Bill was extremely patient and responsive while we explored options to redo our backyard. He always returned our phone calls and never hesitated to come by the house to talk through options. When we asked for references, he was more than happy to take us on a tour of houses he did in the neighborhood.

The quality of the work he did for us was fantastic, it felt like his team were treating our house as if it was their own. They not only brought great ideas to the design but also put up with our indecisiveness and worked with us to help us visualize the final output.

But it was the little things that make me wish I could give them an 11 out of 10. Without us asking, they fixed a neighbors fence that backs onto our yard, fixed a loose board on an old fence they weren’t working on, fixed an old outside drain, etc. Very important to us, they also accommodated our dog by building a ramp for him so that he could still go outside while they worked on our deck.

Thank you Bill, Peter and Mike (+all your teams) for an amazing job. We’re very excited about spending time in our new yard.

Great job! We hired Fairney and Sons to do our roof. Bill responded to us quickly, came to look at the roof, gave us a reasonable quote, and got the job done quickly. We were very impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism of his team. They left everything neat and tidy when the job was complete with absolutely no damage to the property and surrounding gardens. We hired Fairney & Sons to remove and replace our old garden walls, front walk, front steps and flag stone path. They replaced it with a new stone garden wall, interlock patio area, new stone steps to the sidewalk and new wooden steps to our front door. Our neighbours also hired Fairney & Sons to install new interlock on their side to match.

This is our second time working with Fairney & Sons. An absolute pleasure to work with. They have a team of competent and skilled professionals who communicate well and take great care in the work they do. They are great with communication about timing, unexpected issues, etc. They also stay committed to projects and see them through. And leave a very tidy job site at the end of every day.

They even gave us a dog crate for our new puppy!

Bill and his team just finished up a new interlocking brick walkway and stairs for our front garden. They took the time to dry fit everything and get our feedback on the design before gluing things together which was great. They are incredibly friendly and down to earth. We recently had work completed by Fairney and Sons and I highly recommend them. They overhauled our front yard by replacing our old wooden retaining wall, walkway, and stairs with beautiful brussels block pavers and dimensional stones. They also quickly and cleanly took down an old garage and made the eyesore disappear!. The resulting appearance of the property is so impressive!

Very impressive. I solicited a quote on HomeStars to have someone look into whether we needed an additional device or procedure for preventing water from entering the basement. Fairney and Sons came out, took a careful look at the situation, and explained why no additional work was needed. This is the mark of an honest company focused on long-term relationships, where they will provide a free service to help the customer. and decline to do work that is not strictly necessary. HomeStars required me to enter an approximate cost number of $1, but Fairney and Sons kindly provided this service at no charge.

I can’t recommend Fairney & Sons more highly. We were in need of work on multiple projects – new roof, garage siding and roof, front walkway, front porch. The owner of the company did a fantastic job of coordinating and getting each of the projects completed quickly and to the highest degree of craftsmanship; he personally was always actively engaged and in constant contact on all facets of the work being done. There was never any ambiguity about the timeline or the costs. If you are looking for an efficient, high quality contractor look no further than Fairney & Son’s.

The older tab shingles on our Riverdale home were curling up and in need of repair. Billy of Fairney & Sons promptly responded to our request for an estimate to re-roof our home. The estimate was clearly specified and explained to us, and we felt that the price was reasonable. The crew was able to begin within a couple of weeks and completed the job in 3 days of work. Every day the crew arrived early or on time, cleaned up the job site, and was very professional. Billy also went the extra mile to ensure our neighbours were aware of the work and that their homes were protected (this is important in my neighbourhood because of how close the houses are together). I would not hesitate to work with Billy & Fairney & Sons in the future, and would highly recommend them to others looking for high quality, reasonably priced work and a professional crew.

It was a pleasure working with this company, from the contractor to the workers who fixed my roof. I would recommend them to anyone as they were curtious, did the job in a timely manner, provided a great quote, and kept me up to date throughout the job by taking the time to explain everything and back it up with lots of photos. The protection of my yard and the neighbors as well as the clean up afterwards was immaculate.
