Recessed lighting - kitchen ceiling

Professional, punctual, efficient and friendly. Nathan and his apprentice installed two recessed lights in my kitchen ceiling in under one hour. I went with Robart because of their reviews on Homestars and their competitive quoted price. The final bill was actually less than what was quoted and the finished work was excellent. I will use Robart again and refer them to my friends and family.

Basement, and kitchen rewiring

We had a 50+ year old house that needed new wiring, and a second service to the basement. Rob and his workers did it in a matter of a few days. All clean, and neat and very professional.

Would we hire him again? Absolutely! His people know what they are doing, and don't waste time drinking coffee/ talking all day.

Bathroom wiring and Breaker Panel replacement

Working with Handyman connection, Robart was recommended to wire our new bathroom. Rob came out to look over what we needed and give us a quote. Rob was very knowledgeable in his field. I was informed upfront of all of the work that needed doing. As the breaker panel we had was full, to wire in the bathroom required a new panel. The quote I received was clear and concise and listed all that was discussed in person. When his staff came to do the actual work they were very respectful and completed the job quickly. They were able to fish the wires to the panel area with only the need to make one small easily repairable access hole. When the work was inspected by the city inspector, it was mentioned that Robart was doing the work. The inspector mentioned "When you work as long as I have you know who the good guys are that do good work." Took a 10-15 second look and passed the work. Its good to know Robart has such a reputation with the city inspectors.

Adding outlet, hiding tv wires, hard wiring ethernet connection

Probably the best decision I ever made is to go with Robart. Had a few odds and ends in the house that had been bugging me for years. The primary motivation was to get my internet connectivity up to Shaw's advertised speeds and not be held back by the turtle like performance of wifi. Actually, the first call I made to Robart was about an outdoor plug that the electrical control panel had decided was a danger to the occupants in the house and decided to trip the breaker. I had reset that breaker many times before but this time it refused to be reset. I ended up with Rob at the other end of the phone line and he actually managed to get me to reset it over the phone, no-charge. Wow! I was an instant fan and decided to throw my accumulated electrical projects his way. A couple of days later his crew showed up and proceeded to install the new outlet for my coffee machine ( I had requested a 220v 20 amp outlet but Rob's son saved me from completely destroying the machine by going thru the manual with me and deciding on a 110v 20 amper instead). The upstairs desktop is now connected via a ethernet cable connection and is three times faster than before. The unsightly wires from the tv (wall mounted) are no longer visible and I am a happy camper. The only thing that annoys me is that I waited so long to get this done. Rob's son and his assistant are extremely knowledgeable and courteous. It was a pleasure to have them perfrom this work. All in all, I would recommend this company to anyone without hesitation.

150 A to garage and underground to house to another 150A feeding an old 100A

Arranged date in May 2016, for underground work cancelled due to rainy conditions. Rescheduled for June. It gave me time to remove obstacles like cutting through two layers of sidewalk before the trencher arrived. I wanted more power in my garage to run my delta table saw +++. Robart electricians and trencher Dan, were accommodating and tidy. There was some misunderstanding about my wanting a drywall ceiling verses a drop ceiling in the basement where the cable was run. They returned and fed the cable through the 5 joists.
Also, a month later, they returned to solve a problem with the old wiring in the garage which was supposed to be redirected to the new garage 150A panel, but tripped a breaker in the 100A panel in the house. Baffled by unexpected power, the electrician replaced the old wiring from switch to lights, then the garage was connected to the garage panel. They were a good crew that worked well and efficiently together. There were no extra charges.

Electrical service upgrade

I hired Robart to upgrade my electrical service to a 200A service. I have an underground service so they had to bring in and coordinate a number of people to do the trenching. The work both inside and outside my house was done very well, and they kept a clean and tidy work environment.

The only issue was with submitting paper work to Epcor which resulted in few weeks of delay. In the end it worked out fine as it gave me more time to work on finishing my basement.

Thanks Dan for the review. Epcor is such a large organization, that most times customer patience is absolutely required. In projects like this scheduling is out of our hands. Presently for service upgrades Epcor is booking 5 weeks in advance. All we can do is apologize to our customers.

RELOCATE SERVICE AND INSTALL SURGE PROTECTOR

Because of damage to the service on my house, it had to be repaired. I called Robart Electrical Services for a second opinion after getting the run-around for 3 weeks from another company. With winter approaching, I was a bit stressed.

From the first phone call, Rob put my worries to rest as he assured me the damage would be repaired. Within a few days I had answers to several questions, a solution, and a written quote.

The relocation of the service was done by courteous electricians who did an awesome job, and left the work areas quite tidy........thank you Chris and Greg. Their office manager is pleasant and efficient, with a quick response to requests......thank you Mindy.

I found this company to be professional and dependable from start to finish. I will gladly refer them to family and friends.

Replacing Fluorescent Kitchen Fixtures

Our three fluorescent lights in our kitchen/ eating area were dated and making noise. It was time for them to come out. Chris came to look at the job shortly after I contacted Robarts Electrical. I was able to pick the day I wanted to do the work. The project went smoothly. Two guys removed the fixtures, installed four new lights, moved a junction box and installed one of the fluorescent fixtures in our garage, where it belonged.

Electrical Subpanel

In the process of assessing electrical needs to have a HVAC unit installed at our home it was discovered the main electrical panel was not adequate and that an existing subpanel needed to be assessed. Robart was recommended to us by the heating and air conditioning contractor. An appointment was promptly made, at which time a determination was reached. An estimate for the job promptly followed and upon acceptance the work was completed. Robart pulled the required City permit and is now arranging for the final inspection. Seamless professional experience.
