I was at wit's end waiting for my partner to finish our basement bathroom. I finally called in Jason, having met him in person through a mutual friend.
He realized that I was budget conscious and although I ended up spending more than I thought I had to, I ended up with a beautiful bathroom, more complete than I thought I'd ever get AND no mess in the freaking house, unlike other contractors!

We met Jason a year ago when he assisted us with a small + critical roofing repair job. In communicating that this was part of a bigger project; we worked with him to now begin what has become Phase I of a three-phase exterior make-over. Jason and his roofing crew, led by Jamie, provided exceptional service: starting with design concept and ending with site clean up. Installation smooth and professional and any small issues were swiftly dealt with. All in a quality job that was completed on budget and on time. I highly recommend Kovar Contracting for quality and reliability, based on the work I had done on my small bungalow in mid June, 2017. I requested quotes from three companies for complete replacement of soffit, fascia and eavestrough. One company declined as the work was too tricky. The other two gave similar quotes. My choice of Kovar hinged on Jason and Alex's quick, response to my questions, and obvious expertise, confirming the excellent online reviews I had read. I did not need to make a deposit and work started and was completed as promised. Upon careful inspection I was very impressed with the quality of the finished product, most especially the intricate work required in the corners and over the front porch. Nature has provided plenty of opportunity to test the work and it has passed with flying colours.

After deciding to use Kovar to replace my 30 year old gutter system, Jason met his work start timeframe. His installer Alex arrived as promised and with the assistance of another installer, completed the work as quoted. Both installers were excellent and courteous craftsmen. I would highly recommend Kovar for any work of this type on your home.

We needed to replace the 33 year old skylights in our Viceroy home. One approx 4 ft by 5 ft, the second unit approx 2.5 ft by 18 ft. Both skylights are in cathedral ceilings and being non standard design required significant restructuring of the roof exterior and the the interior drywall.
We had received proposals from several contractors during the past year, none of which meet our expectations.
We emailed an outline of our requirements to Kovar Contracting. Jason Kovar promptly phoned to set up a meeting. He came, inspected the exterior, the interior, took detailed measurements. Jason asked for a second meeting and brought his colleague Kevin, to review the project with us. A few days later Kovar provided a detailed written proposal for the project. We reveiwed the proposal and accepted it with few changes. In particular we liked Kovar's terms, payment when job is complete.
Kovar Contracting was very good to deal with. Completed the work promptly. Considerate of our home, protecting floors etc. Was very good about dust control when doing the interior ceiling dry wall work. Excellent repainting of the drywall. Very good job of the roof shingle replacement.

We really appreciated how easy Jason was to work with, accommodating some uncertainty about surrounding our schedule. We are very happy with the finished product.

The job was outstanding. The reply was fast, the work to be done was well-explained, the job was scheduled quickly, and the crew showed up on time. The job was completed within the specified time and pictures were taken of the meticulous work. All in all, a very professional and first class job. This I consider to be money well spent and I would not hesitate to have the same company back for another job.

The work was done extremely well and on time, under extreme circumstances (e.g. 40C, & rain) - Jason and the crew took longer than the planned 2 days but thundershowers played havoc with the schedule. The roof was sealed at all times and there were no leaks. While we were away, Jason and crew made sure that the flyers etc were put away so that it looked like we were home (thank you for that). He also sent me photos on the progress being made, since we were out of town while the worl was done
