Replacement of Eavestroughs at front door and along garage due to leaks
We purchased a home where the area at the front of the house had been landscaped and circular front steps had been added. When the stairs were added the downspout from the eavestrough to the stairs
did not line up.
Rather than replacing the section of the eavestrough so the downspout was in alignment the contractor jerry-rigged the downspout to align by using several joints at various angles. Every winter the downspout leaked no matter what we did to try and have it repaired and we had to use large amounts of salt to keep the stairs clear of ice.
Unfortunately a good friend ended up breaking his leg after he slipped on a patch of ice that was under a puddle from the downspout. The spiral fracture he suffered resulted in a lot of pain and extensive Physiotherapy which he is still undergoing. But no Eavestroughing company would undertake such a
small job for us.
We even hired a small contracting company to
repair the crooked downspout for us. They charged us $650 but they made the leak even worse and left a
total mess.
Then we spoke with Angel at Reynolds Brothers and she sympathized with our plight. She couldn’t
guarantee when she could help us but she would put us on a list and an estimator would be out to quote a
price to fix the problem correctly. She estimated the job might not be done until January of 2021 but we were willing to wait.
The estimator came out in a few days and told us
they would replace all of the eaves troughs along the side of the garage and across the front door plus realign the downspout for the same price as the small contractor - $650.
Less than a week later Angle saw a window for her crew to replace our misaligned eavestroughs
and downspout. It was a truly professional job that took her crew slightly more than an hour. The crew was courteous, efficient and cleaned up after the job to perfection. It was like someone had waived a magic wand and it was just like new. And not a leak since!
I will recommend Reynolds Brothers to anyone and will do so going forward. This is a great family run business and they treat you like family. Thanks Angel!
