Dryer repair

Charged $800 for a dryer heating element (incl labor...found out later the part actually costs $145 and was quoted $575)…thought that was still a lot cheaper than a new dryer…showed up, did the $80 'supposed' diagnostic review of the problem, said it was the heating element, would take 3-4 days to get the heating element delivered to them…called them 7 days later and they said the repair person would be there the next day between 1-4…didn’t show, then called them to see where they were and was told they would be there between 4-7 that day then called back to say it would be the next day….they came, replaced the heating element and told me to wait 3-4 hours before use…needless to say it didn’t work, got them back a week later to be told the motherboard was fried…to replace the motherboard was another $550 (actual cost $115)…told them with the initial $800+$550 could easily buy a new one…asked why they didn’t say what the problem was at the beginning (heating element plus motherboard) and he said he didn’t know it was the motherboard until then…said he would report to the company and we could get our initial $800 back in the morn…well guess what happened…no refund (lot of non sensical reasons). So we’re going to seek legal action. Do not use this company. (Wish I checked Homestars first!).

Ice maker repair

Terrible service!!! Stay away at all cost!!!

Called for ice maker repair, was told to pay $80 for service call, after 5 minutes of looking technician told me I need to replace the ice maker, quoted me $680 for a new part, which I agreed to order. After two days he came back to install it, told me to wait 24 hours for the ice maker to work, well it never did. Called the company several times to complain and was completely ignored, finally I asked for the manager and was told that the technician will be back to check the ice maker. He came over looked at the freezer and said oh you need a new part “the control board” and that will be another $400!!!!!

Don’t hire this company for any repairs!!!!!!

Absolutely Appalling

Repairman told me service was done. My dishwasher is still broken after spending $750 and when I called CS, I was blamed and told there is nothing that can be done. The repairman wrote notes on my invoice without addressing them or pointing them out to me and I signed it and the company is holding me accountable for signing. NEVER use this company. Their are 100's of terrible reviews. I do not know how they can still exist.

Washer repair - not done

My washer stopped working so I called this team. The technician did a few tests and indicated the $80 service call was just to show up. I needed to pay another $280 labour to see what the problem was. And then pay for whatever parts I needed – which could be none, some or many. He was literally here for 3 minutes. This was not made clear. Had I known this, I would have found someone who could diagnose the problem for less than (at least) $360.

Re and re a new dishwasher

I hired the appliance repair team to remove and install new dishwasher. He removed the old one with no problem. Then he started to install the new dishwasher when he tested the new dishwasher it leaked all over the floor he put the wrong clamp on drain hose. Then when he fixed the clamps installed the machine and had to pull it out again and unhook it so he could raise the feet he put it back in I asked him to side mount dishwasher instead of screwing it to counter top so he tried to screw into side of cabinets he didn't drill pilot holes i had to tell that you need to drill pilot holes so he did after he tighten the mounting clips the dishwasher was not properly squared so he had to unscrew mounting clips again and level dishwasher again then had another pilot hole for clips then install it again then it was all good then tested again it again and no leaks. It took him 2.5 hours to do this and charged me 395 bucks for a job that should have only taken an hour to do.I don't think this guy has ever installed a dishwasher before. Do not ever use this company for any installs as they are incompantat

Useless Company

This company is a total sham. The service man was rude and unhelpful stayed for 15 minutes and charged $318.00 in labour after we refused to buy a part which he originally said was $280 installed and changed it to $680 installed. BEWARE

Washer

Charged me a total of $317.00 to come out and clean the filter as that is the problem they indicated caused tbe washing machine not to spin and drain. Promised it came under warranty for a year and now two months later I have the same problem. Warranty not acknowledged after 30 days but can give me a discount to come out again.
A complete dishonest company which takes advantage of its potential clients.

Broken Dishwasher

Just awful company and more expensive that any other repair company in Hamilton. I was told by a customer representative that there would be a $80 diagnostic fee to determine the problem. After that if we decide to go with the repair, the $80 would be waived and a set labour cost would be apply (which was $290 for me). I asked the technician what the $290 included and he told me all labour necessary to repair the dishwasher regardless of how long it would take. What it didn't cover was the price of any parts needed for the repair. I thought this was quite expensive, but agreed to it. After taking 30 minutes to figure out the problem he told me the problem was my drain pump but luckily for me he had one in his truck. He told me the price of the drain pump was $350 but he was going to give it to me for $180. Me being naïve to the world of dishwashers agreed and was thankful. I was also suppose to get a $15 new customer discount but he wouldn't give it to me because of the discount he gave me on the part. So those coupons you see in their website are really for show and can't be actually used.

The whole process seemed strange and once he left I did some research and found the part online for only $85 and realized that I had been overcharged and basically screwed over.

I called customer care and they told me that I was indeed charged correctly because the extra $180 was for the part and the service I would potentially receive during the 45 day warranty period. So another labour charge, but this time for labour that might not even happen. She mentioned she would bring it up my concerns to higher management, but we all know that means nothing.

All in all, this company is overly expensive and I would NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone. I made the mistake of choosing their company because they came up first on google and I couldn't remember the appliance company I used in the past. Won't happen again. Lesson Learned!!

Like I said, DO NOT choose this company, I have used other companies in the past that are much better at their job and have reasonable rates. Hope this post helps someone make a better decision than I did. Probably should have bought a new dishwasher. LOL !!!

Technician has no experience of the stove and messed it up

I had ignitor issues on my gas stove that need to be replaced as the ignitors keep sparking even if the burner is on. The first technician replaced the spark module (~$600), and fiddle a few things and made it worked for a few days and same problem came back. He came back, fiddle a few more things and it worked for another few days. A new technician was then sent and asked to replaced all burners with the ignitors (~$1800). I said to the technician that the flame looks at least 40% weaker than it originally was. He started making up some story saying the new part is more efficient so the flame looks smaller. In a few days, I smell gas when I turn on the stove. I took the my top panels off and lighted my burners and found 3 out of 4 burners were leaking when they they are turned on. My house could have blown up if I did not check myself. I tightened the hoses myself and then look for another manufacturer recommended tech to look. He immediately said it could be the orifices are too smaller in the new part. Luckily, I kept the old parts and he replaced them using those from my old burners and now everything is fine. I also asked him how much it would have costed for replacing just the ignitors and he said roughly $65 parts for each plus 15 minutes labour. So I have paid over $2000 more for nothing.
