Don't go near this company

Same as everyone else. They come in, tell you that you need a part, walk out with $300. No fix or solution. Cash or debit should tell you enough.
Stay away.

WORST experience I've ever had!

My dishwasher door wouldn't shut.

I am fairly handy but I decided to have a professional come and take a look. I can't tell you how much I regret calling Appliance Repair team. From the rude, condescending "office manager" to the incapable technician who came to my house, this company is a disaster from top to bottom.

I acknowledge that I'm the one who didn't do my own due diligence. Had I just looked at a few reviews, I would never have chosen to hire this company. Lesson learned!

Here's what happened - Technician shows up, tells me he will fix whatever needs to be fixed during that visit, provided no new replacement parts needed to be ordered. Prior to doing anything, I paid him $271. He then spent 10 minutes looking at the dishwasher, WITHOUT taking the inner panel off. I was then presented with a quote for an additional $346.06 for a new lock with switches. This was simply too much money so I declined to have the repair done. So, the technician was here for less than 30 minutes and I was charged $271 and nothing was fixed.

After the technician left, I decided to take a look for myself. I removed the inner panel from the dishwasher, disconnected the switches and it took me 5 minutes to make an adjustment to the locking mechanism. It simply got stuck in the wrong position. My dishwasher works perfectly fine.

Do not hire this company to do any work. How they are still in business is shocking to me.

Dryer Repair

I was visited by an Appliance Repair Team technician twice in September to inspect my relatively new Samsung dryer. On the first visit, we were quoted and charged for repairs to the control board and heating assembly. This total came to $536. We also discussed the pros and cons of repairing the dryer versus purchasing a new dryer extensively with the technician. Ultimately we went with the repair because he sold us on the warranty program and assured us that repairs to the same parts would be covered in the future. The dryer worked for one cycle and then broke again. The same technician came again, this time more than a week later because it was a warranty call, and again quoted repairs to the control board and heating assembly. The total for this visit was again $536.

After weeks of negotiating with their customer service team, which regularly dropped calls, failed to return my calls and treated me with little respect, I came to an agreement with a manager to pay for the parts for a second time but at a discounted rate. I explained that this agreement was again conditional on a quick turnaround as i have now been without a dryer going on a month.

More than a week has passed and today I received a call from the Appliance Repair Team. They informed me that their parts team was just submitting the order and will not honour the discount promised to me by the first manager, claiming that he was not properly trained for his role. Not only have they not submitted my order for over a week, but they are now quoting me an additional $800+ for the same parts.

Needless to say this is has been a terrible customer service experience and I am still waiting for my dryer to be repaired.

buyer be warned

I should have read the reviews on this company BEFORE scheduling a service call. My washing machined had been sitting with a wet load of clothes for over 3 days and my normal service repair man was unavailable. So I called this company and was told it was $80 service call. Sounded reasonable. The technician showed up, looked at the hose (which I had already determined was not the issue) then said he would have to take the top off to run a diagnostic - that would be $300. I agreed to that but then he informed me that it would need a part costing $645. That's when I got smart. Sucked up and paid the $300+ and sent him on his way. I called the company and they couldn't have cared any less about this unhappy customer. So be warned and look else where for a service company

Fix Oven

Beware of this company.

On Sept 23rd when their tech visited I received an invoice which showed the cost of the part and labour for fixing my oven would be $582.00 I paid 50% of the total, and was advised that the part would be ordered and he would be back next week.

I called them on Sept 29th since I had not receiving any updates, and was told that the part was not ordered, and that I would have to pay for it in advance, which was different from what I was previously told. I was advised that the $290 I paid was only for the tech's visit, which is at odds with the $80 that is disclosed when making the appointment.

broken washing machine

Stay far from this company!!!!!
July 4th, the service technician advised me that a part needed to be replaced. After reassuring me that the machine was well worth repairing I had him order the part and paid for it ($647.97)
July 11th the part was installed but didn't seem to solve the problem so another part needed to be ordered (274.45). Again I asked whether it would be worth it and got the same response (this was a Miele washing machine which are quite costly to replace)
What followed was an extremely tedious process to get the company to address the situation; multiple calls that were not returned and no updates provided.
Finally on Sept 6 the part had arrived and was going to be installed.
When nobody had shown up or contacted me more than one hour after the appointment window had expired I called the company.
I was advised that the technician would be there in 10 min.
45 min later he calls me with the message that they had received the wrong part and that he was rescheduling for Saturday Sept 10th.
Within 5 min during that visit it was determined that it still wasn't working and that the machine was irreparable. He left in a hurry with the comment that I would be contacted on Mon re: a refund.
By Wed I called to get more info and I was told that I first needed to pay the balance (274.45) before an assessor would be sent over to look at the machine and decide if a refund would be awarded.
BTW: On Sat. Sept I had purchased a new machine which had been delivered on Mon Sept 12th and the old machine had been taken away (who has room for 2 washing machines?)
The bottom line: I never heard back until I called Sept 26th and was told that I did not qualify for a refund since the parts had been installed!!
Had I known that I would have suggested for the technician to remove and take them before he left.
This company lacks customer service and communication of policy between head office and service department

Dishwasher Repair

On the first visit the technician did not open or check the dishwasher but only inquired about the codes we see on the screen. Said that a new part will need to be ordered ($350) and the dishwasher will be fixed on next visit.

During the next visit the technical installed the part but the problem was not fixed. The machine still does not work and his excuse was that I needed to get a plummer to connect the dishwasher as the connector was apperantly the issue. How rediculus considering that they apperantly do installations as well. I asked to show him where is seeing the leak, he could not show - the water connector was dry but the dishwasher still not working. I asked to at least refund the money for the part that was ordered since obviously it was not the reason for the issue, but this request was refused.

After spending $500 I am at the same place where I started. Does not look like the technitian knew what he was doing and used the plummer as an excuse.

Leaking washer

The washer was leaking, we called Appliance Repair Team Cambridge/Kitchener and their technician considered a tub alignment will fix the leak and in the receive quoted a new drain pump. The technician did the repair not mentioning it would be a must to change a pump($410 +tax). If that would had been stated, most likely I would just get a new one. After a leake was noted again, they refuse to resolve anything unless a new pump was installed. They were not honest since the beginning creating a sense they will fix

I'd rather Deal with the Devil

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Charged over $300 for a 20 minute visit in which only an inexpensive small fuse was replaced. When I phoned the company to complain they would do nothing and said they would not be at all bothered receiving ANOTHER scathing review. They were happy with their low on-line ratings. They have a 1-star rating on several major review sites.

dryer repair

This company is charging $80.00 to show at your front door and then additional 215 dollars to tell you what is wrong with your appliance. If you don't want that, you still have to pay 80.00 just for nothing. We ended up paying $333.00 for nothing because they wanted to charge us $800.00 to fix the appliance. A new one costs less. They terribly overcharge. Stay away!
