKD (many promises, no action, so we are on our own), mistakes remain and no response. Mistake going with OKD; partially because of good reviews on HomeStars. I am told the negative reviews get taken down , so doubt anyone will get to read this.

We started by looking at different kitchen renovation companies and got several quotes. Oakville kitchen designer won our business not because their price is the lowest, instead, John as a designer took his time to visit us a few times, listened to what we want and came up with a even better design. We absolutely love our new kitchen! It's very spacious and functional. John made our dream a reality.
The installers/contractors did an excellent job too. Their calculation and precision in placing the cabinets was quite impressive, and everything was solidly attached and level. The cabinets are superb!

there was a minor delay in the project since our floor company delivered the wrong hardwood floor, but John handled it professionally. We will highly recommend Oakville kitchen designers to anyone.

John is a great designer and very detail oriented.
Initial design and consult was fabulous.
However the kitchen doors look worn and chipped after a few years, white stains easily and doors are misaligned. Not the quality we thought we paid for. We have had one of our corner doors hanging off for 2 years now. Kitchen is 3 years old. There are two corner doors that John admitted were poorly designed as they were too heavy. I have contacted the company many times and even mentioned to John via email that I would be writing a review based on my experience with his company. He did not respond.

The people at Oakville Kitchen Designers were terrific. They were professional and ensured everything was working just right on their part of the project before they handed over to the next team.

We found Oakville Kitchen Designers after searching numerous contractors and visiting many store fronts. When we walked into OKD's showroom, we were pleasantly surprised with the various kitchen displays. Soon afterwards, we were working with John Vandervolk in developing a plan for our dream kitchen, which eventually became a main floor transformation. He managed the project from day one and was responsive to anything we had queries or concerns with. His team of contractors were timely and was meticulous in their craft. We're extremely happy with our reno and the service that John and his team provided.

We had been researching various different kitchen design companies and when we finally contacted Oakville Kitchen Designers we were impressed from the get go.
Our plan was to open up the space between our family room and the kitchen and had specific ideas and requests.
John came to our home asked a lot of questions which gave him insight into who we were and what we wanted to get out of our space. He was then able to get back with some great ideas and a very detailed design that incorporated all our goals and wishes. The 3D design really helped us see that the space, which we thought was limiting, was actually much bigger and able to provide us with so much more then we anticipated.
OKD is a turnkey operation with John heading up a very professional, friendly team of contractors.
The entire renovation was done right on time, right on budget and definitely exceeded our expectations.
The space we have now to entertain and cook is beautiful, functional and timeless.
One major benefit with John is his incredible eye for detail and his design experience which resulted in suggestions we had not even considered ourselves.
Even though we changed our mind on a few occasions with certain design ideas John was always accommodating and reassured us that nothing was ever a problem and everything was possible.

Without hesitation we would recommend and do recommend John and his team at OKD to our friends and family.

We had a total kitchen renovation done by OKD. John came to measure before anything was demolished and went through several design ideas with us. He came up with some great ideas which we worked together on and came up with the final design. He was very patient throughout the process - we changed things a few times! The installation was completed in a few days in a very professional manner. The result is terrific, we love our new kitchen and would certainly recommend John and OKD.
